The mourning dove that built a nest in one of my window boxes had her babies. You can only see one of them in this picture, but there are two babies:

Looks so summery and delicious... birds are so cute.

We had a wonderful visit with Lori and Rick. When you finally met face to face for the first time you worry about having nothing to say. :hyper: need I say that did not happen. Alex and Rick were troupers they let us talk.:thumbsup2

Lori anythime you want to come back and chase away the storms you are welcome here. Thanks again for the goodies. Alex saw the jumblaya mix and his eye went . That is one of his fav. Its up there with hamburgers and chicken fingers.

We had a great time too! Thanks for meeting up with us. I loved that mango-lime dressing-now I want some for our salad tonight! And Alex is a great young man. You should be very proud. And thanks for the goodie basket!:bitelip:

The pear wine was consumed last night after a VERY Loonnnnggg day(and it was yummy!)

So....we checked out and hit the road to come up here(Chicago to Wisconsin) and about halfway, right before the Dells, we stopped to have a lookie lou at the indian casino(think Wilderness Lodge)-and low and behold-there were tornado warnings for where we were. Needless to say they scooted everyone down to the basement-closed the tables/slots/hotel/restaurants-everything! So after an hour or so of being crammed in the basement hallway (a little too long for this mildly claustrophobic chick) Rick and I head back upstairs to see what's going on. A tornado touched down less than a mile from us! But, looked like things were moving on(local tv was on) and it was just rain so we hightailed it outta there like drown doggies in our pregnant roller skate of a rental car. It was nerve wracking but neat to see the police cars out with the highway crews clearing the interstate of downed trees and limbs.

So, we treated ourselves to some mighty fine wine!

And lunch today was the Asiago cheese crackers with WI bacon cheddar cheese and Antilope meat sticks.

Dinner tonight is salad. And cheese, lots and lots of cheese.:rotfl2:

Hey Y'all,

Sorry for all the confusion I caused with Lauren's marinade! I guess Lauren has posted lots of yummy ones!

Ann, Sorry your DN's loss, but glad they had a great season! 105, whew! that sounds miserable.

Aimee, Happy to hear your hubby passed his physical!

Becky, Good to hear that John is home safely. Your food looks delish & your doves are pretty too!

Kathy, Sorry Kyle had their first loss!

Lori, Glad you & Rick are okay!!! That must have been scary. I'm mildly claustrophobic too, being crammed in a basement hallway with a bunch of strangers sounds terrible!!

Wendie, Good luck with the bucket & the wine!;)

Not much cooking here this weekend, but a good bit of drinking! Yesterday I just made the mediterranean tuna salad. This evening I'm going to grill DH some jalapeno sausage, (I'll have leftover chicken) & have tomato/mozzarella/basil salad.

Tonight is the Olive spread porkchops I already posted, broccolli risotto, and fire grilled artichokes. Might do funnel cakes for dessert even.

Holy crap! Lori I'm glad your two are ok! that's way to close for comfort. See gambling is good for something. ;) you could have been in the thick of it.

I may send them an email and ask for the recipe. I love that pear wine in fact all the wine from Lynfred is pretty tasty. They are very near to were we ate alas they have a bed and breakfast but no restaurant.

I think Alex is pretty special most of the time.

Lauren Your wings marinade is in the oven (I did put chicken wings in before). It smells wonderful.

Wendie -- Don't worry about us. Do what you need to do to get through the next couple of days and enjoy the rest of the time with your dad.

fingers crossed for All-state this year too

Good luck to her! I'll keep my fingers crossed too.

Nancy -- I am glad Kady had a good recital. I hope she sticks with the dance too, as she seems to have a talent for it.

Maybe I'll win the Mustang that I spent $$$ on this $50 raffle tickets!

Good luck! :thumbsup2 You must be getting excited for your trip. I feel like I am in Florida today...in the 90s and wicked humidity.

What a day it was - Kyle pitched and got his first loss with the Knights.:(

I guess it wasn't a good day for the teams on this thread. I'm sure Kyle will do better next time.

Thanks everyone for the congrats on Liam's hit. He was pretty happy, but he wasn't nearly as excited as Caili. As soon as Liam made it to first base safely, she asked if that meant they got sundaes. When I said yes, she squealed and started jumping up and down and giggling. She's been waiting a while for that hit.

I'm sure you saw the pictures Beck posted of our dinner. It was good. However, I am going to need a snack later. I have guacamole left from yesterday, so I'll have that with some chips.

Lori - Thank God you & Rick are safe. I know we have hurricanes but those tornadoes scare the **** out of me.

Laura - The story about Caili being so excited over Liam's hit had me :rotfl2:

Janice - You know Alex is special!:thumbsup2

Sheryl - A good bit of drinking, eh?:rotfl:

Kyle's team lost again today. They have had 9 errors in two games which is so unlike this team.

Tonight I'm making Boo patties and serving them on onion rolls. I haven't had them for years and while looking for vegetable trays I found them and picked some up. We will have chips with spinach dip to go with it.

I have to tell you guys about yesterday's dinner. We ended up having hamburgers and hot dogs, baked beans, chips, salad, etc. Hee hee hee, a little less than half of the ice cream cake was eaten and.........

Only one serving was left from my dump cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a hit!!!!!!

Morning!

Quick fly by...I am exhausted. We have a visitor in the house last night...A BAT!!! :scared1: Scared the poopy out of me but its out now. What a night! It could actually be made into a sitcom.

We are having burgers...not sure what else. Gotta clean out the fridge/pantry/freezer before we go. Tom is also home today with his ankle. Gonna try and get a cortizone shot today.

Be back later...Have a great day!

We will be at CSR 9/16-9/23. Not really looking forward to the heat :beach: , but free dining works!
Ann

Neat! We will be driving up to WDW and staying at POP Century 9/18-9/21.

It is hot, hot, hot down here in South Florida now - I'm hoping it will be better in September! :sunny:

Kathy- Nice wheels! My SIS IL has one and she loves it. The color os so pretty. I bet Kyle felt badly after the loss. There are more games but I know that Debbie always remembered the ones that she lost and tried to see what changes she could make. No telling her that some you lose, she is a perfectionist, and I bet Kyle is as well.

Lauren- all I a can say is :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Lucas- Weird weather, isn't it? We are Hot Hot Hot here as well. Yesterday it reached 97, then a storm rolled in in the late afternoon and dropped the temp 25 degrees. The day before it was about 30 to 40 degrees cooler :confused3 Today is supposed to be a nightmare.

Laura- Caili is a girl after my own heart :rotfl:

Lori- stay safe out there my friend!

Busy day today. I have to work this morning (I should be there now :rolleyes1) and then cleaning etc. WW WI tonight and a light dinner. Grilled steak and salad, something else for Marisa.

I can just picture you now....:rotfl2:

WFD - Beans & Rice Monday with Italian Sausage

Stay cool! We need some rain desperately. At least there is a chance of rain this week. Fingers crossed.
