I changed my mind on dinner. We're having chicken tacos instead of burgers.

I just found out my next-door neighbors lost their son in a car accident in town last night. The son was a state trooper (he was off-duty) in his early 30s with two children Liam and Caili's age. It's really sad. I'm going to go pick up Liam and Caili from their camps and give each an extra hug.

What a sad story. I will keep the entire family in my prayers.
When you hear something like this you realize no matter what is going on in your life that you are still so blessed.

WFD~ Just a chopped salad....I haven't felt well all day & DH is going to be late so simple & quick is the way to go.

I meant to report on the Turkey Stuffing Bake from last night.....I did use chicken & cheddar and DH raved about it, the left overs went to the office today which is always a great sign!

We are having leftovers again I have a horrible headache. I think I'm going to do just a little computer work then I'm going to veg in front of the tv.

So tonight we're steaming veggies, chicken, garlic(in case it's not a veggie) in lemon pepper seasoning in a steamer bag with brown rice and a big spinach salad with asian ginger vinagrette.

Rick kinda has that face that I imagine on Buddy on "anything but a sammich" night.

I need to do this more often, it's kinda fun!

My heart just aches for them Laura, I just hugged my baby extra tight.

When you hear something like this you realize no matter what is going on in your life that you are still so blessed.

You two expressed my feelings exactly. Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers for the family. They are such nice people. I didn't know the son very well except to say hello, but the parents have been really kind to me. They know I am on my own here with the kids, so I think they sort of look out for us, in an unobtrusive way. I am really sad for them.

Liam's game was canceled tonight due to weather. They are trying to reschedule for tomorrow...yet another dinner interrupted. I am beginning to dislike summer baseball.

I had 2 chicken fingers and a bag of peanut M&Ms at 5pm, a bunch of candy at 7pm (we did a carnival for the kids), 3 asiago potatos at 945pm when I got in from work, and I am about to zap some nachos at 11pm.

I think I mentioned recently that we now have a Seasons Harvest Market, basically a Fresh Market. I've been getting my vegetables and meat there rececently because the quality is awesome, it's delicious, and I can find things there that have been difficult to find in this area.

That said, I made kitten cajun pasta last night using their chicken and smoked sausage. Boy was it good!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight it's leftovers.

Your neighborhood always sounds so close, I imagine that those poor parents will be find comfort in the friends that they have cared for.

What a crazy weather pattern we are in! Our storm roared through last night and today the NW hills are expected to get a ton of rain. I am so sick of this rain and humidity.

My thoughts and prayers are also with the folks in Texas and Mexico feeling the wrath of Hurricane Dolly.

Mine as well. I am not experienced in that kind of storm, thankfully, but it sure did look oppressive.

Last night we had a chicken and veggie dish. I was craving chicken pot pie but I did not want the calories so I made a slimmed down version of the filling and served it over quinoa for us and WW pasta for Buddy and Kady. It was really good. We had salad to go with it. There is a lot left so we are going to have it again tonight.

The Dark Knight was an awesome movie! I have not seen any of the Batman movies since its not my thing but WOW! It was really good. Heath Ledger was amazing! Such a shame to lose him...

I am making braciole, low carb pasta and tossed salad.
