Sound like my DS (2.5). He would talk about the cranes he was seeing outside. Mind you they weren't the living kind (though we did see one, one day), they where the big ones working on the Villas.

These were below our balcony, they were for some exterior painting. We never saw them being used, however we weren't in our room at all during the day. We saw the workers coming out one day, but we were leaving.

Yup, the boy would love this!! He's only 11 months old, but definitely has a thing for trucks and tractors ... and giraffes and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

Maybe this is a strange question but.. does anyone know the type of pillows that they use at Animal Kingdom Lodge? I have been searching for a pillow since we have come home from holidays but have been unable to find one. I have never rested so comfortably as I have at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Maybe it was because I was sooo tired from the parks all day, but I'll never know until I try the pillows at home. Does anyone know? If not , I suppose I could just call AKL.......or book another trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

Sorry if this has been asked before but are there any rooms that accommodate 2adults and 3children at AKL? I read a TR from 2007 where the family of five all stayed in the same room in concierge is this still possible? Thanks in advance for any help given:thumbsup2

From what I have read - No. You would need to reserve one of the AK Villas. The 5th and 6th floor "deluxe" rooms that were originally part of AKL have been converted into the AKV. So there are now only suites and standard rooms thru AKL. The AKV inside the hotel would accomodate more people. I believe the 1-bedroom units have a King bed in Master and then pull-out couch plaus sleeper chair. Hopefully someone else can confirm this.

Yes, you are correct. The studios only sleep 4, but the 1 BR villas (except for value rooms maybe) sleep 5. As you mentioned there is a king bed in the bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room and a pull out chair into a twin bed (I think).

So excited! :cool1: Just added a few nights at AKL in a standard CL room to our summer vacation. We will move over to Poly for a week afterwards. I can't wait to get back there (AKL) - it's been a year now and I miss it :cloud9:
For those of you who've been since then, have there been changes to the CL lounge since the whole 5th/6th floor rooms AKV conversion?

And for those of us that have never stayed on the Club Level but will be real soon....any details or photos would be oh so appreciated. Just can't get enough !:woohoo:

another vote for pics from the current CL rooms...Dec will be our first time ever at AKL and CL:woohoo:

We're going to be staying at AKV in a 1 bedroom on concierge level in 2 weeks! :cool1:

For the first time, we are having to rent an ECV due to my wife injuring her knee. Does anyone know if an ECV can comfortably fit in a 1 bedroom villa and still leave us room to move around? I'm thinking about parking it in the kitchen at night, since we probably won't be using that at all! :thumbsup2

We are hoping to get a king savanna view...my DMom might be coming with us...anyone slept on the daybed? Is it comfy? We just don't know if she will definately be coming or not and don't want 2 queens if she doesn't show...

I rented an ECV last year while staying at the BW and it fit fine in both the 1 BR & the Studio.
We will be staying in the 1 BR at AKL DVC Concierge in December to celebrate my 60th. DH wanted to know why we were getting a kitchen if we were staying Concierge. I explained "I want the extra room" :rotfl2:
Can't wait. :hippie:

Here's Hoping:yay: :cloud9: My "home" is AKL so I called every day at the 11 month mark and was able to get all the days. I think it helped that I wasn't staying the week of Thanksgiving. now were are deciding if we add on a weekend before or after our week. I am thinking after if I can get a good flight to DW on Sunday. However, that will be the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but I am hoping everyone will be coming home from WDW, not going there. I can't wait.

Can someone please tell me where the suites are located? We would like to get a suite (do not know which one) but would like to overlook the zebra (Arusha? section.
Thanks very much

Does anyone have a map of AKR? I would like to see the overall layout to find out what it looks like and where we should ask to be placed if possible.

We would want to be close to the restaurants and/or pool.

Thanks!

Ok I'm in love! :cloud9: Just got my booked itinerary from IPO for my trip in December. CRT, BBB, LTT on MVMCP night, 1900 Park Fare, Boma, Ohana's, Sunrise safari + more all booked!!! :cool1: My 180 day mark isn't even until June 4th.
