I am at AKL right now. They have H2O products that are blue. The ones at Grand Californian are greenish, so they are not the same, but they are nice.

Hope this helps!

What shampoo/conditioner products are supplied in the rooms at the AKL? I have sensitive skin but when we stayed at the Grand Californian at Disneyland last summer we had H2o products which I was OK with. Do they have these products at the AKL or the Mickey shaped bottle ones (which we have had previously at the BCV, although that was years ago?) I am trying to cut down on luggage this trip! If it is the H2o products I will be OK, if not I will have to pack my own shampoo/conditioner!
Thanks.

We have lots of the same questions! I was just thinking the same thing, we usually eat something quick in the room for breakfast. I am now leaning towards just boxing up some stuff from home and sending it UPS. That way I know the kids will eat what I pack (send). Can anyone point me in the direction of the mailing address to Animal Kingdom Lodge????Pretty please??:upsidedow

Be aware that Disney is implementing charges to recieve shipped boxes. We paid $10 when we had a case of water delivered to CSR(I think the prices are based somewhat on weight --not sure though). I think I would have one of the grocery services next time, you can get what you want and apparently the garden grocer only charges 15.00 to deliver unless you spend more than $200. You can call them direct and order beer (as far as I learned on another thread), but the selection of grocery items online is great.
I think the best thing is not having to pack as much for snacks and such.
We have also had myDH take a cab to the Hess gas Station...they have a pretty good grocery selection and we were able to get milk, 1/2& 1/2 and chips and such for the room. but again, Garden grocer is about the same price as taking a cab to HESS.

The GF has that green H2O line...Spa I think. I like things from both lines. The solar gel from the blue line is magic and the foot rub from the Spa line is sooo soothing.

Hope you're having fun, mmmears.:dance3:

Danauk, sorry about that. We've only stayed at the GC once and I don't even know if they had the H2O products there at that point. What a beautiful hotel it is!

We are having a great time!

AKL was amazing. The Sunrise Safari was great and it was sold out yesterday.

Are you there the same time as Momof2Boys, or did you just miss each other?

When you get back, be sure to post some of the pics you took of the SS! :thumbsup2 Have fun!

We checked out yesterday and moved to the Poly. I don't know if we were there at the same time or not?

AKL is wonderful. I didn't want to leave.

At least you moved to the Poly, and not home. :) You like AKL more than the Poly? I can imagine. Would love to read a trip report from you when you get back. How long have you still got left at the Poly?

Momof2Boys posted on april 8th that she was at AKL.

We arrived at AKL on the 9th. I like them both, but I wish we had more days at AKL. I planned 5 days at each, but saved over 1k$ by moving to the Poly 2 days early b/c of the 4/3 deal. I couldn't justify keeping it 5/5.

We are at the Poly for a week. Must have been at AKL at the same time as Mom...

Ah, yes I can totally understand you switched the reservations around with the 4/3 deal. Wow, only 3 days. And I was already worried about finding 7 days (ot counting the first day as plane doesn't touch down untill 7.30 pm) way to little.

Have fun at the Poly!

The Sunrise Safari on Easter Sunday has to be extra special.

I believe that only the convention resorts (CSR, CR, GF, YC, and maybe another one that I'm forgetting here) are charging this fee. AKL does not charge this fee.

This was the case a month ago, anyway. I'm sure someone will correct me if this has changed, but I'm pretty sure this info is correct.

We're back:sad2:

But are busy planning the Thanksgiving trip which helps hold the withdrawl at bay.

We either had perfect line mojo or it really wasn't as crowded as they said it would be.

We were on Kudu trail the first night then Zebra for the rest. We saw way more animals on Kudu but felt Z was much more convenient.

My DD LOVES the Poly :). She loved AKL, too. I know that lots of people don't like it because it's "far" from the parks, and that's why we never tried it before. Well, I think that may be one of the best things about it! We felt like it was an oasis from the crowds and a destination unto itself.

The busses weren't bad at all (and this is coming from someone who has avoided all Disney busses since NYE 1994!).

Yes, the Sunrise Safari was very special. I am so glad that we could experience it. I've been wondering if I should have booked the WDE as well.

Hi!!
I loved Kudu in July, after having always requested Zebra for convenience to pool, etc. I'm sorry you had to move during your stay. That's not the most relaxing. I totally agree re. AKL being an oasis :cloud9: Isn't it wonderful there?

So happy that DD loves the Poly. YAY!

We've really enjoyed all the resorts we've stayed at: GF, YC, Poly and AKL. We were trying to figure out which was our favorite and it seems we don't have one.;) We love the GCH in Disneyland, too. None are as fancy or service oriented as other places we stay, but staying at Disney has it's own kind of magic! :)

Maybe you can still do the WDE through the Polynesian concierge.

I'm glad you're having such a great trip! We love AKL, the Polynesian and GF too. All are great resorts.

that's what I was thinking ;). But I wasn't sure if it was worth it or not.
