I am always looking for good material to flesh out the presentations. Anyone that wants to send me digital pics that focus on elements of the resorts, or parks send me a PM.

I have park presentations too, but I don't have them posted right now. I have to trim here and there to fit them within my storage quota.

You betcha. I'll be taking a few pictures you can add.

Hopefully dd will take some of the Pirates cruise.

I have seen many pics of the Pirates of the Carribean and The Great Movie Ride. I love taking pics in there as well as in Figment. Will they get on the picture taker for doing this?? I can't wait till my trip...I also bookmarked Steven's page to keep myself updated and ready to go in January!!!:earboy2: :rolleyes1

BaciBecky,

I did request kingbed, non-smoking, and in the 50's building, but when I got my confirmation letter in the mail it only showed the no smoking request which is the most important thing to us.

Having never stayed there I really didnt know what floor to ask for.

I'm pretty sure that all you see on the reservation is the non-smoking request. But they have a pplace for the other requests that do not show up. I always worry about that so I asked :)

I hope you get a great location and a king bed!!

When do you go? Will look forward to hearing all about the trip!

We spent just over a week at the Pop Century a couple of weeks ago, and had a great time! We were in the 50's with a 4th floor lake view, all which we had requested. When we got there they said they had our requested room ready, but when we went to it it was a pool view and not lake. But we headed back to the front desk and they changed us to our request right away. they even had the second rooom ready by 12:30 PM. I loved the lake view, it made it feel more like a moderate. i also loved my first time not on the ground floor, and will continue to request upper floors from now on. The bonus is that I got some exercise- we only took the elevators with the luggage. We spent a lot of time at the food court, I thought they had great choices ( much better than at POR, which is where we usually stay). We certainly got our money's worth from the mugs!! The 50's were a great location, and I did notice that there were a lot of rooms in the 50's and 70's that were much closer to the food court/check in/busses that a lot of the rooms in the back of the 60's. i would never recommend spending the $10 for a preferred room, but that's me. We were there for hurricane Jeanne, and it wasn't bad at all. There were people in the Bowling pool all during the storm, and some people waliking around. We mostly slept, and when the food court opened we sat there most of the evening and played cards for the change in scenery. The next day was absolutely beautiful. The only damage we saw were some uprooted trees and broken bushes. There was a lot of debris on the road, but that's it. Disney sure is well prepared. The waits at the food court weren't even excessive when everyone was going crazy stocking up like we would never be able to eat again or when they reopened. I would recommend this resort to anyone who doesn't want to spend the money on a moderate or delux resort, it's much better than the All Stars IMHO, and we had a great stay. I'll be happy to answer any questions anyone might have, if you hung in for this entire post.

With a total of 144 pages on this subject, I have my work cut out for me. We plan on staying at PC in June and it looks like it will take most of that time just to go through all of this great info.

Thanks for all of the time an energy everyone has put into this thread!!!!

By the way. Is anyone else planning on staying at PC in June 2005? That is besides ChairborneRangr and "100 of his closest friends" lol.

We will be at WDW, but unfortunately they don't do groups at Pop.

We will be at ASMo. Maybe we will cross paths. Our tentative itinerary is:
•(W)6/15 Arrive All-Star Movies PM
•(Th)6/16 Animal Kingdom till 430pm [Park Hopper Day]
–Epcot for World Showcase, Dinner and Illuminations.
–Return to Resort between 930 and 10pm
•(F)6/17 Magic Kingdom [Park Hopper Day]
–Suggested mid-day break for small children
–“Wishes” Fireworks show, and “kiss goodnight” return to resort ~11pm
•(Sa)6/18 Typhoon Lagoon [Plus Day]
–Hours 9am to 7pm (typical stay 9-2 or 2-7)
–Most people will be done in 5 hours. Great night to go to a resort for dinner. I suggest a 7pm priority seating arrangement.
•(Su)6/19 AM Church, PM DisneyQuest [Plus Day]
–Church
–After church we will be going to DisneyQuest. Not interested in DQ? There are a ton of other things to do outside the parks. See “other Activities”
•(M)6/20 Studios [Park Hopper Day]

I feel like such a dunce, but I still can't see the slide show. I'm at school on a network, but we have cable and brand new computers, and I don't usually have problems unless I need a new version of flash or shockwave or something. When it opens, it's a black screen with the list at the side. I try clicking on the items in the list, and there is a white flash, then black again. I tried clicking on the arrows at the bottom and the same thing happened. I'm sorry to bug you guys about it, but I just can't imagine what it is!!

Thanks

strange... It is just html with .jpg pictures arranged in a slideshow. Could they be filtered for some reason? what version of IE are you using? I just brought the presentation up on a workstation I am building that has just the OS and IE, no plugins, no software loaded etc. It came right up. If you can provide a little more info I may be able to help. If you are using Netscape, I have no idea. I don't ever use that.

It is version 6.0 of IE. I don't know why they could be filtered.

I also love the pics of W and Pres. Reagan!!! I'm looking forward to visiting the Hall of Pres to see George W speak!!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to chime in about tbe wonderful experience we had staying at POP Century.

We arrived on Sept 28 and stayed til Oct. 5. We stayed in 70's area building 10 room # 0361. This a corner room that faced the 60's pool and main building.

One thing I want everyone to know is that even though we were a standard building or area, the distance to Everything Pop adn bus stops. We about the same distance in walking as the 60's (perferred rooms). Now, I know the further back from where we were will add to your walking but it isn't as bad as the map makes it appear to be.

If you want to pay more for a perferred room, i would request a room in building 10 and a room ending with xx61. these seem to be the best and i requested a room closer to Everything POP and this was the room she gave us. Of course the odds of you getting these rooms is better in the off-season.

Anyway... We were very pleasantly surprised with the room and with the choices of foods in commissary. The cast Members were great and treated us like we were staying at the Grand Floridian. If we weren't looking into buying into DVC, we would stay there again.

Thanks again to all of you guys for the helpful advice I got in this forum and if anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them for you or offer suggestions.

Thanks again
Leah's Dad

All the Disney pools are heated. That really won't be a problem. What will is leaving the warm pool into the chilly air. Have a robe or BIG towel to keep warm.

My sister suggested we take her small dorm sized microwave. Anyone see any problems with this, we are driving and would have room.

Just don't tell anyone... :)

We brought hot plates and ice tea makers. We always have breakfast in the room.
