Thanks much!

After Sept 11th, construction was halted for all, and then resumed for only Phase I. If Sept 11th had not happened, both would be open right now.

Just a quick question for upcoming first trip to POP...

Are there hairdryers in the rooms?

Hairdryers are available upon request, although there is a rumor that they might slowly be putting them into all of the rooms, similar to the ironing boards. But at any rate, if one isn't there, just call Housekeeping, and it'll be there shortly. And don't worry about them running out, they never will. :)

You're back! Miss your quick answers and your quicker wit! Hope that means that your life is now full of things other than just work all the time, or do you just spend the same amount of time wearing Purple Pants now? Or is it too much class and studying? Either way, it's good to see you're still out there and posting when you have the time, and that we haven't burned you out completely yet with all of our endless questions.

I'm working 6 days in buses, versus 5 days at Pop. Plus, now I work nights instead of days... And, to top it all off, I'm taking three killer classes, instead of two, with 3x as many exams. BLAH!!! lol

Thought I'd repeat for thsoe who missed it that we had a hairdyer in the POP room last FEb abd some others have posted the same, so maybe they are all in now. We also had an ironing board. 50's building 2.

Thank you, Tyler, for the explanation of why Legendary was held up. I do hope they decide to finish it - I'm looking forward tos tyaung there soon after it opens -as I;m sure other POP fans.

We were just there 2 weeks ago in the 70's section, and our room did not have a hairdryer, so they must still be in the progress of putting them in all the rooms :)

5 more days and pop century here I come!!

When I first made my reservations, the CM suggested, and did put, a request for the 70s. Not sure if that's the best option for us though, maybe 50s would be better.

Soo... we're arriving Orlando Fri night at 11 and staying offsite, and then planning on checking out early and heading for Pop! My thought is to just show up early and walk around and get a real feel for what we would like and then go to the checkout desk and put in a request as we checkin informally.

Is there a flaw in this plan? Thanks!

Btw, it's been so nice to "plan" with y'all, even though I mostly lurk!

Can't really share too much with DH :) he just doesn't want to hear it.

Candleshoe,

We're checing in Friday am and have requested 70's building, that's where we stayed in January and really liked it. Maybe we'll be neighbors, because you never know where a vacancy will be.

Oh Tyler, my Captain (Dead Poets Society)...

Anyway, I posted a Q over at the parks forum regarding merchandise returns. A fellow Disser responded that merchandise purchased at the parks or DTD can be returned to resort gift shops. Is this true?

I love that movie... one of my all time favorites, for many reasons...

As for the returns, as long as it was bought from a WDW operated shop, andyou have your reciept, yes, you should be able to bring it back to any WDW operated gift shop. (Operating Participants do not count... ie: Virgin Megastore, Arribas Bros, etc...)

Thanks Tyler!!!

I like it to. Been awhile since I've seen it though.

Robin Williams is an amazing actor.

Hard to believe that the same person that was in Good Will Hunting was also Mork.

Hi, Sherry!

When you get to the POP go ahead and check-in (unless you want to have a look at the 50's and 70's locations first), even if it's early they will check you in and you never know, a room might be available!

Hope you enjoy the POP!:sunny: :wave2:

This may be a silly question to those who have been to WDW many times, but I have never stayed on-site and have never used disney transportation before so I dont know. Do certain buses from POP go to each park or does each bus stop at each park? Does 1 bus go to MGM and then another go to Epcot?

Is this question making any sense?

Hi!

Not a silly question at all - there are no silly questions!

Each resort has a bus stop area and buses will come for each Park, Downtown Disney and water parks (monorial resorts do not have MK or EPCOT buses).

The POP does not share buses with another resort so all buses go directly to a Park - there are signs at each bus stop, so you will know where to wait. When returning to the resort, follow the signs to the POP Century bus stop and a bus will come to take you back!

At the end of the day at Park closing the bus lines can be long - sometimes it a shcok to see how long the line can be for a bus, but it tends to move quickly most of the time. I've never waited long. Disney has an excellent bus system.

Hope you enjoy the convenience and magic of staying on site! Have you requested a room location , floor or non-smoking? It's never too late to call CRO (or the resort 3-5 days before arrival) to add a request. I think it's always wise to have a request noted. Even Disney Resorts have room location that would not be a first choice :)

p.s. OH! Don't forget to visit other resorts if you have time! It can be fun - esp the monorial resorts. They are beautiful! When I'm not staying on the monorail I try to go over to visit the gifts shops or have lunch - or you can just walk around:)

One tip about the buses -- Each bus has a bright orange LED destination sign on the front and on the side by the front door. That sign will tell you exactly where its going. Remember, if it doesn't say it, it doesn't go there. :)

Does anybody know roughly how long it takes to get from Pop to each park so we plan our time in the morning?

Hey, Tyler ~ what is your bus route now? So we can keep an eye to say hello next visit!

:wave2:

phabric... Driving or riding the bus? First of all, I would highly recommend to ALWAYS give yourself extra time in the morning! Because things always come up, such as getting everything together, getting kids ready, grabbing a bite to eat, and FINALLY getting out the door! I try to plan ahead and schedule accordingly, but we always end up leaving past our 'scheduled' time!
