Luggage Assistance is open until 10:00 Sun-Thurs, and until Midnight on Friday & Saturday. After those hours, you can sign out a luggage cart from the front desk. If you really need it, they can find someone to help you to your room, but depending on how busy they are, it might be a little bit.

Do you have a copy of the breakfast menu at the food court?
It's mostly typical breakfast fare... Pop Waffles, omelettes, hash browns, bacon, sausage, fruit, breakfast pizzas, etc...

What is the best way to get from Pop to a 9:00 breakfast at Cape May?
Take the Disney-MGM Studios bus and let the driver know you need to get to the Beach Club. Most times they can take you direct, but there are times when they are unable to. In that case, take the boat from the Studios to the Beach Club. DO NOT take the bus to Epcot... it will not get you to where you need to go.

We paid for the preferred room location. We're only there 2 nights, so it was only $20 bucks. Mostly, we're hoping for something close to the main building since we are arriving late and will have a baby and lots of luggage to drag around. Any suggestions for making a request?
You'll be guaranteed a room in building 4 or 5 (60's). Due to your late check in, the likelihood of getting some requests might not be so great... it all depends on occupancy.

We just returned from our Pop/Disney trip and we had the most fantastic time!

I really do believe I need a vacation to rest from our vacation!

We had a great room in the 70's(6209) right behind the dancing logos on the 2nd floor. It was a perfect location and easy to find our room when we were returning from the parks at midnight!

I will go into more details when I get some sleep but the advice I was given off this board was right on every time and made our trip so much more wonderful!

DH has already suggested that I get to work planning another trip!

We did use the LYNX buses to and from the airport and it was very simple and cost us a total of $5. round trip! What a deal!

I will write more after I get a few hours rest! I will even tell you why I now love rhinos! What an experience!

Just thought of another question concerning bus transportation---does any bus go from Pop to Downtown Disney? If so, how often to they run?

I had a few ?'s that I was hoping to get answered here goes...

-if the fridge is needed for medical reasons do I need to send proof prior to arrival? or do I just call CRO and let them know that we need one?

-does anyone know the approximate distance around the perimeter of the resort?

-what is the size of the in room safe? dh laptop is 11 x 14 x 3 and he is concerned that it won't fit (i asked this before and never got a response so maybe no one really knows the answer)?!

TIA-
ahilly

Does anyone know if 6411 and 6412 are connecting non-smoking rooms?

Also I am concerned about the non-smoking rooms smelling like smoke as one of the other posts said. I have asthma and smoke sometimes triggers an attact. Any sugestions?

Yo Tyler! A couple more questions:

If I recall on one of the early pages of this forum you are training for the front desk (forgive me if I'm wrong). I have read that the resort pass can also be used to make purchases throughout WDW if a credit card number is provided. To the point, I don't have a credit card (I'm afraid I'll use it too much) but I will be bringing travler's checks. So,

1. Instead of counter-signing the checks throughout my stay, can I apply them to my resort ID when I check in and use it for meals, purchases, etc. and apply more when necessary?

2. Are there any places in WDW that using my resort ID will not work?

I had some other question for you but I can't think of it right now.

POP CENTURY, HERE I COME!!!!! Eventually.

AHilly,

We had a fridge last year when we went. When I made the reservation, I told them what medical reason it was for and that was it. When we got to the resort, it was in the room when we checked in. They never asked about it again and we were not charged the $10/day. I'm sure they have the right to see the medication for proof but they never asked us.
We are going again in December and when I made the reservation, again, I told them we needed a fridge for a such and such medical reason and she added it to my reservation. No proof needed.

Lynn,,what i'd do,,is reiterate you want non smoking. Then,,if your room does smell like smoke,,ask to be moved. W/my brothers room,,it was the weirdest thing. It didn't smell like smoke until the following morning. The day we arrived,,and that evening,it didn't smell. I walked in the next morning, and said "whats that smell?!" We thought maybe it was the in the sheets, and didn't come out til they were opened up,but that sounds silly. I noticed it for the rest of the visit. It wasn't a "fresh" smoke smell,,but a "stale" smoke smell. Each room seems to have its own a/c,so i don't think it came thru there. Our whole floor had the non smoking sticker on the doors, but i swear i saw a gal smoking in her doorway once. The hotel can't do much,i guess,if they don't see it. But if your room smells,,ask for a different one. Our room didn't smell at all. And they're very accommodating. You'll have a great time!!

About the room safe,,i don't know the exact dimensions,,we didn't use it,but i remember thinking "man! that isn't very big". Its shaped like a rectangle,,and is quite thin. Hopefully Tyler can give exact dimensions.

xx11 and xx12 will not be connecting rooms, in any building or on any floor. As for non-smoking, that information isn't actually available to me on this computer.

Well, see, when I was first brought over to Pop Century, I was told I'd be working Front Office... (Actually, my letter said "Guest Services") Front Office can include any position on the front desk, the back office, and in the case of a value resort, luggage assistance, which is where I ended up for my "opening" position. Starting in January, we all started to get cross trained, and moved all around. However, I have scheduling conflicts with the front desk class at Disney University, so I won't be able to attend that class until May or June. It's fine with me, because I'm quite happy in Luggage Assistance, now that I'm a dispatcher. (which makes me harder to find, unless you touch the "Luggage" button on your phone)

However, I can still answer your questions. YES! You can use your "Key to the World" for charging! It will be accepted at all theme park merchandise and food & beverage locations, Downtown Disney, and all Disney Resort merchandise and food & beverage locations. (Swan/Dolphin excluded). You can also use it at a growing number of carts around the parks, thanks to wireless technology.

And YES! You can use cash or travellers checks to create debit like charging privledges. I do remember hearing about that during our pre-opening meetings. :)

I saw a photo of a twister board on the ground with the spinner planted so it looks like you can really play. Does anyone know where this is at?

There are two spongy twister boards located in the 70's courtyard, near the disco and the foosball areas.

I am trying to show someone the fantasmic video Tyler put together and I cannot find it on this thread... can someone help?

Can someone please tell me about the playground ?
Is the "pop jet" area between the two 70's buildings?
Leaving in 4 days and getting very excited!!

Thank You!

Could someone please tell me, what is the easiest way to get to Comptemporary from PC.

Thanks
