You can take a bus to the MK then the monorail to the Poly.

Hello everyone :) I have been reading this thread for weeks and I finally found a question that hasn't been answered! Anyone is welcome to try to help but I think Tyler (or another CM) may be best able to answer.

This is a quote from Tyler
You'll be guaranteed a room in building 4 or 5 (60's). Due to your late check in, the likelihood of getting some requests might not be so great... it all depends on occupancy.

My question is....I've read that the room controller assigns rooms around a week prior to arrival then why would it matter what time you check in?

If our room is pre-assigned then it should be okay that we check-in after 3, right???

Because even if the assigner does pre-assign rooms, someone who checks in early could make a request at the desk, and because you are not there yet, they will bump you off of that request, and grant the one that has arrived.

Also, folks can extend their stay unexpectedly and still be in the room that you were assigned, so then that messes everything up.

Believe it or not, even if the resort is booked solid, if a guest insists, they can extend their stay indefinitely as long as they keep paying for it.

Obviously the resort can tell them that they are booked solid and ask them to move elsewhere, but the law states they have to let them stay if the guest insists.

Does anyone know what the groundfloor room numbers are in building 4 and 5 starting with the play doh and Baloo icons to the lake?

The room controller does not assign everyones room. Most of the rooms are picked by the computer, as folks are checking in. The computer is programmed to auto select the closest available clean room. So, unless a reservation has a closed or blocked room, it'll be done by the computer.

Your room assignment could be preassigned, but then changed for any number of reasons.

Room numbers are Building number, floor number, and then room number. We have 72 rooms per floor. So, rooms would be 4101-4172 and 5101-5172.

Hello,

I looked around on the Disabilites board, but was unable to find an answer to this question. Does anyone know if PoP Century has wheelchairs that they let guests use? If so, do they let you take it to the parks as well? I have heard that the resorts will sometimes provide you with a wheelchair at no cost.

Thanks,

awdwnut

We have a LIMITED supply of courtesy wheelchairs available to borrow. They are free to use for the length of stay, and can be taken to the parks. They are first come, first serve, and we sometimes do run out.

Thanks for the speedy response but....drat!! Not the answers I was hoping for

We will be arriving late on Easter Sunday ~ oh well, at least I was able to secure a preferred room.

I was just going to request a non-smoking room because that's all it usually takes. But, my daughter is severely allergic to cigarette smoke. So, it is more than a general request. Should I get a doctors note? Or should I just fax a note over to the resort once it gets closer?

Thanks everyone ~ I can't wait till Easter to stay at Pop Century (and I'll finally be able to drink soda's again...lol)

We just returned Sunday from Pop. DH was skeptical... Let's just say... looks like our December trip will be at Pop. It was great. Thanks Tyler for all the great info you've given us. It helped me convince DH to stay there and now we can't wait to go back. It was our first stay in a value resort and glad that it turned out so well.

Now I remember my other question. What about shipping souveniers and the like back home? I have the foggiest idea what I may find and get but no room in the suitcase. Does Pop deal with anything like that?

One more: You can give me a link to the proper thread if you wish but the afternooon I arrive I am tempted to go to the POR and take the water shuttle all the way down to Downtown Disney. I was wondering if you know how long the ride would be? I doubt the pilot will be going 45 mph on the river.

While I'm posting, Eventhough the CMs may not care for it but there is so much on this board of people asking about non-smoking rooms that Disney should have a smokers only resort (close to a hospital) and a non-smokers only resort. Just a spontaneous thought.

One last thing. If you are on vacation this week, you have already done so much for everyone on this thread that you should have taken a break from us as well. Now that Pop is open more and more guests can help answer the simpler questions.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

Well, as of tomorrow morning we will be on our way to Pop Century, we should be arriving before 10:00a.m. Will try and say Hi, Tyler:wave: thanks for all the great information and all that you do.

I'm using a TA, and she told me that the request for a non-smoking room should be enough, but having the doctor's note would be added "insurance".

Does anyone know what the official check in time is for Pop? I have seen 3:00 and 4:00 on all different web sites and tour books.

Has the parking problems/issues been resolved at Pop Century? And, if we would like a quiet area (is that possible) nearer to the parking area that is not packed, what area should we try for? Being close to the food court is not important to us and walking is not an issue either. Just would like to be near one of the pools but in a quieter building near parking....is there such a place?
