I think the movies vary depending on the time of year - when we were there in March, they definately weren't showing them every night -- but they will give you a schedule.

Greetings from the Poly. It's just lovely here and the girls love the pool. One thing, found the teeniest lizard in my bathroom hiding behind the toilet just a few minutes ago.
Let's hope they can find him and move him before my mom sees him.

We're on our way--up early tomorrow for our 7am flight to Orlando--be at the Poly 11-1130am!!!! I can't believe it's finally here after all the waiting!!

I believe it was nightly when we were there, but it was Spring Break so everything was open late for the holiday. The movies were listed on the Poly sheet of activities that they gave us when we checked-in.

On my March activity sheet they are listed as 8pm. In summer it may be more like 9pm b/c of the light

Hey all!

So since Monday I have been e-mailing the Poly IPO about our stay in October and I have not been getting the auto-response nor any reply from the IPO which is not been the norm. Has anyone else had this issue lately?

I am actually replying to their e-mail so I know I have the correct e-mail address. I guess I will call them later. We are just requesting two ADR's so it is not a big deal.

Does anyone know how to make a certain building request at the Poly? I use an ecv to get around so which building would be best to request and which floor? Ground floor or above? We have a ressie for MK view. TIA. We have waited so long to get to stay at the Poly I want it to be perfect for our 38th anniversary.

He's back!!

Well I thought my last news posting would have been the last one before I got back from my trip but I have some great news to post before I go. So many of you wrote me in response to my last years news about Kaleo no longer playing at the Polynesian. Well HE IS BACK!! Not only is he doing concerts in other locations but you can see him from time to time at ‘Ohana and even playing at the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. If you have not done this dinner show you should really try it. I know it gets mixed reviews but I have always enjoyed the food and entertainment.


Also Kaleo has a request that he would like me to pass along to the readers. He would like to get copies of photos that guests have of him with other guests so he can put them on his web site. If you have a photo with Kaleo, please send it to him by visiting his web site and getting his email address.

I did not post the e-mail address so I don't get in trouble, but you can read the message on Steve's site! This is awesome news for Kaleo and us fans!

I think that just proves the resort is authentically Polynesian!

We just got back from Hawaii where we stayed with our family who live there. They had tiny lizards all around. In fact, I was warned not to go to bed with an open cup of water at my bedside (as is my habit) because I may find a lizard in it when I went to drink from it! Luckily, that never happened!

So during our Aug. trip to the Poly, at least I will be prepared for possible lizards!

About how long does the torch lighting ceremony last? We have 6:45 reservations for Chef Mickey's on the night we arrive. I was wondering if we'll have time to catch the torch lighting ceremony that night before we head off for dinner....

It was gone briefly due to cutbacks, then returned due to guests' complaints! In April, it was back, 5 nights a week I think. We went one night to watch it and it was much nicer and more fun than we expected. Definitely worth your time!

Definitely check it out! There's conch blowing, torch lighting, and a fire-dance. Wish we saw it earlier in our week at the Poly, since we would have returned a second night to watch it again!

The front entrance is when you walk in from the parking lot, so the check-in desk will be on the right hand side.
