Maybe it was however when it comes to the classic cartoon channel which is channel 96, you think all the resorts should have it since the channel listings are exactly the same. Although when it comes to the classic cartoon channel others have posted they needed to press 96, where as others can just do channel up or down if they wanted to. So for those who didn't see it while changing the channel maybe they needed to press the numbers on the remote.

You would think so, wouldn't you. But it is not the case. I tried both scrolling and entering in the numbers at AKL and had no luck. I asked a concierge about it and was told they could no longer show it...some kind of propriety issue. They can't even show it in the lounge anymore although it is on the lobby TV. It is probably good for the concierge staff that it is not shown there anymore though. It would drive me loopy to hear the same cartoons from 7am-10pm.:rolleyes1

Thanks for the close-up!:thumbsup2
Looks easy enough to duplicate. Of course now I just have to find the time between my obsessive planning, making trip journals for the girls, everyone's Halloween costumes, oh and all the real life stuff that I guess I should take care of. :rotfl:

Last year, there was a new trick or treat bag available at many shops. It was one of those available for $10 (or something like that) with a purchase deals. I hope they offer bags again this year...so cute. I hung one on our front door on Halloween and gave it to a junior high age girl who was trick or treating with a plastic bag.:rotfl:

1. Hide and seek, let your adventure begin! If you can find these silly tikis you surely will win!

That is awesome...so creative!:wizard:

Well, we are putting the bags in the car for the morning trip to the airport. I thought I log on and thank everyone on Dis, in particular the Poly thread group. I don't post all that much but I have been reading the thread since I booked the trip a few months ago and it has been great. Thanks to all for helping me plan a wonderful trip. I will try to post a little while I am down there.:banana::cheer2::cheer2::cool1::cool1:

Have safe travels and a wonderful vacation!:cheer2::cheer2:
Looking forward to your reports.:surfweb:

:banana:Woo HOO:banana:! We just added Friday night at POFQ so we can arrive at the Poly earrrrrrrly Sat morning for our stay. We're driving :drive:down from SC so why waste our first day driving!

I'm guessing it's OK to show up early at CL so we can hit the lounge and parks runnin. (And I said I was going to relax and go slow this trip).

I had to tell someone and thought my 'family' would understand! (Even my DW rolled her eyes:duck:).

I think every one of us understands! :grouphug: Sounds like a perfect way to start your vacation.

That's weird how the AKL can show it in their lobby, but not on the TV's in their guest rooms.

I agree.

Perhaps it has changed by now. The concierge with whom I spoke called a manager and related that the channel was available in some other resorts. Someone was going to look into it.

Okay, "Flopyeye" S.C.? I don't know where that is, but I have family in Hampton! But seriously! I thought Ok got the award for "unusual" town's names such as: Slapout, Disney (yes, named after you know who), Maude, Pink, Frogville, Tussey, Tom, Karma, Bushyhead, Bugtussle, Hoot Owl, I could go on all day but I don't want to start an "odd names' war!

P.S. I like you plan. Any extra nights at Disney gets my vote.

We just did the same thing. We stayed at the GF in the RPC, and decided we didn't want to arrive late. We are in NC. So very last minute we decided to head down a day early and stayed at the Double Tree Suites for a night (arrived there at about 11:00p.m.) and then headed over to the GF by about 10:00 or so the next morning. We had 3 rooms and one of them was actually ready already so the CM took us right up to it. So cool and definitely glad we didn't waste our first day at the GF by arriving later in the day.

Have a wonderful trip!!!!!!!!!!

It makes good economic sense to me. If I'm spending big bucks on a deluxe resort, I don't want to check in just in time to fall into bed. :rotfl:

I'm so excited, I just had to share it with you all! We (DH, DS and myself)had an AWESOME trip last August for my 40th bday. We did a cruise and a split stay--CR for a few days before the cruise, then AKL and Poly after the cruise. We loved it so much we booked another cruise for this August. However, after the whole economy went south (and we have our own business) we decided to put off the trip until next year. We moved the cruise ressie and hadn't made hotel yet...this was back in April. Well, things are looking better for us and we can breathe again. So we decided, just this weekend, to take a shorter trip to WDW.:dance3::yay::cool1: I'm so happy!

We called and got four nights at YC CL and four nights at Poly CL. We got that great 35% off rate.

Now all I have to do is spend the next few weeks on the treadmill so I can sit by the pool without scaring anyone. :scared1: Just kidding. I'd have a great time anyway.

Thanks for letting me share.

HI, I just wanted to chime in on the arriving late thing --

Normally, we fly early a.m. and check into our resort by 10am, but for the past couple of times we do "girls trips" we fly down the night before -- in march, we arrived at the Poly at about 9:00pm.

We hit it in time to have snacks at the CL and unwind, then we headed to bed -- yes, it was very expensive to lay down there and sleep right after we arrived, LOL, however, i have to tell you -- it was one of the best nights sleeps that i have gotten in WDW --we had ground floor of the Hawaii building, facing the Castle -- And i just laid there - and watched the castle all lit up, and the Tiki Torches were lit along the path - and it just illuminated the room with a soft firelight it put me to sleep just watching the flames dance around.. (we sleep with our curtains open when we are Lagoon view!)

It was just so relaxing, and peaceful, i remember it like it was yesterday - and i can't wait to get to go back in 2 weeks at the same time, in the same building, same floor - castle view, and do it all again....

So, for us, it was totally worth it for the $$$ to spend the night before there - and we awoke early, well rested, and ready to hit the lounge for breakfast!!

Woohoo! Going back to the Poly next June! DD is graduating H.S. and we're heading down to celebrate! Splitting with the Dolphin, can't wait!

Does anyone know if they still show movies on the beach either at the Poly or GF? I saw pictures of it and it looked too cool. :cool2:

In march they had it at the GF beach.. don't remember it ever being at the Poly when we were there.. but definately the GF.

Yes, they do. They are on the beach between the GF & the Poly (closer to the GF, but a beautiful walk from the Poly). GF & Poly guests are invited.:)

Greetings from the Poly. It's just lovely here and the girls love the pool. One thing, found the teeniest lizard in my bathroom hiding behind the toilet just a few minutes ago.
Let's hope they can find him and move him before my mom sees him.

She is DEATHLY afraid of lizards. We'd have to move once she came to...

Lucky! Have a wonderful time at the Poly -- it's just so relaxing there!:cloud9: Oh -- and I'm jealous of your flight times -- we leave early morning like you, but we don't get to check in until 8:30 or 9pm...:sad2:

I believe it was nightly when we were there, but it was Spring Break so everything was open late for the holiday. The movies were listed on the Poly sheet of activities that they gave us when we checked-in.
