The *ALL NEW* Polynesian Resort FAQ thread - *APRIL 2009*

That was my thoughts exactly on the dining plan. DH loves going to Disney, hates the ADR system. He wants to go with the flow...not have to be somewhere to eat, especially if we are not hungry.

We have stayed twice with the DDP and have had trouble using up all the credits as it is. I am looking forward to the lounge offerings as well and frankly, DD eats PB&J and Goldfish crackers for lunch just about every day so she will do just fine with that. She was tired of the kids menu picks by the end of our last trip as well as all the restaruants seem to offer the same thing for kids.

I am really excited to stay club level this trip. :woohoo: Our one night experience there in December was so nice, an entire stay will be magical.:cloud9:

It sounds like it will be a great match for you. One of the nicest things was that the lounge was so close to the volcano pool. DD would get the munchies while swimming, and I would get thirsty, and it took no time at all to run up the stairs and grab some iced tea and goldfish crackers.:goodvibes The one time we went to CC's instead it too forever...:sad2: I think that the Poly club lounge is the most conveniently located lounge that we've ever been to!

Got my call today that our Behind the Steam Train Tour for Sept 21st is cancelled. We had originally added a day to the front of our stay to accomodate the tour but had recently been trying to add a day onto the end and cancel that first day (in other words move ressie from 19-27 to 20-28) but WDW didn't have the 28th available for our code for the Poly.
I got to thinkin' ( which occ. gets me in trouble) that I would like to stay at BLT MK view and watch Wishes from our balcony and relax at their pool.
So today I revamped my plan and now we check into Poly on 21st and checkout of Poly and into BLT on the 27th. Just one night at BLT and we'll have a more relaxed day. I know some of you wouldn't make the move for just one night but we pack light and moving is no big deal for just the two of us.
BTW- 2 other things to take into consideration- I can fly cheaper on Monday than Sunday and I got 40% off with a code I have. Just thought I'd better take advantage of the code while I have it.
I had to rearrange a couple of dining reservations but you gotta love the new on-line dining system. I played around with restaurants and times and I'm all set.:woohoo::yay:

Well I finally received a pin code for a 4/5 stay for dates in Oct with free dining for a family of 4. Too bad I can't use the offer. The price wasn't bad for 4 people.

I'm guessing the answer is no on this, but I'll ask anyways ...
I'm just curious if there is any way that you can hear the music for the fireworks if you're watching them from your room (ie. through one of the tv channels or something?)

No, nothing through the TV. You can possibly hear them from your balcony if you are close enough to one of the beaches and the speakers are working in that area.

Me too! I have gotten three (yes folks, three!) different mailings and/or email offers about the free dining through December and now that I'm finally getting pin codes, I can't use them. I'm hoping that whatever mailing list I am currently on, they keep em coming...I'm waiting for something for February 2010 so I can spend the whole week at the Poly instead of doing a split stay! I go on Tikiman's site daily so I can pull up the jukebox and listen to the Poly music and close my eyes, and pretend I'm sitting on that white sand beach watching the colors of the castle changing! seven more months and counting!

Hey! I just realized this is my 1001 post and it's my 5th anniversary month of being on the DIS!

And in the infamous words of London Tipton, "Yay, me!" (Suite Life of Zach and Cody)

Oh well, I figured as much. We've booked MK view and have requested Tahiti. I guess we'll just have to hope the speakers on the Tahiti beach are working and cranked!
Thanks anyways! :)

If you turn on channel 19 during Wishes they play the whole song, so you don't need to hear them from the speakers.

Oh, great! Thanks! :thumbsup2
My DH has been dreaming about sitting on his balcony and watching the fireworks. It will be so much more enjoyable for him with the music! :rotfl:

See you learn something new all the time. My apologies for giving incorrect info! :worship: I learned something new myself! Thanks CR Fan! :flower3:

Where is the jukebox? I would love to know!

Hi Carrie772! I listen to this every day and really brings me back to the ambience of the Poly :) Go to tikimanpages.com and scroll all the way down to the very bottom. In the middle you'll see jukebox, and below that in small white writing it says open jukebox in new window. If you click on that, the loop of music will just keep playing continually. Enjoy! I know I do!

Are you sure this is true at the Polynesian, CRFan? I've tried and not been able to find it. I know you've posted that it is done at the CR. Maybe it is a recent addition at the Polynesian...or at least since I tried last.

Thanks! I love the lanai song. It just reminds me of a lovely Hawaiian vacation. It makes me think of how I feel when I enter the GCH and all my cares go away!

It didn't work in April when we stayed at the Poly. The CMs I asked said they didn't know anything about it.

I remember being there when my family and I stayed at the Polynesian in December 2007.

Maybe it was available for a short time then.

It is funny how the channels vary from resort to resort. This year we were able to get the cartoon loop at the Polynesian and BCV but not AKV. I think we were able to get it at the GF, too.
