We regularly take taxi's at WDW(even though we also have a car), Usually after Illuminations or trying to get to a dinner reservation on time. From WL and Poly about $12.00 + tip to Epcot if I recall correctly. Well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for all the tips on this thread. :)

We stayed at the CR MK tower room from 10/27-11/2. We requested an odd numbered room away from Chef Mickey's & it was granted. We were on the
7th floor & found it to be a perfect location (& quiet). We ate breakfast a few times at the Contempo Cafe & everything was good. The coffee was pretty good & their cherry danish very fresh. The ordering system is easy too. The rooms were very sleek & we all liked the bathroom. I had read that some don't like the doors & the shape of the sinks but we thought it looked cool. The lighting is alittle dark in there though. All the CM's we encountered were friendly & helpful.

Only downside was housekeeping. Absolutely the worst we have experienced. That was not enough to give the CR bad marks though because we really enjoyed the view, the eateries (Contempo, Chef Mickey's, & Cali Grill-outstanding), the CM's, the pool, & the convenience to MK & Epcot. We will be returning in the spring to the wings & hope we have as much fun as this time.

OMG your pictures are amazing. Thanks so much for sharing. So glad to hear that you had a wonderful time but so sorry about the mousekeeping. We are staying at the CR next July for the first time and have a CL TPV room. We can't wait. I love the fact of the two separate sinks in the bathroom and the room in between. I have a lot of toiletries. Is there room underneath the sinks as well for storage. I should be able to make the space in between the sinks work but just in case. TIA.:hippie:

Only 5 more days til our trip to BLT!! I have a question for anyone that's stayed at BLT recently - are the hairdryesr in the bathroom(s) the small standard Conair Pro-Baby style? We have 6 ladies sharing a 2BR BLT villa - can anyone that stayed in the 2BR tell me how many hair dryers were in the unit? Is this something I can request from Mousekeeping if there's only one? We're all just bringing carry-ons, and would love to be able to leave our hair dryers at home!

What were the problems you experienced with mousekeeping?

Hi there,

I stayed at the Poly last year and also had an 8:05am ressie in Norway on a day when Epcot opened at 9:00am. I can confirm, at least in April, the first monorail to Epcot out of the TTC was at 7:30. I was told by a few people it would be cutting it close but took my chance. We arrived at the TTC about 7:20, and the first monorail was NOT there right at 7:30. I'm not sure how long we waited, but I know we arrived at the gates of Epcot a little after 8:00, then had to wait in line so they could check that we did indeed have a ressie in Norway. I booked it across the park, and got to Norway at about 8:25, 20 mins late, and there was a huge line ahead so we checked in and waited to be seated. It was not a problem that we were late...I think this must happen often??? Regardless, if you can take a taxi over, it might be less stressful, but we still had a wonderful breakfast and enjoyed our ride over on the empty monorail :) It's a great breakfast...have a wonderful time!

Thanks for the advice, I think we will get a taxi to be safe. I don't want to stressed worrying if we are going to be late :thumbsup2

That takes a load off my mind, you're right well worth it in my mind. Thanks for the advice, I don't want to stressed worrying if we are going to be late. :thumbsup2

Do you think the cost would be similiar to get a taxi to Animal Kingdom? We also have an 8am Donald Safari Breakfast one morning. :confused3

Thanks! There is a shelf under the sinks where you can put all your toiletries. We found it fine for us & we are a family of 5.

I hate to say anything negative because as my DH says "I am always drunk on Disney" but the room was very dusty when we checked in. The shelves, the tv area as well. That was really no big deal for me but we did notice it. The remote was sticky. There was a dead mosquito on the sink & that little guy stayed there the whole time we were there. It looked like someone had gotten sick behind the toilet & it was not cleaned. 2 nights in a row housekeeping did not come until after 6pm & one night we were showering & dressing for the Cali Grill so we needed new towels & soaps so I called down to them & just asked for the towels, t.p. & soaps & not to bother coming into the room as it was so late. There was some stain on the wallpaper just above the toilet paper roll. I ended up cleaning that with a Lysol wipe cause I was afraid my kids would touch it as it was in plain site.

However the sheets were crisp & clean. No problems on the linens.

Oh that's great. Thanks. I am a neat freak and like everything to have its place. We are only a family of 3 and we invited our DS13s BF13 to join us next year so there will be 4 of us. The boys including my DH have very minimal stuff as opposed to me.:rotfl:

As far as the remote is concerned, you are right :scared1:. I bring ziploc bags for those. I bring clorox wipes with me but just to wipe down the vanity and toilet every day. I am always the last one out the door because I am cleaning and straightening things up. I can't leave the room unless it is neat.:flower3:

We stayed in a 2BR in August, and I know that the hairdryers were not the really small Pro-baby type. I would say they are a medium size. Not as strong as mine at home, but definately can get the job done. Have a great time. You will LOVE the BLT!!!

:sad1:
I'm having CR withdrawl. We just got back 9 days ago, and I realized how much we really enjoyed this resort. I'm watching the live stream from BLT on eyes on ears dot com and it is just like the view we had from CR theme park. I'm hoping we get to stay here again, but need another good discount.:sad2:

Also craving the smoked turkey sandwich with brie from contempo, it was so good!

I am also always craving their Chicken Ceasar Salad so I know the feeling, however next month I am back there I can once again order it.

My wife craves the grits they make at the cafe...some of the best she has ever had. I'm not a big grits fan but even I like them. :goodvibes

Hello, everyone!

I have a 17" lap top that I'd like to bring with me to download pictures onto during our upcoming vacation. Will that fit into the Contemporary room safes?

Thanks!

We have less that 2 weeks to go. I am so excited!
