Thank you all so much! I let DH read the replies and we watched the video and he's now really excited about it. Which is a shocker because he's like the anti-Disney.. But hopefully this trip will change that. :)

It sounds like Rachel (DD1) will be more then able to use her walker at the hotel. :) We want her to be as independent as possible at the hotel so she won't mind using the stroller 95% of the time in the parks & it sounds like this will be very possible!

Yay! :cheer2::cheer2:

The CR is my favorite Disney place to be...I mean how cool is it to have the monorail run right through your hotel? Plus Chef Mickey's is right there on the 4th floor. :lovestruc

I think you folks will find the CR suits your needs very well...also the view on either side of the tower is fantastic...but the MK view can't be beat!

Thanks. :D My son is thrilled that we are staying at CR this time. He LOVES the monorails and says they are his favorite ride. Staying here actually works out really well because Rachel usually needs a break and on our last trip someone was taking her on the bus back to POP for a break while the other adult (& other kids) stayed at the park. While POP wasn't far it wasn't a 5 minute ride away - you know what I mean?

Back from WDW!!! Had a wonderful trip!!!!! As soon as I can get my photos posted on Photobucket, I will start my TR. This year, between my parents and I, we made around 2000 pictures...ridiculous, I know;) Of course, we had to go back and delete quite a few. Can't wait to start sharing our trip with y'all.

I can't wait to read your trip report and I say the more photos the better.

Yep, CRRF4L is right, the more the better! Post here when you have a TR link:hyper:

Well...let me just say that weeding through 2000 pictures is next to impossible!!! :rotfl: I wish I could share all of them, but then that would bore you to death. I promise to start the TR today...at least with introductions. Can't wait for y'all to see our gorgeous view from the 9th floor:lovestruc Awesome Awesome!!!

Ok...the TR has officially started!!! Hope y'all enjoy following along! Click on the link below.

I don't remember the monorail ever keeping me awake and we always stay on the side above it. I don't think he'll have any problems.

The arcade/food area is on the fourth floor, the escalator/elevator to get to the monorail is also on the fourth floor. The monorail is on a level of its own. Have a great time!

I dont care if my bed is in the path of the monorail and it runs me over while I am asleep...as long as I am at Disney...haven't been in almost 30 years.

Will be there in 11 days at the CR././ MK View

Now THAT'S a room request:thumbsup2. I pretty much feel the same way. I just LOVE the monorail and after many stays at the CR I still get a little emotional when I see it pass through (kind of like when I see the MK train).

Welcome back to WDW and soon you'll be at the CR and you can sit down on the 4th floor and watch the monorail all day:thumbsup2

Hey, a quick question ... we are staying in the garden wing. When we walk to the tower, where are we when we go inside? Do we have to take an elevator up to the 4th floor? Is it all easily marked?

Also, the walkway to MK ... is that easily marked too?

I have NO sense of direction and need things to be easy to figure out LOL

When you enter the Tower from the GW, you'll enter where you checked-in (the ground floor). Go straight ahead about 50 feet and the elevators are right there. Go up to the 4th floor (where all the shops, arcade, bar and dining is) and from there the escalator to the monorail is just about 25 feet away to your right if you're coming off the set of elevators (to your left if you're coming off the single elevator).

This sounds confusing, but in reality it's not and I know you won't have any problem. Have a great vacation!

Don't forget in front of the Lobby Concierge desk is an Esclator which takes you to the 2nd floor of the Tower and once you get there by the California Grill check-in desk will be another set of Esclators that takes you right up to the 4th floor in front of the side entrance to the Bay View Gifts store. So besides taking the elevators you have a second option for getting to the 4th floor.

Yeah, I didn't include that route because it's less direct and I thought might sound even more confusing.

And, I didn't mention that from the GW you could also take the outside steps up to the 2nd floor so that you don't even have to take the escalator from the ground floor to the 2nd;)

Personally I don't think it sounds confusing and sometimes when the elevators aren't fast enough it's actually the faster way to go. Although after so many times staying there I am use to it.

In the past we have also taken those steps you mentioned and while I didn't mind them when it's hot outside sometimes they can take forever.
