Is there a place where I can find info about travel times to different places from the CR?

For instance, how long does it take to get to Epcot?
or HS?

I'm trying to plan for ADRs

Thanks !!!
Jill

It's supposed to take 20-25 minutes. You have to add for the bus to pick you up for DHS, might be 20 more minutes. We always allowed an hour to get to any ADR & were always there early.

Thanks. Even if I opt to do online check in, I still get to speak to a live CM at check in, correct? I could request that they move me at that time if they put me in the garden wing, right?
Yes you would be speaking to a live Cast Member because you still need to pick up a folder that will have your KTTW cards should you do online check-in. However I would say it's a very good chance that should you be placed in a Garden Wing room that 99% you won't be changed to the Tower, so just incase don't be disappointed if they say there is nothing that can be done. Basically they are more strict about guests with convention rates because they have to accept where their room location is, even if it's in the Garden Wing.

Getting to Epcot takes about 20 - 25 minutes because you would need to take the Resort Monorail to the TTC, then from there switch over to the Epcot Monorail. Now if the Epcot Monorail is already there that will save you about 5 minutes since it takes a while for it to arrive from Epcot.

As for getting to Hollywood Studios it can take about 25 - 30 minutes when using the Disney buses. Now the Contemporary is always the 1st resort where you are picked up at, however in the mornings it will share with the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. Then in the afternoon/evening it shares with both the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

I hope you all have a great time. :thumbsup2

thank you!

and thank you for your advice on the GV versus SV. i had already called and upgraded mine. when my mom got her pin code, GV was the only thing left anyway. so, it all worked out. she was able to just apply her code to my pre-existing reservation (which made things SO much easier). she also booked a room for them too.

You're welcome and that's also great to here how everything worked out for you.

I wanted to know is that where is the tower in the Contemporary located? And maybe to stay in the Tower-theme park in the Contemporary for Feb 2011!

The Tower is located in the middle between the Garden Wing and Bay Lake Tower. If you have been on the bus to the Magic Kingdom and looked to the right you will have seen it, however incase you forget here is a picture of what it looks like.

We just booked a 2 BR villa for Augusy 2011 with lake view. Will we be able to see the fireworks from EPCOT or the MK?

It depends.

If you're in a north-facing outer villa, you might see some MK fireworks to the left of your balcony. If you're in a south-facing outer villa, facing toward the CR's marina, you might see the Epcot fireworks. If you're in an inner villa, you'll only have a view of BL.
