When we were there in February there wasn't always a tray to place our dishes on. We had to ask the staff what to do with them and they told us to leave our dishes on the table and they would get them.
We also experienced this. The tray would not be there or it would be full and we would stand there holding our dirty dishes until a CM took them. Other CLs that I've experienced seem to have an area above the garbage cans (like at a McDonalds) where you throw your garbage out and then place all your dishes above the garbage. I felt the AC's garbage and small tray weren't even large enough to encourage some people to bus their own tables. And if they're telling some guests not to bother, then this can add to the overall feeling of a messy lounge with limited seating. I found that to be unappealing at times.

The last time we visted the world we lived in CA, flew to MCO, and used a limo consequently we had no car while staying at the WL. We had no real issues with transportation using the boat to MK, the boat to CR and monorail to Epcot and for visiting other monorail resorts, and buses to AK, DHS, DTD and Blizzard Beach. We did not really mind the buses although there were some waits (not long) and sometimes they were standing room only.

We have since moved to Florida and will have our car with us during our next visit staying at the CR. Obviously we can use the monorail for Epcot and walk to MK. How is the bus service between CR and AK, DHS, DTD and the water parks? Are there any advantages to using our car? Disadvantages?

Thanks!

Martin

The garbage in the Atrium Club lounge is actually bigger and more deep then the one at the Innkeeper's Club lounge. For example the Atrium Club one can hold a lot more things until it needs to be changed, where as at the Innkeeper's Club it's a small garbage can that will overflow if to much stuff is placed in there.

I have found the buses to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom to be ok, however for whatever reason the bus to Downtown Disney seems to take forever. Although it seems to be a problem with all the Deluxe Resorts, so it's not just a Contemporary problem. When going to Blizzard Beach that bus shares with the Animal Kingdom and the Typhoon Lagoon bus shares with Downtown Disney. Finally in the mornings the Contemporary shares buses with the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge, then in the afternoon/evening they share with the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. However no matter what Contemporary guests are always picked up 1st and dropped off 1st.

You could always take the monorail to TTC then take a bus wherever you need to go too.

That's not a bad suggestion however just remember they only have buses that go to Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom. Plus they might not run as fast compared to the buses from resorts, so that could be the negative when it comes to doing that. For example I would think when going to a park for it's opening it's faster getting the buses from the Contemporary.

Oh,I didn't realize they weren't as fast. We only took buses from TTC because we stayed at Poly last year and we could walk over there. It seemed to be pretty quick but it wasn't crowded either.

We decided to change our reservation last week from the tower to BCV we decided even though we both have wanted to stay at CR since our first visit to Disney back in '89 the location of the BCV will better serve us this trip since our main focus will be on Epcot and F&W.

Hey everyone I have a question IDK if this is the place to get an answer. We just switch our reservation from GF to CR in a tower theme park view. It says it has a fridge I know it's not a big one but I was wondering if anyone has pics or knows exactly what size it is.

Thanks

Here is a picture of exactly what it looks like.

Well hopefully you will be able to stay at the Contemporary on a future trip, although for what you have planned staying at the Beach Club Villas does sound easier.

We had origianlly planned to stay at BCVs but after looking at all of our ADRs, we decided to switch to CR. We tend to spend lots of time at MK...makes more sense for us to be close. I will make it over to the EP resorts one day...perhaps when the kids are a bit older and don't want to be at MK every other day!

Hi! Quick question about room requests. I have checked through the thread, but can't find the answer. Can we still fax our room request to the resort? I have booked a conference rate for next week and the CM that I spoke to said I could be placed anywhere in the resort (Garden Wing or Tower). I requested tower to her on the phone, but I am sort of freaking out that I will get a Garden Wing room.

Also, do you think online check-in influences room location? Am I better off skipping online check in and speaking face-to-face with CM upon arrival.

Thanks for your help. I am mildly freaking out as we approach the arrival date.

The WDW Resorts have all stopped accepting faxes when it comes to room requests, so that needs to be done by calling the Disney Reservation Center. However yes it's true that when staying at the Contemporary on a convention rate you will either be placed in the Tower or Garden Wing since you are paying a lot less per night. So it won't matter what you said on the phone and you won't know how many other guests reserved either view in the Tower or will already have checked into those rooms when you arrive. As for doing online check-in that basically means when you arrive you will be getting whatever room they assign you, so maybe you are better off not doing that.

We leave in a week for BLT!!! Now I'm praying to the weather gods that the snow holds off...

Thanks. Even if I opt to do online check in, I still get to speak to a live CM at check in, correct? I could request that they move me at that time if they put me in the garden wing, right?

Is there a place where I can find info about travel times to different places from the CR?

For instance, how long does it take to get to Epcot?
or HS?

I'm trying to plan for ADRs

Thanks !!!
Jill
