Recently booked a 3 night stay for the DH & I at the BLT for my Birthday in September & F&W fest. We're staying in a LV Studio hopefully on a high floor. Hopefully we'll be able to get that semi-MK view and see wishes from our balcony.

I can't wait! First time staying on property in 10 years. Last place we stayed at was the CR on Oct 11, 2001 in a garden wing.

I remember the only time we stayed in the tower they had just changed out the toilets and they had a button on the top to flush and I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. This must of been when I was 6-ish. I've always been a fan of the "modern-ness" of the contemporary decor.

Anyone have any tips with kids at this resort? I understand there is a PNP in the room so that is one less thing to pack. TIA!

Well your kids would love their arcade on the 4th floor, the splash play area by their pool, Chef Mickey's and seeing the Monorail go by on the 4th floor.

Is it possible to get a different deal when talking to CRO than you can get on the website? The website doesn't have the CR TPV I want under the late spring room only special offer, but it is available if I search for a package. I really don't want a package, nor do I want to pay rack rate when I could get TPV at GF or Poly much cheaper. I could get CR CL cheaper too, but it's not TPV. Is this just a limitation of the online booking system, or does it mean they won't sell me CR TPV with the room only discount?

The only limitations of online booking are applying discounts associated with pin/savings codes that don't have a link from an email and military room-only discounts. If you're linking from the late-spring offer and the room isn't appearing, then it won't be bookable by calling the WDTC/CRO. It means that category is either already sold-out or wasn't available with that offer. It's most likely that the category is sold-out with the discount. But, you could call the CRO to make sure there isn't a pin code attached to your name.

Keep checking online because it might be available at a later date if someone cancels, so don't give-up!

There aren't any PNPs in the rooms at the CR, but I believe they are in the closet at BLT and can be requested at the CR.

It might also be fun for your kids to ride on a Sea Raycer or take the boat over to the WL or FTW and walk around and see the animals or ride a pony.

Thanks for the help! I was afraid that would be the case. I just booked the CR Atrium Club level for my trip! I'll just have to watch the fireworks from the lounge instead. Does it get very crowded in there?

You're welcome and I can honestly in all of my Atrium Club stays the lounge balconies has never been crowded with others watching Wishes from there.

There are usually enough guests out on the balcony that it can be difficult to see from the lounge. Out on the balcony it can get crowded and since it's 12 floors up, I wasn't real comfortable out there for extended periods in the dark when it was crowded. This shouldn't be an issue if you don't mind being that high up out on the balcony.

Yeah!! In a moment of weakness I just booked Aug 14-22 using the 35% discount. 2100 for 8 nights. I am sooooooo excited. CR is my favorite resort!!

Was worried about the heat BUT we were there this past Oct during the heatwave and it was 105 everyday.

How much worse can Aug be??? Maybe I will be sorry I asked

First let me say congratulations about being able to stay there.

Now as for how hot August can be, during the morning and afternoon it will be hot. However the evenings are not bad, so just keep drinking liquids and etc to stay cool.

I don't doubt you, but in all our many stays, we've never had one in the CR's closet. Only the luggage rack has been in there.

Maybe if you've requested a PNP in your reservation or if it's noted in your reservation that a guest is under a certain age (2?), they'll put one in there before your arrival

We did have to request bed rails but never pack n plays. On the Contemporary website it does list them as one of the amenities for the room, maybe we've been lucky.

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this thread and CR/BLT and I have one pressing question and another request for thoughts or opinions. Hoping you guys can help out.

First a little background:

I have just booked our first trip home to BLT. As you can see in my sigy we have only ever stayed value. Though staying at the CR has always been a dream of mine. Last year Hubby agreed to take the tour and we bought in @ BLT! So excited. This year was to be our off year, however as an incentive we were given one year worth of points free...I was undecided what to do with them (crazy I know). At 182 days out I decide to try and book a LakeView Studio for 10 days. Low and behold it was available for the exact dates I wanted and I totaly expected them to be booked solid. This is a surprise trip for the kids.

So here is my pressing question.

My kids are pickey eaters..sort of Is there anywhere at the CR that serves - Chicken tenders and fries, cheeseburgers (with or without bacon) and fries, Cheese (pepperoni) pizza?

I have looked at the menus for the Tempo Quick service but I didn't notice any of the above on the menu. I did see the flatbread and I might be able to pass that off as pizza but what about the rest?

My other question is really a request for thoughts, opinons and experiences.

When traveling to non monorail parks (DTD, Water parks, DHS, AK) how would you rate the bus transportation? Do buses arrive promptly and frequently? Do you find your more or less likely to have to stand on the buses?
