~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

I'm currently reading The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan, it's amazing so far! I'm very excited about getting City of Fallen Angels tomorrow, hopefully Borders will get it on time!

And Red Glove by Holly Black comes out too.

I totally forgot about The Dark and Hollow Places came out. My son and I were at Barnes and Noble the other night and he was having a hard time finding a book. He would have gotten that in a heart beat.

I've had Lover Unleashed and The Darkest Secret since they released on Tuesday. I haven't read either one! Granted, I've been extremely busy, but I'm not as excited as I thought I'd be. I'm probably I'm going to read The Darkest Secret first, because I think as the series has progressed I like the Lords better than the Brothers. Ahh, who knows, it's a toss up! After so many books I worry that there is just so much redundancy. The new Sookie Stackhouse book is being released soon and I just feel like I don't even care. So many new books, series, and authors to try out.

Speaking of redundancy....that is how I felt with The Darkest Secret. The only thing redeeming about it for me was Strider. His book is next and I am really looking forward to it.

I finished Eternal Rider and I loved it!

Next up, Lover Unleashed and I am so excited to buy City of Fallen Angels tomorrow!!!:cool1:

I'm so out of it I didn't even know there was another "city" book coming out.

Who is the main character in the darkest secret? There re so many of those books I can't keep them straight.

Is eternal rider a new series!

The Darkest Secret is Amun's book, the keeper of secrets.

Eternal Rider is by Larissa Ione and it is a spin off series to her Demonica series, which is also great!

Cool, thanks. I was reading the series until I got to Gideon, was he the liar?? It was so painful to read it and try to figure out the lies and turn it around to understand.

I loved the demonica series so I'll definitely read that one.

I'm so mad. I called Borders to reserve my copy of City of Fallen Angels and they didn't recieve it! I want my book! :(

That stinks!

I went into my local Borders when they opened today and they had a bunch displayed on a table. I picked it up but won't start reading it until after I finish Lover Unleashed which I am currently reading.

Yes, Gideon was the liar. I liked his book and at first it was hard to read but I quickly got use to reversing everything he said in my head. I actually think Gena did a good job with keeping it understandable. I had thought that a book like that would not only be hard to write but impossible to read. I really enjoyed it.

On a cool side note, I posted on Larissa Ione's Facebook page how I loved her book and she responded to me!! How cool is that?!

I just called ours to make sure that it is indeed there. We are leaving in a few minutes to get it.

very cool!! I love that JR Ward does chats and answer questions on her message board too. She's very accessible.

That's really neat!! I really enjoyed the Demonica series, but when I read the preview for Eternal Rider it just seemed confusing. I did however pick up the book the other day.....was hoping it would be a good read. So I need to decide which book to begin first.......The Darkest Secret, Eternal Rider or Lover Unleashed.

I finished Dark and Hollow Places today, it was wonderful! Though my favorite of this series still remains Dead-Tossed Waves, nothing can compete with the final scene of that book.

Hi ladies! Mind if I join you?? I'm newish to disboards, we just finished planning our first WDW trip for September, I didn't even notice the Community Boards until today! I'm sooo happy to see that there's an After-Twilight Bookclub! I'm twilight obsessed, and have fallen in love with this genre. I've actually read all 55 pages of this thread today, and joined goodreads and have a HUGE list of other books to read now!

My favorites seem to be your guys' favs too; Hunger Games, Vampire Academy, House of Night (which I agree, I loved at first but it's starting to get old), Mortal Instruments, Evernight, The Immortals, Fallen, Wolves of mercy Falls, Darkest Powers... A couple others that I don't think I saw mentioned here that I love are Carrie Jones' Need series and the Dark Divine series.

Anywho, just wanted to say hi! Oh, and my username on good reads is sahmoffour (name is Amanda) if anyone would like to add me! :)

Hi Amanda!!

I am Kaoden39 on goodreads. My name is Michele. I will add you now.

Have you ever read Jeaniene Frost? She is a favorite of mine.

Welcome Amanda! Have you read any Lara Adrian, JR Ward or Charlaine Harris? All good stuff!

Accepted! I haven't read Jeaniene Frost, I'll have to take a look, thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks! I haven't read any of those, well kind of anyways. I've heard of BDB before and how good it's supposed to be, and I got the first one from the library and only made it a couple pages in. I think I'm so used to reading YA now that I prefer it. It's just such light and easy reading, that after a couple pages of BDB and a couple times of getting mixed up I just gave up on it lol. I really should try it again as every single person I've heard of that's read it, recommends it highly! I bought the Sookie Stackhouse seris, as my hubby and I are True Blood addicts, but it started out following the tv show so closely that I gave up after a chapter lol. I hate knowing what's going to happen! I really should force myself to get more into paranormal/fantasy ADULT books instead of YA, but I just can't seem to do it lol.

The Jeaniene Frost books are definitely not YA. I tend to lean towards YA normally but I fell in love with the vampire in her books. Bones is so hot!! The first book is Halfway to the Grave.

Another author I really like that is in that genre but also includes witches is Kim Harrison. I really enjoy her books, the lead character is a kick, even my husband likes them. The first book is called Dead Witch Walking.

Hi Amanda, my name is Nikki and on Goodreads my name is also Desnik, feel free to add me as a friend!

Did you know there is a spin off series coming out really soon of the Darkest Powers trilogy?!!!

Also, the 4th Mortal Instruments book is out. I have it but haven't started it yet because I am reading Lover Unleashed from the BDB series.

I would also recommend Jeanine Frost both the series mentioned and the spin off one.

I get what you are saying about YA books. I love light, easy reads too but I find myself getting annoyed and want some steamy love scenes! LOL;)

A YA series you might like is the Tryell series by Amanda Hocking. She has another series that I really liked too but I can't think of the name right now. what is really cool is that she is a ebook self published author on Amazon and has just gotten her first book deal by a big publishing house to write a new series and its rumored to be a 2 million dollar contract!

Added you! I have The Gathering on order (the first in Kelley Armstrongs' Darness Rising seris), is it a spinoff of Darkest Powers? From the description it sounds like a whole new series but I would love it if she included some of the old characters, especially Derek and Chloe! I also have the 4th Mortal Instruments series on order too, I'm crossing my fingers they're in today!! I'm anxious to read The Gathering, I think I might hold off on the 4th Mortal Instruments though. I'm weird whereas I can't read the next installment in a series until I re-read the entire series first lol. And I dont' feel like re-reading the whole Mortal Instruments series right now, I'm anxious to read something new!

I'll have to take a look at the Jeanine Frost series if a couple people are recommending it for sure!

I've already added the Trylle series as well as the My Blood approves series on Good reads, they definitely look interesting. I'm so excited to have found that (and this) site and now I have 108 boook in my to-read list! :cloud9:
