A little update on what I've been reading.

I finished I Am Number Four in preparation to see the movie. I didn't like it. It was good at first, but after he gets his powers it goes downhill. The movie was great though.

I'm now reading Across the Universe and steaming through it. So far it is amazing!

I picked up Across the Universe, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, and The Book of TOmorrow at the library the other day. I started Delirium last night and finished it today. It was good but not as good as Matched and doesn't even touch The Hunger Games.

Im so happy to see that you are loving Across the Universe! I will probably start that tonight, I'm so curious about it

And
The Darkest Secret by Gena Showalter

They are two of my favorite authors and these are two of my favorite series of books. They are paranormal romance, and not for kids

I am so excited but don't know which to read first! Anyone else anxiously awaiting the release of one or both of these books???

I really love the Kim Harrison series that starts with Dead Witch Walking about a witch named Rachel Morgan. They have been great fun for me.

Sad to say I was underwhelmed by Lover Unleashed. I just didn't feel connected to Payne and Manny. They feel thrown into the series. I'd have much rather read qhuinn and blay. I was also not so thrilled with the way payne's medical issue was dealt with (don't want to post spoiler)

The whole V, Jane, Butch thing did nothing for me. And although Throe holds some future appeal to me, Xcor (how do we pronounce this) fell totally flat.

This series seems to have fallen in a rut and it breaks my heart. The whole "mine" and roaring bonding scent is overdone, predictable and boring.

Has anyone else finished the book yet?

Oh no! That is so disappointing to hear! I haven't started Lover Unleashed yet. I read The Darkest Secret by Gena Showalter first. Now I have started Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione, it is a spin off series to her Demonica series. The Darkest Secret was good, not my favorite in the series and I found myself not too connected with the female lead. So far Eternal Rider is good but I am only on the third chapter. I wanted to read these two first because I thought if I read Lover Unleashed first it would be so good that everything else would fail in comparison.

I get what you are saying about the whole bonding, scenting thing. It is over done in most paranormal romance novels! And now we have two more characters!? Too many to keep up with! LOL.

I've had Lover Unleashed and The Darkest Secret since they released on Tuesday. I haven't read either one! Granted, I've been extremely busy, but I'm not as excited as I thought I'd be. I'm probably I'm going to read The Darkest Secret first, because I think as the series has progressed I like the Lords better than the Brothers. Ahh, who knows, it's a toss up! After so many books I worry that there is just so much redundancy. The new Sookie Stackhouse book is being released soon and I just feel like I don't even care. So many new books, series, and authors to try out.

I'm currently reading The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan, it's amazing so far! I'm very excited about getting City of Fallen Angels tomorrow, hopefully Borders will get it on time!
