Another long day of unpacking.....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND getting the internet and home network up and running!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, the family wants to go see Tangled tonight, as Andrew only has a few days left with us before heading back to school. So, making the most of family time.

Back later (?) tonight with replies and catching up. Meantime: May BusMan bring you good luck and happy smiles.

So happy to hear your internet is up and running! It's sweet relief isn't it?

Enjoy Tangled and that family time! It's a very cute movie-we loved it and have often thought about going back to see it again.

And BusMan, I had forgotten to comment on him....:scared::scared::scared:, yet it's like a car wreck. I.must.stop.and.look! :scared1: :rotfl: Ick, he's so creepy. And funny at the same time!

aren't you the STAR! How very fun. Great pictures and update!

Thanks, Mary!! So far, I really like it- just not emotionally prepared to really become attached to it yet.

It was quite an unexpected turn of events! I sincerely hope we are not uprooted again!!

I know it will! It will likely take longer than any of us thought it might, though.

It's been pretty windy here lately- lots of cold coming through the Gorge that brought some nasty freezing rain last week. I can do without that!

There is a Trappist monestary not too far from here- I am thinking of going on a 3 day quitetude retreat soon- just for some complete quiet.

ugh on the wind, we've had a lot of that here too. Good for work but not so good for sleep. I think the 3 day quietude sounds like a very good idea!

:lmao::lmao: That's funny!!

Mine would prefer never to have to go- but would love to see my haul my butt up some freezing mountain and dink around on a glacier- FAT CHANCE!! Even doing it to get him to go to Disney ain't worth that!

My mom was highly offended that I told her she couldn't go on the last trip. Been there and done that..... but someday, I'd like to go with her. Problem is we'd spend VERY little time in the parks. They don't plan, don't love the parks, and show up just in time to eat, then leave. Whatever.
DH's idea of a perfect vacation is up to his elbows in car parts. :scared1: Not me!
I have to have actual down time planned with my mom or we go until I drop. :rotfl: When we had ressies out of the park that we were in I had to start herding her to the front about an hour before we actually had to leave. She would stop and say, "I have to get a picture of that!" And "that" was just about everything we saw.

Liesa - Great update! DHS first huh, I tend to go to MK first, it's the kid in me. :rolleyes1 I need to take more time for pics and not rush to all of the rides.

Mary - So sorry for the computer troubles. My mom's laptop crashed and she would have lost all of her geneology work if my brother hadn't convinced her to back it up on an external hard drive. :headache:

I want a Kookie pen, I also want to try the Shrimp Chow Mein, I will remember to make sure it it thoroughly cooked as well.

Loved your DHS pictures, you look so happy!! It looked like a beautiful day.

Maroo - I'm glad to see another coming to the something, something DARK SIDE (Family Guy reference.. I'm sorry I couldn't help myself) And by that, I mean congrats on the new spiffy Mac :thumbsup2 Best computers of life. The cat is SO cute!

Liesa - looks like you had a gorgeous day at DHS. Love the hot wheels to match your HOT pink crocs  And you moved...again?! The new place sounds so tranquil. Pictures? Pretty please?

Sorry you had to go for the $50 toothbrush, but glad to see you take dental hygiene seriously. ;) "You shouldn't neglect your gums!" Name that movie.

"Pretty Woman".

I know I'm REALLY behind on this TR but I couldn't resist.....
Okay Mr. Smartypants, what part of the movie was this said in and why?

To not be is "INCONCEIVABLE!!"

"I do not think it means what you think it means."

Would anybody like a peanut?

I do so very love that movie!

So do I, it brings back so many good memories. :::sigh::: :cloud9: "No more rhymes now, I mean it!"

They would NEVER do that, would they??? :scared1:

:lmao:

:rotfl: Good to hear your humor Magdalene. :goodvibes

I find this highly offensive! The fact that you think I'd share my cheesecake, I mean. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Ah, isn't solo WDW-time awesome?

I forgot my toothpaste on my last trip, which made me very happy to be solo. There were a few hours there when no one would have wanted to be talking to me, at least not too close! Dentyne Ice can only go so far!

I also have to admit to a slight addiction to Disney socks and underwear. Maybe it's because I'm not so into overt Disney merchandise. If I buy their socks and underwear, I can be a Disney freak and nobody knows! :rotfl:

Plus every morning when I open my underwear drawer I get to think to myself: Do I want this to be a Disney day today? ;)

OMGosh! Who knew you were this funny!! :rotfl2:

I'm the same way about overt disney wear, it's one thing for my kids to wear it for unders or pj's. Actually, now I come to think of it, my daughter likes to wear t-shirts with Disney characters on them, Kermit the Frog is one of her favorites. Kids wearing shirts with characters of any kind is pretty "in" these days. It's not for me, can't do it. I even took some with me to wear to the parks and could only muster it for one day.

OK - is it sad that I'm de-lurking to join the underwear conversation?:sad2:

I'm the opposite. I buy new underwear before a trip but wait to use it until after the trip. I take the old undies with me and throw it away each day, thus freeing valuable suitcase space for other items that may feel the need to travel to Texas!

 This is...."Totally Brill." Name that Mr. Movie quoter. I must remember this for my future trips!

YES! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

But before I sound like a mean wife, he actually talked me into booking our trip next week so he is definitely a changed man - LOL!

Resistance is futile!
(Where's Mr Quotations or whatever his unofficial title is?)

Well I must say- you've done well!!!!

You know what... that is his new title from now on!!!!!!!!!! I am LMAO over here!!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl: Good one jenb, and I'm right there with ya Tim! :rotfl:

That's just how they say "hello" in Kazakhstan.

:lmao: Wait. "Ew! Eeeeeeew! Eeeeeeeeew!" Can you name that one too? I'll give you a hint if you need one, it's actually a Disney movie.

I found this for you today Liesa.....

http://www.earthlydelights.com.au/english3.htm

That reminds me of Jen's picture of Bubba riding Space Mountain!!! :rotfl2:
Oh those are Crocs??? I thought you just got carried away with the pink nail polish!!! :rolleyes1
Doesn't look like the guy I took pictures of for you Rosie. Could there be more than ONE of them???!!! :confused3

Yes, she was quite the chic chick in that photo! HA!! I giggle every time I think about it!

It was quite the loud shade of pink, but hey, went with the territory on that one day.

DHS is swarming with hot Italians, but you're right I don't think that one was Rosie's "special".

Morning Liessa !!!

By the time you read this, it will be (the next) morning for you, Dear Rosie. Twas a long, long day, that ended with Tangled. Nice flick. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I love that your papparazo was able to get such wonderful shots, including some of himself! I can't wait to see your wardrobe, and how you enjoyed your accommodations!:goodvibes

It was the beginnings of a great day! I had already seen so much before I ever "checked into" my swanky digs.

you can stop watching it

or like checking a TR waiting for an update(marv) that you know isnt going to be there.

you know you shoud not look but you keep looking.

:sad2:

I had a hard time pulling my eyes away too; but here's the rub. Was that guy actually stalking that lady? Was he intentional in his actions?? I think he should have been arrested for lewd conduct, myself!!!

huh someone followed you around and took a bunch of pictures of you

i bet you felt like what i do to parker.

Yes, now I know just how Parker was feeling! Poor thing- it was hard work posing all the time for those starstruck maniacs! :rolleyes1

OMG Rosie. This is so gross but I can't look away. popcorn::

I still think he was doing some sort of questionable act, and should have been arrested!

You own personal camera crew? You are a diva! Work it! :)

Oh, baby, I did!!!!

Liesa I hope Stardom hasn't gone to your head or anything.:cool2:

Oh no, just your humble starlet here, prone to random acts of political action and philanthropical kindness.

Liesa - your update is awesome! What a clever way to tour/write about DHS! Some of the photos made my go - wait that's there! Shows how fast we fly by things to get an FP or whatever and miss the details. You are a diva for sure and after this move you deserve more diva treatment!

Good luck to Mike on Thursday and good luck unpacking!

There were SO many of those, "hey, look at that!". So many little signs or funny places that I kept thinking to myself- THAT would be PERFECT for a TR!!! I actually had my idea of how I was going to write this MONTHS AGO during my trip!! It was TOTALLY fun and made solo touring a blast!

And of course, DAHLING, I was made a star for the day- they even told me so later on as I continued to rise to the top! :lmao:;)

Thanks!! I will tell him you are wishing you luck!

Whatever turns you on Dan!!!!

Best to leave this one quite alone...

Liesa-loved the Hollywood Star update!!! I can't wait to hear all about your hotel stay. ;) You look fabulous! in your Mickey tye-dye and pink crocs! Work it!

I didn't realize you were in fact MOVED! I can't keep up! And your DH might have a job in Cali? Would you move again?

My hotel stay was quite an "experience"! I'm not sure WHO was working it there! :lmao:

Yes, we are actually moved again. This will be Zach's 3rd school in less than 4 months- I am thankful that the Lord has blessed him with such a genial personality that he has no trouble making friends or feeling comfortable with each new situation. His teacher actually cried the other day when we said good-bye to her.

I doubt he will have to take the job in Cali. We will be "OK" a few more months without an income, and then he will most likely HAVE to entertain the reality of needing to look outside the PNW. We know that 6% of Americans are facing unemployment; we are not immune, and will go where we have to go to make a living. HE has provided our EVERY need, and now it's time to trust and obey once again.

So...

For the past few months I have been organizing my photographs, writing small segments of the future Trip Report and basically getting my ducks in a row so that when Liesa started the Disney part of our journey, I would at least be a little ready.....

Murphey's Law...

This last couple of weeks have been filled with the holidays, a hospital stay for Rachel, an ice storm and a Medicare audit at work...so I have been so busy! But Thursday night I had the evening set aside to work on getting my pictures sent over to Liesa so she could get her Photopass pics so she can use them for her TR portion...

YIKES!! That's a lot for one plate! yes, yes!! I would love to get those pp pix!

I went to turn my computer on and it was dead...
No problems..I will just plug it in....

Oh crap!! That cord is severed.... My computer is DEAD.

How does a cord just get "severed"??? :scared1: That's just plain wierd! Almost like it had been pinched or something- which I've actually done- between the laptop keyboard and lid.

And my thoughts went like this...

My pictures!!!!

My trip notes?!?!?!

Oh crap!!!!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Leisa is going to KILL me!

I can totally see you doing this! Even outloud!! :lmao:

So I am now the proud owner of my first Mac.

But...that puts me behind...I am so, so, so thankful to the wish families that shared their stories - including a few that lost their pictures - that encouraged me to back mine up! I recommend it to everyone! It saved me a bunch of money and a bunch of heartache!

Glad I have mine on at least 2 computers!!! Not ALL our pictures, but a fair amount of them.

We have one traitor in the house now- ahem.... my father gave Bek a laptop for Christmas, which to her great delight pretty much seals the deal that no one else in the house will ever want it.. :lmao:

My trip notes were in iTunes...so I still have those! And my pictures are safe and sound, too!! :) So...back to writing...D is next!

And now I"VE LOST MINE!!! I can't find them ANYWHERE as I've unpacked! Of course I can always go by my pix, but that doesn't cut the mustard for me!! I need to look harder!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

So happy to hear your internet is up and running! It's sweet relief isn't it?

Enjoy Tangled and that family time! It's a very cute movie-we loved it and have often thought about going back to see it again.

It is!! I love having not just the internet now, but wireless in the house too!!! My DH spent an hour on the phone with tech support at Verizon all to naught- I'm so happy that he is pretty handy with this stuff!!!! Maybe he should put his resume in there? :confused3

It was a very cute movie! I cried a couple times even. I think the part I liked best was that the "bad guy" wasnt' some horrific monster, ultra scary thing (like in the Princess and the Frog), but rather was sort of normalish, but manipulative.

aren't you the STAR! How very fun. Great pictures and update!

ugh on the wind, we've had a lot of that here too. Good for work but not so good for sleep. I think the 3 day quietude sounds like a very good idea!

It's been so fun to write this TR! Every new post is another chance to have some creative outlet (and of course, just tell it like it was ;))!

I hear you there- we have a ton of VERY large trees on this property, and when the wind blows it really howls through them! Especially the cedars. Makes the window dirty too, as it blows all kinds of crap (sometimes literally) around. Those dang geese!

DH's idea of a perfect vacation is up to his elbows in car parts. :scared1: Not me!

Me neither!! Unless it's Test Track. :lmao:

I was kind of like that too- but I made my downtime IN the parks a lot of times. It really worked for me, to find a bench and sit. I would grab a snack and write- or I would intentionally just look for photos. But then again, I also planned a few times of resort time, in order to swim or walk there. So much to see everywhere really.

Liesa - Great update! DHS first huh, I tend to go to MK first, it's the kid in me. :rolleyes1 I need to take more time for pics and not rush to all of the rides.

This trip, the EMHs dictated where I was going. I ALWAYS want maximum touring hours, so, going completely against all touring recommendations by most DISers and ALL UG folks, I hit every EMH I can! I know it's not for everyone, but I've never NOT done ALL I've wanted to do, even though it's been a bit more crowded- and sometimes it's not.

Anyway, I'm not sure you were reading along with our PTR much. Part of this trip was a "tribute" so to speak to my Grandmother who passed away last year. This park was very "her". From the Art Deco/ 40's theming to the Brown Derby. I really wanted to start my trip off thinking of her and all she meant to me. And I will definitely hit that more in a few installments. That was the major reason I went to DHS first this time around. I don't have one park I must start at anyway, and it just happened to work out this time that this was the right place to be first off.

I want a Kookie pen, I also want to try the Shrimp Chow Mein, I will remember to make sure it it thoroughly cooked as well.

Loved your DHS pictures, you look so happy!! It looked like a beautiful day.

It was a VERY beautiful day, Tracy! The sun was shining, the park wasn't that packed (at all!), and I did everything I wanted to and so, so ,so much more!!

That lo mein filled me up to the tippy top and last all the way until dinner- at a particular favorite place of yours!!! :rolleyes1 In fact, my dinner was completely inspired by YOU, so I think it's very Providential that you happened to post again!!!!!

Maroo - I'm glad to see another coming to the something, something DARK SIDE (Family Guy reference.. I'm sorry I couldn't help myself) And by that, I mean congrats on the new spiffy Mac :thumbsup2 Best computers of life. The cat is SO cute!

Well, it wasn't exactly a "Bubba Pose", but hey it was all a rising starlet could muster. I just wish our paycheck could cover one of those! :lmao:

Very cool website, Camille!! I will give it a more thorough look-see soon, and pass it onto the dance group's organizer and of course, my daughters!!!

Love your tie-dyed shirt! :thumbsup2

Your new "digs" sound awesome! We've been looking at some places in "the country" with some land, but nothing has worked out yet. Good luck settling in. :goodvibes

We liked that too. P&tF was a bit too "spooky" for our tastes. I'd love to see Tangled become a classic with something in the parks aside from the meet & greet...but time will tell!

Hi Liesa, I am so way behind that I don't know where to start....

I really don't want to quote it, it scared me every time I saw it: Rosie's bus picture!! :scared1: Since I use public transportation daily and we don't have airconditioning on busses in Germany, I am too familiar with this yucky feeling of accidentally touching someones sweatly skin. And this is like the worst nightmare version of it!!!! :scared1::scared1:

I loved your pics of DHS, you captured so many details, which make this park so beautiful. I remember that before your trip you really were not so keen on DHS. I wonder wether this has changed? I am looking forward to read more about your thoughts on this park in the coming TR! :goodvibes

I am glad that you got the move behind you and hope that your DH will soon find a work that fits his qualifications and your family's needs! I was sorry to hear that Mikki still finds her new life difficult, hopefully the start of spring will cheer her up a bit. :flower3:

Okay, clueless me strikes again. I didn't know that you actually moved, either. I hope everything turns out well, I truly do.

Maroo, congratulations on the new MAC! I would love one of these, if they were in the budget.....:sad2: I can't wait to see your pictures!:goodvibes

What a great day at DHW, Liesa (and what a fun update). You look so happy!

I hope that things work out on the job front, so you can start to feel settled...even just thinking about all that moving makes me stressed out!

Maroo, sorry to hear about your computer...but Macs rock!

OMGosh! Who knew you were this funny!! :rotfl2:
Every once in a while the humor pops out, and still surprises me every time. Much like the sweaty, hairy chest of the bus man.

Hi! I lurked (a bit) on the PTR for this trip. Liesa, I love your writing...your updates are so engaging I sailed through most of this TR pretty quickly. Granted I skipped all the chatter. Looks like your Disney vacation got off to a pretty spectacular start. :thumbsup2
