Is the ENTIRE bottom of SAB covered with sand? Or just the toddler sand play area?

If the whole pool is sand bottom, doesn't the sand make the water murky? Does the sand get in your bathing suit? Are there showers to rinse off before going back to your room?

i.e. is it REALLY like going to the beach? Cause, the "sand factor" is the part about going to the beach that I don't like...

The ENTIRE bottom is sand, but it doesn't really get mixed with the water. Just more Disney magic It has never got in my bathing suit at all.

I don't love sand at the beach either, but the Beach Club pool is seriously my favorite thing about my Disney vacation!!

It isn't natural sand. It is courser, almost like sea salt, and doesn't stick or get into swimsuits the way natural sand does.

That's just what I was going to say! It's also not ALL of the pool, just most of it. I dont think there's any sand near the hot tub on the BC side or on the lazy river part of the pool. Also, it makes for a nice foot massage after walking in the parks all day!

I know this is a specific DVC ? but thought this would be a good place to ask.

The only villa that can be booked on the concierge level is AKV. The concierge for BC is only for guests staying at the main resort not the villas.

Just returned from an awesome 3 nt stay at YC. Had booked std room and requested a refurbed room. We were upgraded to a waterview room (looked out on SAB and the lake!) and got the refurbed room as well! The new rooms are lovely. New carpet, new bedding, daybed has a different cover and pillows. Loved it all.

When did you request a refurbed room? I would like to do the same for our trip.

Just wanted to say thank you for this thread, I haven't read all the posts but the ones I have read are very informative.

We've just booked two nights at the Yacht Club for the end of December as a special treat. I am so excited, we will be able to see in New Year at Epcot and walk back to our room!

Also, it will be our first-ever stay on Disney property!

Congratulations! You will love it! We just got back from our first stay at the Beach Club, and it's our new favorite resort. Your only problem with staying at the Yacht Club first is that it will spoil you for any other hotel, at least a cheaper hotel on property!

Good question! I never thought about it. I can't answer how they clean it but I can tell you I am very picky and it has always looked sparkling clean to me. You will love SAB.

Amen to that. We started at the Poly, and, even though I've tried, I can't seem to book a mod or deluxe.

I called about 2 weeks before our trip and added the request. I knew it was only a request but I thought I'd try anyway. I have a feeling that the fact we were only there for 3 nts had something to do with the availability. Good luck to you.
