Hi! We have our 1st stay at beach club (or any deluxe) coming up and I had a question... are the doors magnetic like the ones at the mods and are we allowed to put magnets on them? We arrive on the 28th of this month and my son turns 5 this thurs so we will be celebrating his birthday while we are there. we will also be celebrating DH's birthday as his birthday was on 7/6. I thought if I put some sort of happy birthday magnet on the door it would make it easier for the kids to recognize our room. Is this OK to do?
I am so excited about staying at BC as staying at an EPcot resort has always been my dream!!! I know my kids will be psyched too when I show them the pics, especially of SAB as this is still a surprise and havent told them yet. OH MY 2 WEEKS UNTIL I GET TO BEACH CLUB :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Welcome to the DIS! I'm also excited for my first trip to stay at the Beach Club in December. I'm not quite sure if the doors are metal and if they allow you to hang things from it. Some of the experts here can help you. You mentioned that you will be celebrating your son's and your husband's birthdays. Make sure when you check in to ask for birthday buttons. Wear them everyday all the time and you should get some special attention from the cast members. Have a great trip!

Welcome! We'll be there at the same time.

I'm not sure about the doors, but I don't think they are metal. The only deluxe doors that I can remember being metal were the ones at the Poly. Hopefully someone more qualified to answer will come along...;)

I hope you love the BC!!! My whole family LOVES SAB!!! And I really, really love the Epcot resorts area -- it's so convenient that it's hard to stay anywhere else.

Have fun with your surprise! And I "second" the PP about wearing the Bday Buttons -- DD wore one on our last trip and all sorts of little "magical" things happened because of it!:goodvibes

We are now within our 10 day window for online checkin :woohoo:, but I am still wrestling with whether to do it or not. Does anyone have any experience with this at the Beach Club? Specifically, room requests and online checkin. Do they seem to acknowledge them if you do online checkin? Thanks so much for your help.

I will be doing the Online Check in later this week. From what I understand it speeds things up for you when you arrive. I don't think you can make any room requests when you do online check in.

I did online checkin for our stay at BCV in March. It was great. I was greeted at the door and escorted to the counter. Absolutely no wait. Everything was ready. The CM checked my id. She read my requests to me so they can see them. I had two and the first was met and the second was very close. I would do it again at the BC in a heartbeat.

Hi everybody!

I think I already know the answer to this, but just to be on the safe side. If you are staying Club Level, should you NOT use online check in? All of my experiences with Club Level check in have always been extra quick and easy in the past anyway compared to checking in at the front desk so it seems not really necessary, but just wanted to check in with you guys! Plus I do have 1 room request that I really really want.

Random question...how many club level rooms are there at the BC? Say compared to the Polynesian (approximately).

Thanks for everything! 9 Days! :lovestruc

Would a first floor room at the BC necessarily have a patio area? We will have a stroller and I would love to be able to make a quick getaway!;)

My family and I are going to be staying at BC for the first time in October. The waiting is killing me. Does BC offer free wi-fi in the hotel? If not, are there any free wi-fi hot spots near BC/YC?

You would have a patio area, but if you exited your room for the day via the patio, there would be no way to lock your room behind you.
I would not recommend that,

Hi everyone.I just wanted to check in and let you know that I am at the BC and it is wonderful. I am on the free wifi now in the lobby on the 2nd floor. I just completed my online course work using it with no problems. I have been to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney Studios all in 1 day. I have floated in the wonderful Stormalong Bay. I love the lazy river ( I brought my own noodle) and I have gone down the slide 3 times with no injuries (pretty good for a 300 lb 48 y/o......The first day I met Teena and she is a jewel. Thanks for being there Teena, I feel like you are now part of the family. Hopefully I will see more of you this week. One of my sons wants to check out your pins:). Anyway, I forgot my chord so I cannot send pics but I am here to tell you that this place is absolutley beautiful and spotless. The theming really pulls you in and leads you to feel as if you are at a timeless beach resort. Plus the beds are so comfortable you have to force yourself out of them to get to Extra Magic Hours.:rotfl:
I have to take a test online later this week and I will try to check the boards then.
TTFN!

I feel like this is kind of a goofy question, but...
I keep reading that the BC has absolutely heavenly beds. Since my reservation is at the YC I am now curious how do the YC beds compare? Thanks :cloud9:

I just want to make sure about key cards for SAB :)

Each member of my party of 5 needs their own card correct?

Once at SAB we will be given wrist bands?

Where do we get the wrist bands?

What do you all do with all the key cards once you have the wrist bands?

Thanks!

I stick my card in the top of my bathing suit. Also, I agree about the beds. They are great. Can somebody that's there look and see who they are made by? TIA

I ended up buying one of those plastic containers that holds credit cards/money/etc... that hangs around your neck. They sell them @ the YC/BC gift shops as well as the tube rental spot @ SAB. One year my DH had his in his swim trunk pocket... after a few hours in SAB, he noticed it was gone....:scared1::scared1: I freaked because it had my credit card # attached to it as well as our DDP, park tix, etc.... I raced to the front desk concierge and they cancelled his and reissued a new one. I no longer ever get my CC attached to my room key and he no longer puts his room key in his swim trunk pocket :rotfl:

Sounds like you're off to a great start. Have fun!:cool1:

Hello everyone.
Do they have complimentary towels available at Stormalong Bay?

Also, does anyone know where and what kind of sunscreen they sell at the Yacht Club? I really like the Neutrogena spray sunblock (the higher SPF of 70), and I know I will need quite a bit of it during the week I am down there early August. I was hoping to know that I would have back-up if I use up all of the cans I bring. If anyone could let me know what kind of sunscreen they have that would be great.

Yes they have complimentary towels at SAB.... they ask you how many you need when you get your wristbands.

They didn't carry Neutrogena last August. That's what I use too-the 70SPF spray. I can't recall what they had exactly but no sprays-just bottles... perhaps No-Ad or Banana Boat? I don't recall. I know I'll probably have to buy a bottle since our sunscreen will have to be in our checked luggage and we're taking ME to the resort.... we'll want to hit Epcot right away and will need some sun protection :thumbsup2

We'll be at the Yacht club in late August and was wondering if anyone can suggest a room or "good view" for a standard room that I can put a request in for? Thanks!

That's the same sunscreen we use. Unfortunately, as of our trip in April 2009, they don't sell it anywhere at WDW. I had a bunch on order with our groceries, and luckily we didn't run out. They do sell sprays, with high SPFs. I think Banana Boat or Coppertone, but no Neutrogena.:sad2:
