We are so excited we change our BWI reservation for the BC. Last summer we stayed at the BWI and we loved it but we want to try a new resort. We are so happy in just 20 days we will be there, we are also celebrating my parents 32nd weeding anniversary. I'll take lots of pics to share with you!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I haven't had a chance to post until now but wanted to share that we had a wonderful two weeks at BC June 14-29th. We had room 4569 which was on the Lagoon side. The only downfall to that room was the big old tree blocking the view of the lagoon. It was still very nice and I enjoyed my morning coffee on the balcony every morning. We all enjoyed SAB. I liked that the kids could be in the water without DH or I right there with them. The boys enjoyed being able to play in the water wihout floties. They cried every time we had to leave. The boys got a kick out of watching Pirates of the Carribean on the beach. Although it didn't last for long, they were so tired they fell asleep about 5 minutes into the movie. Our mousekeeper was great. DS left his Snoopy on the dresser one day and she made a towel animal to look just like Snoopy. We also had a pop-up hamper shaped like an elephant so she made a matching towel elephant. All the CM's were great and very helpful. One day we had taken the car to one of the parks for an early ADR. When we came back he gave our brand new GPS to DS to carry. We stopped to refill drinks and forgot all about the GPS. A few days later DH was wondering where it was and of course DS didn't remember what he did with it. DH decided to go to the lobby and ask if by chance it was found. We thought it was long gone but someone actually found it and turned it in. They kept it in the safe to make sure no one else took off with it. We were so greatful and DS will never be in charge of the GPS again. When we stopped for drinks he must have set it down and neither of us noticed it. Anyway this has gotten to be pretty long but we will definately be coming back to BC. We were going to try out a different resort next visit but I think we're hooked now.

thats great they have free wi-fi in the lobby how does it work do you need to ask for a key code or is it just unincripted glad your having a good time:)

Unencrypted. If you have a room fairly close to the lobby like we did you can even tap into it from there : )

Can anyone tell me about any games or activities that the resort does at the Beach Club - geared for children ages 8-13?

I'm curious about pool games and activities, as well.

Also, I'm curious if anyone has the beach movie schedule for August, if so, would you post it?

Any scavenger hunts at the Beach Club?

If anyone can think of unusual, free, slightly inexpensive things to do around the Beach club, broadwalk, swan and dolphin resorts, please share.

We are planning to spend one day just at the resort and I would like to have an idea about available activities to entertain in the event of boredom - that can only be experienced by a child.

Thanks for the help!

We were at the Beach Club from July 5-12th. What a wonderful resort! I cant say enough about the staff and service!
We were given an upgrade to a pool front room on the first floor. It was the perfect location for our family. We were closer to Epcot then we were to the Lobby!

I had such a grand plan going into the week, it went right out the window the first day. With 2 little kids (3 and 15 months) our week really revolved around them sleeping. It was fine and I was very shocked that the crowds were as low as they were. We never waited more then 20-30 min for a ride at the height of the day. FOr the really popular ride there were fast passes aval all day long, even Soarin which was amazing!! I didnt even think the heat was that bad, we had two really hot days, but nothing soooo bad. Maybe becaue we were expecting it.
I just posted on the main resort board, but thought I should put it here!!

We did have a few bad parts of the trip. My mom woke up the last day with very bad stomach pains and 24 hrs later she was in the OR as they operated on a hernia. She is recovering and we were very happy, even with all the pain that she was able to make it onto the plane and make it back to NJ. Another VERY bad part of the trip is someone stoll her credit card. She thinks it happened the last day as she was in sooo much pain she walked down to the market place at the BC and that was the last she saw of it. There were charges made to it in New Orleans LA, over 2K. So now she has to deal with this. Its just very sad that someone had to do that. We are very honest people and always see the good in other people, this is just mean. I really hope the tapes from the stores discover who did this.

I can say that I will return to the BC. DH wants to do the Cruise and stay package next time......we'll see!
any questions, I will be happy to answer.

Very happy you liked the BC and had a super vacation. So sorry for your Mom's problems though and I hope she is feeling much better and it isn't too hard to get her credit card straightened out.
You'll love the Disney cruise - it's wonderful and Castaway Cay is impossible to describe ... it's my favorite place to be!! We really enjoy the 7 night cruises on the Magic. We're not a fan of the cruise/resort package as it seems like you just get settled and into the swing of things and it's time to switch to the next part of the vacation (land/sea). But I talk to many families that love the land/sea. They all say they need a few days to recuperate though!!

I will be doing the On line Check in later this week. From what I understand it speeds things up for you when you arrive. I don't think you can make any room requests when you do on line check in.

I did the on line check in today. I was a little disappointed. Other than giving my credit card information, I do not see much time savings. I was able to request a refrigerator under the room request (the other choice was a baby bed). I wanted to request that there are no charging privileges on our KTTW cards. I guess that I will have to do that when I get there.

Thanks Teena. Appreciate the advise.:goodvibes

The BCV is very small and yes, most of the studios next to one bedroom units are connected to make a two bedroom. There just aren't that many dedicated two bedroom units. You can certainly make a reservation for a one bedroom and a studio and ask that they be close together. Doubtful you will get them with a door connecting them though as those are sold as two bedroom units. You could just reserve a two bedroom unit and when you book the reservation, you can ask for one of those units (one bedroom connected to a studio) versus a dedicated two bedroom.

As far as Epcot views, my favorites are from the fourth and fifth floor and some you can see Spaceship Earth but have the huge back of the building which is Soarin in your view too. Then there are other rooms where you can see parts of Epcot but the views are indeed blocked some by trees and other buildings.

Gotcha. Unfortunately then there appear to be no 1 bedroom units with Epcot view on the 4th or 5th floors unless all the 2 bdrms don't get booked. Darn!:sad2:

cdotla, to DVC a one BR connecting to a studio is indeed a 2 bedroom villa. In DVC speak it is a 2 BR lockoff.

No, I don't think it works that way. Now I don't know quite how it works :rotfl: but I can tell you we've had one BRs on the 4th and 5th floors. Word is BCV is normally close to sold out. I always wondered if that was hype when I read it on the DVC boards but Teena has said so, too.

It may be that a certain percentage are held as 2 BRs or that it is first reserved, first fulfilled. Or some other formula?

But if you are asking for 4th or 5th floor for a better view of Illuminations, I truly don't think it matters that much. We've been on every floor except the first on that side. We've always seen the high effects and have never seen the lower. I would just request Epcot side and try not to worry about the floor.

Thanks! OK then...my request will be:

1. Epcot facing
2. 4th or 5th floor
3. Adjoining

...in that order!;) Thanks for the advise!:goodvibes

Hi Everyone,
This will be our first trip home as DVC owners and we are also surprising our girls. They have NO idea we are going in Sept. We were just there in June and my wonderful DH bought us the DVC. He says it is my anniversary present. We celebrated our 18th while there in June.

So, here is my question... can the girls bring their own floats or do we need to rent the ones at SAB?

Can't believe we got so lucky to book here. We only did it about a week ago and we will be there on 9/7-9/10. We even got all the ADR's we wanted!

Thanks in advance.

And.. btw.. I am brand spankin' new to this thread, but I read all 15 pages and Teena.. I am going to have to come say hi to you too :)

Congrats on the DVC purchase - I'm a new owner too. We stayed at BC in June and are also going back in September, but to BLT. As for floats at SAB, you can bring your own, but if they are inflatable, they MUST be clear. We just brought noodles, which seemed to be exempt from the "clear" rule.

Have a wonderful visit at BCV - I hope to book it for next summer!
