We were there at YC CL for 8 days at the end of August and had a beautiful redone room - you will have a great time as the CMs are wonderful as was housekeeping.

We've had some really great waterview room at YC. We requested 1st floor, lakefront view. We were near the small laundry room and the side entrance. That was great because we were a few doors down from the side entrance so we didn't have to go traipsing through the lobby all the time.

BTW we're doing the same thing - instead of CL we're opting for the deluxe dining plan. The only thing that would change that is if the 7/4 offer was extended to next year. Then I would change to the deluxe CL BC room (for the extra space!).

Fantastic, thank you :goodvibes

I did think about whether they would be doing the 7/4 deal again, but I think I'm going to stick with the waterview room, I just don't think the YC CL is fantastic enough to justify the price, 7/4 deal or not lol

Hi! We're staying at BC in two weeks :woohoo: Travelling with a 4.5-year old and a just-turned-2-year old, and this will be our first trip to Disney. We'll have a car during our vacation, and we're trying to determine what is the best way for us to get to/from the Magic Kingdom? I understand the pro of the bus (besides not having to drive) is that it drops you off at the gate instead of across the lagoon, saving some time and walking. The con is that the bus is shared between 5 resorts, and can take a long time, be crowded, and may be a hassle with the big stroller.

How long should I budget for the bus, including waiting time, to arrival at MK gate? 30-50 minutes?

How long should I budget for driving, including driving, parking, walking, waiting for the boat/monorail to cross the lagoon, etc.? About 40-50 minutes?

We plan on only spending the am at the parks, since the 2-year old needs a nap, we'll likely return to the room after lunch, and *may* go back to the park after nap (but only on some days, more than likely we'll stay at the pool).

THANKS!

This question may not belong here but if I'm renting points for BCV, how can I ask for 2 queen beds in 2nd bedroom of 2-bedroom villa? I'm contemplating staying at BCV instead of BWV next year and like the idea of 2 queen beds. Also can you request a pool view room or waterview room if you rent points? I helped my DBFF's daughter with her ressies last August but I booked her direct thru Disney and she got a beautiful view of Stormalong Bay. My worry is I'll sacrifice the view that I got w/BWV boardwalk view by staying at BCV and get not-such-a-great view.

The DVC Member will have to request the 2 Queen beds at the time of booking the reservation. It is a booking category and very limited in availablity (only 25, I believe). I suggest that this reservation be made right at the 11 month window, or the 2 Queen beds may not be available.
We love the BCV, it is our home resort. That said there are not any really great views. It is situated behind the BC and you can not see SAB from the Villas at all. There are views overlooking the quiet pool, a canal (with a Service Road beyond) or the woods. It is definitely not like having a Boardwalk View at the BWV, if that is important to you
Have a Great Trip.

Every time we stayed at YC or BC the MK bus was for YC and BC only. There are even different lines at the MK bus stop for YC/BC, then another for BWI and Swan and Dolphin.

HTH.

we're trying to determine what is the best way for us to get to/from the Magic Kingdom

Having stayed at BC with kids of those ages, we did a couple different things when going to MK. Like you, we'd head out in the morning. Sometimes we'd start out the day by walking into Epcot and grabbing a morning snack as we worked our way up to the front of the park to catch the monorail to MK. My kids LOVE the monorail ride, so this route was very popular for us. And of course it was great to just roll our double jogger right on the monorail. So that's one way we did (and still do) it. Another way is to not pack the jogger full of stuff in the morning and have it ready to be folded for the bus. Have a plan in mind at the bus stop (I always have the kids while DH folds and loads the jogger). It's not as bad as you think, really. We do prefer the monorail route, but we also don't mind taking the bus from time to time.

As far as how long it takes, it varies depending on wait time, crowds, etc. I always set aside about 40 minutes in my head. Most of the time we're not in a hurry to get to MK, so the time doesn't matter to us. I would personally take a bus over a car. Maybe just try the bus once and see how good or bad it is for you. Also try the monorail route and you might really like that too.

Have fun! We'll also be at BC very shortly and can't wait to get there!

Cool! So the shared buses with BWI and Swan/Dolphin is only for some locations? If that's the case, then the bus is not as bad as I originally thought. Thanks much for the response!

Thanks for the response! Monorail sounds fun and I'm sure my son would it, however, I only got regular base tickets without the Park Hopper option. Maybe it's worth adding Park Hopper? Can you get into the monorail at Epcot without going through the park?

No, you must use admission media. You actually enter at the International Gateway. It's about a 20 minute walk to the monorail. Then you must transfer to the express monorail or ferry at the TTC. The bus is not as much fun but usually much faster. Depending on our plans after the MK, we sometimes drive.

We'll be at YC and BCV in December. I know I can fill my mug at the Marketplace, but is there anywhere at YC to fill your refillable mug?

Thanks:goodvibes

Yes, at the bar in the lobby....always forget the name.

You can also get refills at Hurricane Hannah's and B&C.

We just returned from the Beach Club. Every morning my father would go down to the Marketplace and return with free coffee. Apparently the marketplace doors open at 6:30, but they don't officially open until 7. From 6:30 to 7 those with refillable mugs would slumber down to fill their mugs, but there were also disposible cups with lids for those who wanted some coffee. Some harder mornings he would bring us each two cups.

Nice.

We got a room that has 2 Queen Size Beds and a Daybed in it. We normally stay at FW Cabins and DH wasn't crazy about a changed but the rest of us wanted to try the BC. Would love to hear your opinions/tips/suggestions. We could not get a BCV 1 BR so we opted to just stay in a room. We have never been here but it seemed fitting, since we are big EPCOT lovers  So what can you tell me!??????popcorn::

The access to Epcot can not be beat. It is only a few minute walk. DHS is also just a short boat ride away.

My only major complaint about the BC is the very limited selection of CS food. The Marketplace also closes at 11:00 PM so plan accordingly.

I did frequent the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast. It is close by and offers a better selection than the Marketplace.

If you spend lots of time at Epcot, you will absolutely love being a 5 minute walk away!!! The only thing you may have trouble with is the size of the room since you normally have lots more room in the cabins! I just wanted to also let you know that there are no guarantees that you will get two queens and a daybed. No bedding is guaranteed and you can't "reserve" a room with two queens and a daybed. I would imagine with your travel party that you will most likely get a room with a daybed, however, you should definitely make "two queens and a daybed" a request on your reservation! Also, to avoid disappointments, you should know that half of the rooms only have a standing balcony.

Hopefully you will get some warm weather and have a chance to experience SAB!!!
