Hi All,

We've booked our 3rd stay at the BC for 12/11-12/15. We are excited. We love the resort especially since it's so close to our favorite area--World Showcase. Have enjoyed reading the thread and will keep checking it as the days slowly pass till our trip.

Thanks Teena for all the info and hope to say hello if you're there in December!

I just wanted to say thanks to Teena and all the other posters in this thread! What a wealth of information!

We're looking forward to our upcoming trip and staying at the YC. We've never stayed at a deluxe resort before and just can't wait. We tend to spend a lot of time in the World Showcase during our trips and we've always sighed and said "someday" when we would pass the International Gateway. DH actually proposed in Epcot very close to the IG during our last trip in '06. Well, we've saved up all year and our "someday" is finally coming! We'll be celebrating the anniversary of his proposal/early 2nd wedding anniversary in Nov/Dec. :)

We've requested a King bed standard view room at the YC. With arrival on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I have a feeling our chances of actually getting one will be slim to none. Any advice?

My daughter and her boyfriend are coming for two weeks in December and since they are here so long, I'm going to work my normal Sundays and Mondays the whole month. So, I look forward to meeting you!

No advice ... it's the luck of the draw. Unfortunately there just aren't that many king beds in the whole resort. Just make sure you have "anniversary - king bed requested" as your request. Hopefully if you get queens, you won't be too disappointed. It's so hard since there are so few of them and they could already be in use on the day you arrive. If it's that big of a deal, if there are no kings available when you check-in, ask them if you can room change to one when one becomes available in a day or so.

I talked to one of the Market Place managers today regarding the Beaches & Cream breakfast and apparently it is going to end this week. She said they have had lots of positive comments but quite a few negative ones too, mainly from vacation club members that don't want to walk to B&C to get the stuff they had previously purchased in the Market Place. So, we have no idea of whether it is going to return or not. The minute I hear anything definitely, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Hi Teena,

Just wondering....if they stop the B&C breakfast, if there is another place (besides the Marketplace) to get a counter service breakfast (Dining plan)at Y&B? We're staying on the Yacht side in late August (29th and on...) and the Marketplace is a bit far to walk to (and I've heard alot of negatives about it also). Thanks!!!

At the Ale & Compass, the little outcove against the wall in the YC lobby, they serve muffins and a few other breakfast items ... similar to what they serve at the Marketplace.

I personally thought the B&C breakfast was a hit ... obviously they didn't get enough positive feedback or it would have stayed open. Maybe if enough people complain that it's gone, they will open it again.

We LOVED the B&C breakfast - I sent an email to guest communications saying that we thought it was great. Maybe if others send one they'll think about reopening it. I can't imagine what people WOULDN'T like about it.

Teena - here's a question (you know I'm going crazy getting ready to make my summer 2010 reservations) - for a standard room with a decent view (and full balcony or patio) would you recommend BC or YC.

We loved being at BC, close to the marketplace and EPCOT, and we loved the quiet elegance of YC. I think we are leaning more towards BC, but wondered (if we kept the standard room reservation) are there many standard rooms at BC with a nice view? Of course if the 7/4 deal comes back we're right back to the deluxe club room! How funny is this - DH LOVED the deluxe room and said if we get that again he wants the same room (if possible) - 1557!

We are planning our first visit to the BC next June and we are SOOOO excited!!! This trip will consist of myself, DH, DD-12 and DS-11. Is is possible that we will be given a room with a daybed or can we request a rollaway bed? My kids are at an age where they don't want to sleep together and none of us want to sleep with my DD. She's a very restless sleeer and has been know to kick and hit in her sleep.

Also, if we need to request a rollaway bed, do I have this marked on the reservation or do it at check-in? Is there an additional cost for this?

Last summer we did a Grand Gathering at BC - 4 room. One of the rooms was my three older ds's and my mom. When we checked in their room had 2 queen beds. We just called down and they sent up a rollaway asap.

I'd go with the BC ... but there are lots of ugly standard views. But there are also lots of ugly standard views at the YC. I totally prefer the atmosphere of the BC more. When they schedule me over at the YC, I'm not as happy. I call it the dark side. However, lots of people prefer it over there. I think with your kids, you are better off at the BC. The daybeds at the BC are nicer than the daybeds at the YC too. Being the closest to Epcot is a plus too for the BC.

You can add "daybed requested" onto your reservation. Or if you don't get a daybed, just request the rollaway at the front desk and one will be sent to you. There is no additional cost.

Thank you Teena!! Are there quite a few rooms that have daybeds?

I sent a letter about the Beaches and Cream breakfast and I actually got a phone call back about it. I guess it still wasn't enough. I also was so egerly looking forward to this in December. :(

I've read through this thread, but I think I may have missed the answer to my question if it's in here.

Do all the BC CL rooms have full balconies? We're most likely going to be booked in a standard (garden view?) concierge room. Also, is there a chance we'd still be on the SAB/lakeside even without having waterview? Part two of my question, how do you request things (full balcony, lakeside, etc.), and are the views pretty ugly from the non lakeside?

Thanks for the help, I'm new to this requesting stuff, my parents have always done all the requesting haha. Also, upgrading to CL is a surprise for my parents (they've already paid for a standard room), so I just wanted to make sure I've got the requests down so they don't find out :goodvibes.

Hi Teena, we will be leaving tomorrow night from nj and hope to get there around 3pm. Will you be there? Hope to see you, getting so excited for first BC stay.

Thanks TeenaS!!

I'll try to send an email about B&C.

Almost all of the BC CL Standard rooms have full balconies. If you see water, it's a waterview. If you book a standard room CL, you have a 50/50 chance of getting a pretty ugly view (roof). Ask yourself though, is spending that extra money for a waterview worth it? Will you really be spending lots of time out on the balcony or when you are in the room are you most likely just sleeping or showering or changing clothes. Only you can make that decision.

A request is just that ... it's a request. Nothing is guaranteed. If you definitely want a full balcony, then make your request "full balcony please" on your reservation. However, if you are booking CL standard view, you might not really care about that full balcony. Doubt they are going to sit out there and look at a roof. Requesting a nice view if you book a standard view ... well, everybody wants a nice view and there just aren't that many ... hence why it's a standard view. Depending on how full we are, chances are if you book standard view rooms, you are probably going to get a view you really aren't thrilled about. There are a few that are pretty but those are the courtyard views and there just aren't many of them.

If you book a water view, definitely make your request "full balcony please". That should take care of it. I hate to give people false hope. I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised. If I told you you had a good chance of getting a garden view when you book the standard view, I'd be lying. There are a few, but not that many. Personally, I could care less what the view is and I don't care about the balcony since I'm only in the room long enough to sleep, shower and change clothes. But plenty of people spend lots of time on their balcony, having coffee or wine and looking out at the lake. If your parents are like that, then you should definitely book them a waterview!!

I should be there when you get there unless I'm on break -- if I'm not there greeting you when you walk in the door, just ask the curbside greeter to come get me from break ... I just sit in the back office. I caught a lousy cold or flu on the airplane I think coming home from the cruise. Went to the doctor's today and hopefully the antibiotics will kick in tomorrow and I'll feel better. I just started running a fever too. I hate flying because of the germs!
