I am almost sure it opens the same time as the main gate, you are then shepherded in the future world direction.
We just got back from the YC, this was our 6th time staying there and if it wasn't for it's location and pool it would be our last. Has anyone else noticed the dramatic difference in quality there?
I have always loved staying at the YC, but this time things were out of whack, I have such a stronge admiration for the property from prevoius visits I hate to report this negative stuff.
Very dirty room was my biggest issue. I found a prevoius guests sock lying next to my bed, and a small yelow sticky goo like melted candy next to my bed. My sheets were never changed even though we stayed 7 nights, my floor was not vacummed ever and even though I put soiled towels in the tub to be changed out they were hung back up by hosekeeper. Also the quiet pool area had multitude of problems, including pot smoking guests, cockroaches, mildew, and snails. Stormalong pool had way too many ducks swimming around trying to eat our snacks. The hallway had a huge hole in the wall. The woman in the room adjacant to us would chain smoke on her balacany at night. The airconditioner leeked water so we could not place our things anywhere near there. Someone put a roomservice tray outside my doorway and it sat there for over 8 hours. Roomservice trays outside of rooms was the norm everywhere we walked.
Hi everyone,
My family and I returned from a quick weekend getaway at the Beach Club. We were booked in a standard view room on the Club Level, staying Thursday 7/23-Sunday 7/26. We arrived at the resort around 12:30, self parked, and walked to the outside check in area for club level. The CM whisked us upstairs, very friendly, and checked us in. It was my mom, adult cousin and I and we really wanted a daybed, but unfortunately none were available so they offered to give us a rollaway free of charge. I didn't realize they did charge for them, but it ended up working out fine for our stay. The only minor annoyance (which didn't bother us but I could see bothering others) is that you couldn't keep it down during the day because it blocked the door to the balcony. He gave us a quick tour of the lounge itself and then told that we would get a text when our room was ready.
While eating a quick lunch at Hurricane Hanna's, we decided we wanted to try the Cape May for Dinner so we hopped upstairs and she was able to get us 8:10 reservations for dinner and told us I should be receiving a text any second that my room is ready - she was right! We were in 5704. LOVE the new refurbished rooms! I've never stayed in the old ones but I've seen pictures and these are much more my style. We had the lovely view of the roof top and part of the resorts valet area. But I could see Spaceship Earth and the Land very clearly which was neat. Oh and we had a full balcony.
Stormalong Bay - used the pool all 3 days we were there. It is officially my favorite pool. We bought noodles to use on the lazy river and we literally spent hours just floating around in it. I do think the tubes seem bulky and too big for the amount of people there and the size of the tubes, especially the double tubes. What also surprised me was how uncrowded the pool felt despite how crazy crowded it was outside the pool. We did have difficulty getting chairs, even just one to put our stuff on, in the afternoons which I think is to be expected at that time of the day. Thursday and Friday they were very strict about giving out wristbands, but on Saturday I saw tons of people without them. I also saw the "towel police" who would walk around and remove towels off chairs that looked like no one was there, i.e. no shoes, not bags, no other personal belongings besides towels.
Clambake - I was very pleasantly surprised with this meal. I'm not a big clams and oyster girl but I left stuffed and I think I would actually eat here again. My fave though? The brocolli slaw. Must find that recipe. I was craving it for the rest of the trip.
No thoughts on the busses since we didn't use any...and the walk to Epcot was super quick (we left through the BC main entrance).
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
I'm going to post the club level offerings during my stay in my next post, too.
We just got back from a lovely stay at the Beach Club Club level! It was our first stay at the Beach Club and everyone loved it! DH is sold and wants to stay there from now on!
We were in room 5721. It had a beautiful view of Stormalong Bay and the Boardwalk! It was breathtaking!

The room did not have a day bed, but we didn't need it so it didn't matter to us. Just an FYI.
The room is also at the very end of the second hallway (only one room beyond it). But the good part about that is that means the view from the balcony was great!
The room really was perfect for us!!

Hi everyone,
I promised to post the food offerings during my recent stay (7/23-7/26). Sorry it took me a few days to do so...I'll only post what was offered during our stay so Monday-Wed is out unfortunately. But it gives you an idea.
Thursday:

evening appetizers - chicken skewers, greek salad, caprese salad, cheese and crackers and the rest of the "usuals"
desserts - mini dessert cups of chocolate peanut butter mousse and white chocolate rasberry mousse
Friday:
breakfast - croissants, bagels, assorted melons, apples, oranges and bananas, cereal - fruit loops, raisin bran, cheerios, lemon poppyseed bread, cinammon muffins, banana bread
snacks - same except no swedish fish - banana chips instead
evening apps - chicken skewers with cucumber sauce, crab rangoon and spicy sweet and sour sauce, cheese and crackers, veggie tray with ranch dressing, hummus and pita, ants on a log
desserts - rice krispy treats, lemon cake, chocolate apricot cake (although my mom could not taste the "apricot")
Saturday:
breakfast - same as previous day however no lemon poppyseed bread - mini blueberry muffins
snacks - same as previous day however no banana chips - yogurt pretzels
evening apps - usuals plus chicken skewers and bacon wrapped scallops
desserts - all from cape may! - oreo bonbons, mini vanilla cupcakes, and mini rasberry cheesecakes
The staff does indeed have a list of the menu listing what foods are scheduled to be offered on what day. Of course I'm sure it changes occasionally but it is there because she showed it to me our first afternoon there when I asked what the hot items would be. It lists the food by day.
Sodas - coke, diet coke, sprite, and gingerale were plentiful and out all day as was water. Chocolate milk was available upon request. The milk in the morning was skim and 2%. The "juice" varied during our stay. I saw lemonade, iced tea, cranberry and apple juice. I didn't drink and didn't pay too much attention to the alcohol but I did see sam adams beers, kahlua and disaronno out in the evening.
Thanks for this info. But is this for BC or YC? Have you stayed at both? Do you (or anyone else out there) think they are the same menus for both clubs?
Just wondering...
