Welcome back Teena. Sounds like you had a great time.

Just over a month and we'll be at the BC. I'm getting so excited. Can't wait to meet you.

I don't know if this has been discussed, but I was wondering ... with the recent renovation of the rooms at BC, were the suites redone at all? I fantasize about staying in the Newport Suite one day, LOL! ;)

I know that you like the Beach Club, since you work there, but is the BC your favorite resort to stay in? How about before you worked at Disney?

That's a hard question. If my daughter ever decides to get married, we would definitely have the wedding at the Y&B and we'd all stay at the BC. However, when we came to visit WDW before we moved here, we stayed all over the place. When it was the yearly week vacation with the three of us, I'd have to say my husband and daughter usually picked the GF. However, we also picked Animal Kingdom Lodge as the last place for our Disney vacation before we moved here. When Jeanne and I came for a quick three or four day weekend, we loved to stay at Port Orleans in Alligator Bayou. My mother loved the BC the most but disliked the YC. When we visited WDW, we rarely spent time in the pool ... we ran like crazy all day at the parks so SAB wasn't a biggy for us. However, like I said before, we've talked about a future Disney wedding and the BC is the family's choice. It's not because I work there either. My husband worked at the Contemporary and we never even considered having a wedding there. The BC feels homey to us and not resorty (is that even a word?) and that's why we love it so much.

Teena,
Reading about having your hopes for your daughters wedding at the Y&BC gave me warm feelings of last April of when My wife and I were married at the Yacht Gazebo. We are New Englanders so we felt right at home with the theming.
We don't regret picking this as our wedding venue one bit.
Now we are on our way back to the Beach Club for our one year anniversary the same week of our wedding last year.
We truely love it here, the theming is dead on with how Nantucket and Cape Cod Are, we feel right at home.

Hoping one day we can stay in the Nantucket or the Newport Suite.
I tried to splurge a bit for next month and surprise my wife with this room
but couldnt afford either. wouldve made our one year wedding anniversary
really complete since we got married here.

BTW, didnt the BC drop these two names and just leave it as the presidential suite and some other name
for the second one?

They have their "proper" names but we also call them the Presidential and Vice Presidential Suite.

The Vice Presidential is my favorite of all the suites at the BC. It's absolutely perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary!!!!!! If I ever got to stay there, I'd only leave the room to run to the lounge to grab food and drink and bring it back to stay in the room or sit on the huge balcony! And the bathroom ... WOW!

Welcome home Teena! I am glad you had a great trip. We are also big fans of the Disney Magic. On our last cruise we had some very special pixie dust sprinkled on us and it has left a lasting impression. Also a big fan of the Golden Mickeys and sorry to see it go. Castaway Key is just pure heaven.... I guess you will have to book another cruise so you can really enjoy it with some nice weather.

Glad you had a lovely trip Teena. 13 weeks today we start our journey to the beach club (it'll be monday tea-time before we arrive though). I look forward to saying Hi:)

Although we are not a fan of the shorter cruises, since the Magic is leaving us for six months, we may have to think about one of the 5 night double dips to Castaway Cay on the Wonder. August doesn't work for us but maybe one of them in July although I can't imagine how hot the weather is then. We normally only cruise in the spring and fall. Have to really think about it. I'm not sure I can wait until the Magic returns in late September.

If I'm doing the math right, that means you are arriving in July?? If so and it's on a Monday, I should be there waiting to greet you (unless I decide to jump on that cruise I was just talking about on the Wonder that has two stops at Castaway Cay).

Teena I'm selfishly hoping that cruise wouldn't be in the July 18-August 2 range. We would definitely miss seeing you there! It wouldn't seem like BC without your smiling face in the lobby!

We made a change while you were gone. My in-laws are joining us for the first week so we changed from the deluxe club room (which we love) to two gv CL rooms. The kids love being on the same floor as other family members when we travel so it was worth the sacrifice. We have traveled with them twice before and stayed at YC. They loved YC and I'm sure they'll love BC. This will be their first time staying CL and we'll also be celebrating (belatedly) my fil's 80th birthday. We could have done one week gv CL and one week in the deluxe cl room but you know how DH feels about moving once we're settled in (LOL). We got AP rates so we're back on the DDP too!

Glad you're back - the BC/YC boards seemed too quiet with you gone!

Welcome home Teena. Your cruise sounds lovely. About how many cruises have you been on? I really want to try DCL sometime but can't seem to tear myself away from the resorts :cutie: You say Spring and Fall are your usual timeframe, do you prefer one over the other. Do seas tend to be calmer in the Spring? (sorry this is a bit OT ;))

What is it about the VP suite that makes it your favorite, if you don't mind my asking? Is it the view? The location? What is the bedding arrangement? Thank you in advance.

Just about 2 months 'til we'll be at the BC

Just got back from a wonderful stay at the BC from 3/20-3/27. We loved it!! Sorry we missed you Teena!

everything I write is just my opinion and not an opinion of the Walt Disney Company.

... what a nice community we have!!

Hey Teena. Maybe you could put the standard disclaimer in "We are not associated with Walt Disney World or any.......:rotfl:!

Also could tell you were back. The forum has jumped 2 pages in less than a day. As you folks say....:lovestrucWelcome Home:lovestruc! We missed you!

TeenaS~

Thanks so much! That was a big concern for me, .....

Thanks again!

That's what you do for us Teena. The answer you give us might not be the one we want to hear but at least we know and our concerns are gone. Thanks for taking time to take of us and look forward to meeting you in July!

We are staying at the BCV for the first time in 2 weeks and I'd like to know if the rooms were refurbished. I've read a couple reviews from 08 which state that the villas were in need of a refurb. Also what's the best 2 bdrm (floor, room #/view). Thanks a bunch....we are so excited for our stay:cool1: 12 days and counting:rotfl2::yay:
Thank you
Gail

We have taken 2 cruises in the last 2 years. both on the Magic - we did the western first and in August we were supposed to do the easter - but there was a hurricane so we did the Western again. I have to say it is the best vacation ever....you are treated like royalty...so much for the kids and adults to do....my kids absolutely loved it. We are planning another in 2012 (hopefully on the new FANTASY)

Thank you so much for all the advice and information you contribute to this board!

I am so excited about my family's first visit to WDW I can barely contain myself. Focusing on my work instead of your posts until May 1st is going to be very challenging.

Have a great day!

It's official, we will be staying at the Beach Club for a week, starting May 27th! :dance3: So happy! We stayed their last year and have been counting the days until we return! Hopefully we can meet you Teena and we look forward to seeing the amazing staff members that helped make our trip so memorable last year! :cool1: :cheer2:

I was thinking the same thing! The thread had gotten a little slow until Teena returned!
