The 2009 U2 Thread - No Line On The Horizon Album & Tour

Congrats on the GA!! However, yes, I do have FB and now that you've told me there are behind the stage I'm pretty upset!!! I don't think anything behind the stage should cost $250 dollars!!!! I really wish they would have been on the seating chart so that I knew where they were and could have picked something else! I feel like I totally wasted my presale code. So bummed now. :sad2:
Have you seen the images of the stage on u2.com? It is being touted as an "innovative 360 degree stage design" with unobstructed views for the audience. So, technically, there is no "behind the stage". I don't think you'll be disappointed. Check out the design here...http://360.u2.com/

Just got a call from a friend. We are going to two shows...Phoenix and Vegas. We got the expensive seats in Phoenix and GA in Vegas. It's gonna be awesome.

I've been hearing that behind the stage are supposed to be fantastic seats! Bono has been quoted as saying those will be some of the best seats in the house so we'll have to wait to see if that's true. I have a couple of friends who purposely bought behind the stage seats during the pre sale. Don't worry, I'm sure they will be great!

Ok, I'm over my disappointment now. Sorry, I'm just not very good with change or the unknown! I think there's just always been a stigma associated with seats behind the stage and I take my U2 shows very seriously. :rotfl:

Besides, when I went to Popmart at the LA Coliseum, I was so far away they looked like miniatures but it is still one of my favorite nights ever!

I'll still be jealous of all you guys in GA though. There's nothing better! :cloud9:

A buddy got some RED ZONE seats for $280 each...

He is sitting on EDGEs side, I told him to make sure does not rest his beer on the stage. Edge might trip.

Hi!! It's been a while and since the tour has kicked off in Europe I wanted to make sure this thread gets some action!!

For anyone with a Twitter account, they added a your tweat and have posted some interesting stuff so far!

As posted on @U2.com...

U2 have joined the masses on Twitter, establishing @U2_360Tour to give fans a look at life on the road and backstage on their 360 Tour, which is currently in Europe. So far, the Twitter feed has only hosted photos from the band but no text, so Bono hasn’t had to confine his thoughts to 140 characters just yet. Judging by the Twitter timeline, the photos were taken as the band traveled from Paris, having played two nights at the Stade De France, to Nice, where U2 were set to play Parc des Sports Charles Ehrmann last night, July 15th. A press release indicates that the bandmembers are snapping the photos themselves.

@U2_360Tour's first Tweet was an out-of-focus self-portrait of guitarist the Edge. From there, the band posted a series of pictures showing the (literally) red carpet treatment they receive en route to the airport. There are out-of-focus shots of women dragging luggage, off-duty traffic cops, giant Ferris wheels, a dish full of pastries and a picture of what appears to be all of Edge's onstage jewelry. The band hasn't posted any live performance shots.

As Rock Daily previously reported, U2 launched their 360 Tour -- complete with the innovative new stage some have dubbed "the Claw" -- on June 30th in Barcelona with a concert that included both a Michael Jackson tribute and a phone call to astronauts in orbit. Fans in the States will have to wait less than two months until the Irish rockers bring their concert across the Atlantic, starting with a September 12th show at Chicago's Soldier Field.

Can't wait until October!!!!

Hi Cinmell!!!

No, I have actually been avoiding the set lists as much as possible!! lol. I really want to be suprised!! However, I'm not opposed to them being posted or anything. ;) I'd love to hear So Cruel live and I know that will never happen.

I can't even remeber where I got my U2 people. I think I found it on a U2fansite a few years ago! I love it too, so cute! I only wish I had made it myself!

Anyway, can't wait to hear about other shows!! I hope everyone will report back after!!

I'll post more news if it looks interesting or helpful!

I usually am posting in setlist parties at Interference.com but I decided it against it until the US tour.

My friend is in Ireland with her husband to attend all 3 Dublin shows. They have GA for the first two and seats for the last show.

Another friend went to the Barcelona shows and told me about the craziness of the Claw/GA experience.

September can't get here soon enough for Chicago!:cool1:

U2, True Blood and Interference? We cross paths then!!

I was in Dublin 7/4 and 5 and had hoped maybe they'd be in town (though by then knew they're basing out of South of France). DH and I consoled ourselves with an Irish coffee and the Clarence (served privately in the study since the bar was closed!)

My favorite cut on the CD is Magnificent and wished they'd open with that -- it would truly work as an opener!

How lucky for all those who got to see them in other country! I would love to do that even though the GA seems kind of scary! I'm already worried about the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and that's only about 8,000ish on the field!!

I hope to make it out to Dublin in the next few years so maybe it can be when U2 is around!!

I've been told that the inside part of the CLAW holds around 2400 people and it's a tight fit. This is surprising considering during Vertigo and Elevation there was plenty of room to move around if need be.

I agree, it was roomy! We were able to get into that part of GA for every show we went to during Elevation but no luck during Vertigo. I'm hoping we get lucky in Pasadena since it's the only GA tickets we have!

You didn't get the Vertigo Vertigo that you won to get in! I did once and it was exciting. I took my friend with me and he bought me beers.

There is no lottery for Europe and there better not be for the US. It's a Stadium and it would be very difficult to do that with.

Also, if you get inside the CLAW. You cannot leave until the CLAW is full, then you get a stamp on your neck!

Didn't I read they will scan GA tickets again this tour and those who come up CLAW are the only ones that will get in that area? Of course, I prefer the old way since we used to get there early enough to get in the smaller area but I'm pretty sure those days are over!! :sad1:

Actually U2.com said there would be no lottery and for Europe there has not been a lottery but many complaints about the lines. I do not trust U2.com's announcement will hold true for the US until the Chicago shows.

I was at the San Diego opener for Vertigo and they didn't know anything definitive until that morning.

However, the no lottery does not work if the gates do not open at the same time. Then, it's just the luck of the draw then. Also for Dublin 1, they had one line and then you could choose. But for Dublin 2, they had two lines: 1 for the Pit (claw) and 1 for the Pitch. My friend was at both shows and she got into the Pit for the 1st show but it was so crowded they wanted out but the guards didn't want to let people out but did eventually. Dublin 2 was messed up because people who choose the Pit line were not supposed to be able to take up Pitch (outer rail) spots but did so many unhappy campers!

Wow! That sounds like a mess! I hope they work some things out before our turn!
