"Fay"

August 16-23

 Just the week before, a got back my
job after being laid off after 18+ mos.
All the rain and wind in the "world" didn't
stop yours trully from having a GREAT time!:lmao:

We made it through Fay as well but she was a Tropical Storm not a Hurricane.

Best trip ever. No crowds and wasn't hot in August. Also won ultimate fan experience for Star Wars Weekend 09

Another TS Fay survivor here. My only issue was that I didn't get as much time in the Clown pool at BWV as I would have liked.

I survived Fay also (albeit at the end of the storm)! August 22-29. First two nights at CBR, rest at BWV.

Add us to the list of WDW Fay Survivors!!!

A day at WDW beats a day anywhere else, even if its accompanied by Fay.

:woohoo: :yay: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :rotfl:  :dance3: :rolleyes1

We survived hurricane Floyd, Charlie and Frances at WDW.

I can't think of a better place to wait out a hurricane. Disney and DVC was great about preparations and services during the storms. They provided great suggestions (fill the tub with water) and flashlights for Floyd and great perks (2 TV channels devoted to films for children and adults) for Charlie and Frances.

In all cases, WDW was up and running as soon as they found it was safe.

Survived Faye as well. It was ok at WDW (where we took refuge), but not so fun at VB. Drove through active tornado warnings. DD's college campus was hit really hard and had to close for 3 days due to Faye (so I didn't consider "her" a fun storm at all).
Had trouble getting back home---our flight was cancelled and took us another 36 hours to get back to Philly.

Also experienced tropical storm Katrina back in 1999.......not as bad......

Fay!
aLSO wILMA BACK IN 2005- they actually closed the parks for 1/2 day.

Fay survivor here also. August 19-22, I took my two DD, ages 7 and 5. We had the best time together, I was very worried about being down there with the weather without DW. She usually is in charge of keeping the girls occupied in the lines. I must say it was one of my favorite WDW memories.

I was there for Fay. It was actually our first official trip "home" and it was a bit disappointing. Out of all the times I've been to Florida in hurricane season, this was the only time I got hit with anything.

Fay!

Our chant became "Fay Fay go away so the sun can come out an play!"

and when the sky started to clear my mom and i pointed up and shouted

"look!! It's THE SKY!!"

We were there 8/16-8/25....Got caught in torential downpour in EPCOT and sat in soaking wet clothes for dinner at Tutto Italia. Wonderful sunshine starting 8/23!! Swimming.....YEAH!!!

Had a family group of 11 for the week of TS Fay August 17 - 23rd. Some nights we thought we were on an episode of "Deadliest Catch"! But everyone had a good time - we even had a family photo shoot at GF and for a moment it stopped raining and the photographer happily rushed everyone out to the beach for photos. In under a minute, it started again but we kept posing; some of those photos with sprinkles on our shirts will help us remember Fay forever!

Fay person here too. We really enjoyed the break from the heat, but after 5 days of solid rain it got old... lol

Here is my boy enjoying it
