Calling all POFQ experts!!!!
I just saw the following statement on another thread where the OP was asking which resort to choose - CSR or POFQ:
CSR
You are comparing the moderate with the most amenities to the one with the least amenities. While FQ has lots of fans, I am not going to pay those prices for a resort that has more the amenity package of a value resort. If I am looking for a value style trip, then I book value and use my money elsewhere.
I didn't want to stir up any trouble because I simply don't know enough about POFQ but is this statement valid in any way????
Some time in the past I posted the differences between Moderates and Values. In bold red, I'll add comments in light of the quote above:
Moderate rooms are 314 sq. ft. (except CBR rooms are 340).
Value rooms are 260 sq. ft.
The 54 square feet difference is about the size of two double beds.
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
Moderate rooms have a ceiling fan.
Value rooms don't.
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
Moderate rooms have a fridge.
Value rooms don't (or you'll pay $10/day to rent).
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
Moderate rooms have 2 sinks (except CSR's have 1).
Value rooms have 1 sink.
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values. And this is the one way that CSR is lacking.
Moderates have a pool slide and a hot tub.
Values have neither.
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
Moderates' bus stops are covered (think protection from rain and hot sun).
Values' bus stops are not covered.
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
Moderates have lush landscaping.
Values have more "hardscaping."
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
Moderates have a food court AND a table-service restaurant (except POFQ ... food court only).
Values have only a food court.
So yes, POFQ lacks this, but the walk from POFQ to POR's restaurant is no farther than the walk from some far-out rooms at CSR or CBR to their resorts' restaurants.
Moderates have some sort of recreational activity (e.g., boat rentals, bike rentals).
Values don't have that type of recreational activity.
So yes, POFQ lacks this, but the walk from POFQ to POR's dock/rental area is no farther than the walk from some far-out rooms at CSR or CBR to their resorts' similar features.
Moderates have a bar/lounge for adult beverages (CBR's is outdoor but covered, as befits the theme of the resort).
Values don't have a bar or lounge (but you can get adult beverages at Pop).
Here, POFQ is like the other Moderates, not like the Values.
At Moderates, the maximum room charge limit is $1,000.
At Values, it's $500.

EXTRA CREDIT:
POFQ and POR have boat service to Downtown Disney.
CSR has full room service, and a gym.
Values are much more "kid-themed" and whimsical-looking than the Moderates.
