There is a layout in the Passporter--our local library carries it if you don't want to buy it.
That channel is no longer at any resports. My kids missed it :(
Thanks. Is there anyone who has a Passporter and is willing to scan a layout for me? I guess I could find the library in this town, but I haven't been there yet! :lmao: (I did go quite a bit before we moved here. )
Sad about the story time channel. When did it go and why? I actually never got to use it either. :guilty: Is there anything else comparable?

For a room diagram I suggest you go to http://www.disney.ca/vacations/disneyworld/II/B/7/guestrooms.html

Not only do they have a room diagram, they also have a 360-degree view of one of the actual rooms so you can get a better idea of the layout.

I stayed at POFQ for the first time in 2002 and I'm returning in Sept. I can hardly wait!

Anyone know what form of transportation goes from POFQ to Grand Floridian and how long it takes to get from one to the other? I'd like to eat at 1900 Park Fare our first night at WDW since we won't be going to any of the parks on arrival day.

Also, is it a long walk from POFQ to POR if we wanted to eat breakfast at Boatwrights?

Thanks for the info.

Is there any room for under the bed storage?
Does anyone have a layout diagram of the room?
Where do you normally put a pack & play in a double room?

The beds are on platforms so there is no under bed storage..

When we had the "pack & play" my dd wasn't standing yet so we put it in the sink area under the hangers. The one we got at the resort was this metal cage thingy and she wouldn't sleep in it. Then the morning we were checking out mousekeeping came by and asked if we wanted a real pack & play... :furious:

We didn't know that they had them or we would have asked when we first got the steel cage! Oh well... ;)

There is no direct route from POFQ to Grand Floridian unless you take a cab or have a rental car. You can take a bus to MK then take the monorail over to the Grand Floridian.

Boatwrights from POFQ is maybe a 15 minute brisk walk 20 if you meander over.

Good luck! :goodvibes

It is not a long walk at all. It was a very nice stroll along the water. Also, depending on what time you go to breakfast you can take the boat there or back. That was a great feature as well.

We will be driving and taking our own pack & play that he is used to. But, he is standing. We may have some rearranging to do. lol. :confused3

Great link! I love the 360! I may visit it every day! If our room has the same layout, I think I may be moving the bench to under the hangers.
We may be hanging more clothes than normal since there isn't much storage for luggage. Where do you guys put your luggage?

That 360 was really cool but I think it was from before they put the fridges in the room. I think the fridge was in a small cabinet next to the bench. I didn't pay enough attention to know if that would leave enough room for the pack n play but I'm sure you'll find someplace for it.

Ah, ok. I did notice that it said that fridges were extra on that site.

The fridge is free at POFQ now and have been for a while. I can't remember how long though..LOL :thumbsup2

lol. I read this whole thread and I can't even count how many times that was asked! lol

The fridges in POFQ have been free since the resort was remodeled in 2003.

Although the site with the room layout and the 360 view is a little outdated, the 360 is still a pretty good representation of what you can expect your room at POFQ to look like. Just add a small fridge (disquised to look like a cabinet).

Does anyone know what the best way to go about requesting a room is? We are checking in on Thursday:) so I know there isn't time to send them a letter. Can I call the resort directly? Or is it better to wait until check-in? Also, what type of room would you recommend requesting? I have DH and DD6 and DS4. I've heard a corner room is nicer and I've also heard that buildings 3 and 5 are totally non-smoking (a MUST for DH). Finally--which floor is the best to be on? I'd prefer it to be quiet at night or DD6 and DS4 won't sleep! thanks for any info you might have :) :) :)

Are the doors at POFQ Metal? I'm wondering about bringing some magnets to hang up our schedule.

YEAH! Now, I'll add magnets to the packing list AND I won't have to hear DH ask when we are doing what a million times!

I am going to POFQ in Sept. with Dh and 2 grandkids. We have requested via our TA a corner room w/2 beds. I read somewhere that corner rooms only have a king sized bed. Is this true? Also, I read in Passporter (I think) that there are NO hair dryers? Is this also true? :sad2: I really don't want to pack a hair dryer. How about coffee maker? I can't WAIT to go and see WDW thru the grandkids eyes! It's all I think about. Guess I have Disney Fever!

We just stayed there in January and they did have hair dryers and a coffee maker. Unless they've changed something you should be fine without packing the dryer. We also had a corner room on the third floor with 2 beds.
Hope this helps. :)

We went in May and had room 5341, it was a corner room with 2 double beds. There are hair dryers, coffee makers, and fridges in all the rooms.

Have fun!
Here are some pics from our last trip there: http://www.lynntabor.com/victoria/pofq-05-06.htm
