The 100% Original POFQ FAQ

Lori -
We just returned from our first trip to WDW in mid-June and stayed at the POFQ. It was a wonderful resort - I can't imagine that you and your husband won't love it. We were in Bldg 3 -rooms 3337 and 3338 - and thought that the location was perfect. It was very peaceful and quiet but was still very close to the gift shop/lobby/food court, pool, laundry, etc. Technically, we had a "parking lot view", but the building is set back a ways from the parking lot, and there is a nice grove of trees between the two, so you don't really see/hear the parking lot but are close enough to get to your car quickly when you want to. I don't know if the entire building is non-smoking, but our rooms were. We would definitely ask for the same building the next time we go. Hope this helps!

Does anyone have any tips or activities for 3 adults (who are not romatically involved together) to do while at POFQ? We're going up for our annual Food & Wine Festival weekend. Would appreciate any info.! Thanks!

The boat to downtown Dis is very relaxing and there is Pleasure Island where there are adult nightclubs. We haven't been in quite a while because we always have the kids with us these days, but I remember the comedy club being very funny.

I posted this question over on the Riverside board, but I'm going to post it here as well, since either can answer.:)
Do the boats that go between PO and DTD, stop at the docks at both resorts coming and going? Our daughter has no stamina due to health problems, and I know if we wanted more eating choices we could just hop the bus to Riverside if we stayed at FQ. However, we would like a way to get back without wearing her out.
Thanks in advance.
Kim

When we were there in May the boat did stop in both directions between POR and POFQ and DTD so the boats ran:

DTD to POFQ to POR to POFQ to DTD

you would have to be sure that the bus was going to stop at POR because if they fill up at POFQ they dont stop at POR they dispatch another bus and the bus will go directly to the park.

Will be staying at POFQ for part of our December trip and was wondering if they have elevators?

I read that that POFQ has elevators but how many floors do the buildings have? Also, is the top floor of each building smoking?

~~Still looking for an answer~~
~~BUMP~~

Allison,

There are 3 floors to each bldg. I believe that there are only 2 (maybe 3) buildings that are designated as smoking. I'm not sure, but I think the entire building is smoking.

10/29-11/6. It's our first time staying at the hotel.
We could only get into the standard room category, the
view isn't that important to us, but we would really like to
get a king bedded room. Does anyone know if there are less
rooms with king beds? Are they harder to get?
Also, is anyone familiar with the Scat Bar that is at the hotel?
What kind of food do they serve there?
Thanks so much...I am getting so excited....Don't know how I
will make it through the next few months.

Also, we have tickets to the Halloween party on 10/29...
anyone else going that night?

Travelgoddess,

There are only about 60 rooms that offer king beds. I think they are slightly higher in price as well. I would suggest updating your reservation and asking for them to add the king bed request to it. That way when FQ gets the reservation and assign the room, they have that special request in front of them. I think they get the request 5 days ahead of your arrival so you can probably call the FQ direct and beg over the phone directly with the people assigning the rooms.

Good luck!

I have just booked four days in December for my DH and myself on the way to Atlanta to see the Grandkids. I am so excited as we have never stayed at this resort. I have mobility issues, however, and need to be as close as possible to the food court etc. I would really appreciate any suggestions as to a room to request. Thanks so much for your help.:wave2:

Lou-Ann, when you fax in your room location request (no more than 4 days before your arrival) be sure to specify why you need a specific location. Rather than requesting, say Bld 4, say you need to be near the food court (or wherever) and why. That way they can find the best way to meet your needs. Some rooms in Bld 5 are actually closer that Bld 4 for example.
