That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

Hi everyone!

Since we're getting close to the end of this TR, I thought I'd update on our next potential trips. First, I am one step closer to getting to visit my sister once she starts the college program!! A few of you might have seen my post on facebook but I went ahead and booked a room for a long weekend trip. I'm not going to reveal all the details since I'm still talking to my dad about a few things but I will say these three things:

1.) It will NOT be in December (sadly, after talking to Dad, aka manager of the DVC points, we ended up cancelling that reservation :sad2:).

2.) I will (most likely) NOT be staying at a DVC resort. :scared1:

3.) This will most likely be my first solo adventure!

The good news about cancelling the December reservation is that it freed up some Vacation Club points and we are probably going to use those for a spring break trip! (YAY Flower and Garden Festival!:flower1:).

Wow, that's a lot of most likelys/probablys. LOL. Once I wrap up this trip report, I'll share more. :thumbsup2 popcorn::

yay!!!!! More trips are great!!! At least you will be able to say that you get to go back sooner and will know when you are going when you get back from that trip!! :) I will hang out with you on your solo adventure!!!!!

Yay for visiting your sister & another Disney trip!!!

The weather looks much nicer on your DHS day!
Glad you found your pin!

A solo trip, huh? I'd be interested in reading about that. Part of me would really love to take a solo trip someday, but I'm just not sure if I would like it. Looking forward to hearing more. n

Why is it always that the last day is nice when the rest of the trip has crappy weather??

Yay for probably maybe trips. Those are better than definitely nots. And Yay for a solo trip! Can't wait to hear more about your plans.

Woot, woot! More trips! :mickeyjum So glad if you do go again it would be during the F&G festival, always a nice time to go and I would love to hear about your solo expedition :goodvibes And good luck to your sister on her endeavors in the DCP :thumbsup2

Wow a solo trip! That sounds like a lot of fun. I bet it will be fun to see all of the backstage magic and secrets your sister has learned from her DCP!

And yay for a spring break trip too! :yay:

Yay for your upcoming trips! :thumbsup2 I really want to attempt a solo trip someday, so I can't wait to hear how yours turns out!

A solo trip to visit your sister...there's something kind of incongruous there.

It sounds like a lot of fun! :cool1:

Yeah!! We will have to talk and try to get together when I'm down there. :thumbsup2

It was a great last day (other than the fact that we would be leaving the next day...).

Thanks, I was glad I found it too. Love Rapunzel!

A bunch of maybe's and possiblies are better then nothing! :rotfl2:

I agree!

I hear ya-a solo trip is both exciting and a little terrifying. I do have a friend who sounds like she's interested in coming if she can, so we'll see. Either way though I'm going so it might be my first time completely on my own!

I know, right? But really, our weather wasn't terrible the whole time. We did have some decent weather in between.

That is true! It's always nicer to have trips in the works than to be wondering when exactly you'll be going back.

I agree! It really is an awesome time to go. The F&GF is quickly becoming one of my favorite things in WDW! Can't believe she starts the CP in a little over 3 weeks.

I am very curious to see what kinds of secrets she'll find out.

I love going over spring break so I'm excited about that too. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I've always thought it could be kind of interesting so we'll see what happens!

haha, I get what you're saying...but who knows how much she'll be able to take off, especially because my parents will be going down a couple weeks before me. I'm just hoping I get to do something with her!

Solo trips are great! If you end up solo, you'll love it! It's really nice to just do exactly what you want, when you want, without consulting anyone else!

And you should resolve to try MS on your next trip! You said you used to be terrified of RnRC and now you love it....so you might be missing out on your new favorite ride!

Ooh excited to hear about your future plans!

It would be nice to get to do whatever I want to but at the same time I like having someone to hang out with. Is it weird getting in line for a ride and saying it's just you?

As for MS...we will see!

Ooh excited to hear about your future plans!

Stay tuned! popcorn::

Wow, is it really August already?! Where did the summer go? My sister is leaving for the college program THIS MONTH! So crazy.

As for me, summer school is finally over so hopefully I can finish this TR and tell you about my upcoming trip! For now, let's get back to our final day at Disney.

I should've posted these in the last update but forgot to look through Claire's pictures. She did have a couple of Tower of Terror and RNRC. Might as well share them to make up for the lack of pictures on our rainy days!

Once we were done with the three major attractions, we just enjoyed the nice weather. As we walked past the Sorcerer Hat, the new Disney Channel Rocks! show was going on. We didn't stop to watch but I would like to see it eventually.

I think we headed back toward the Backlot Tour. We just missed out on getting into the group ahead of us so we had to wait a few minutes. When we did get in, we had to bypass the preshow with the water cannons because they were having technical difficulties. So it was off to the trams! Surprisingly, neither of us took any pictures from the ride. Oh well. But the Backlot Tour is another one of those attractions where it's just a nice place to relax.

When we were done with our tour, we spotted the meet and greet location for Mike and Sulley. The line wasn't too long so we joined in. I remember meeting Sulley when Dad and I were in Disneyland but I've never met Mike before. In the line they have this fun bulletin board with info from the monster world. Gotta love the Business Shriek magazine with the barcode right over Mike's face.

Here's our picture with the two of them. :)

By that time we were ready for some lunch. We decided on Pizza Planet since we hadn't been able to eat there at all earlier in the week and it's one of our favorites. We got our pizzas and found a table outside. It was just too nice of a day to eat inside and I wanted to enjoy every last minute of the sunshine.

Before saying good-bye to Hollywood Studios, there were two more things I wanted to do. First, I wanted to catch one more show at the American Idol Experience (I must be obsessed). I don't remember too much about the show except that the guy who ended up winning said how his wife forced him into auditioning. He sang "Old Time Rock and Roll" and he was actually pretty good! Of course, he was also the last to perform and it seems like the person who goes last always wins. But he was well deserving.

After AIE, our last stop was going to be Starring Rolls Cafe. I had read in a bunch of TRs about the cupcakes and how good they are. Unfortunately, on the last two trips we've had bad luck because the cafe closes earlier than the rest of the park. We were not going to miss out again, so we decided to go check it out. I told Claire about the Butterfinger cupcake so that's what we ended up getting. If you've never had one of them before, the cupcakes are HUGE and can easily be shared between two (or even three) people. Check out the size of this thing:

OK, so that's only half of it but you get the idea. But it was SO good! We ended up taking half of it with us because we couldn't finish it all.

Because we had done everything we wanted to, we were ready to head out. Where would we go next?

WHOA, I can't believe how dark it was when you were at the Contemporary! You'd think that was the middle of the night and not time for breakfast! I wonder how weird that looks while in the parks!

Not only are little kids braver than we are, they also sometimes have stronger stomachs and don't get dizzy like we do! Haha, that's what I hear in the back of my mind after I tell myself, "Oh, it can't be that scary if the little kid is riding it." I think you can totally handle M:S green though. You do go on the other thrill rides like ToT and RnR! Those are two that I WON'T do!

Haha, and of course you'd be fine on Sum of All Thrills as long as you designed your own ride, held on to your card, and didn't let anyone bump into you ...

Even though there was no campfire, I like that they still provided the no-bake cookie activity. It could've been much easier to just cancel it and not have a replacement, but I like that they filled it with something! And yay for your bomb diggity cookie! Haha.

Ooo, a solo adventure?!? FUN!

Yum, that cupcake looks delicious! Howard and I decided that we want to try the peanut butter chocolate one ... :D

I tried to get the cupcake last week when I was there but it was closed :( I'll have to go earlier next time!!!

I love the theming in the Monsters meet-and-greet queue. It had so many great details, but I think the magazine with the barcode over Mike's face is my favorite.

That cupcake looks huge! We've never tried Staring Rolls before. Perhaps we should check it out.

We loved Starring Rolls! I got the butterfinger cupcake too and my DH helped me eat it :rolleyes1(along with his brownie)

I really want to try Pizza Planet, but Sci Fi has won the toss for Sept,

I can't wait to hear about your next trip! Good Luck to your sister!

It would be nice to get to do whatever I want to but at the same time I like having someone to hang out with. Is it weird getting in line for a ride and saying it's just you?

As for MS...we will see!

The only time I really miss being with someone is mealtime.
It's a little weird saying 'just one' in the line, but after a few times you can tell the CM's don't think it's weird....they get it all the time, so it's just another party to them. I didn't get any weird or pitying looks.

Wow that cupcake is massive!
