That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

I love the Seas with Nemo, but once we do the ride, I'm always ready to run out of there and do something else, and DH wants to hang out and look at all the fish! I like the manatees, but I have no patience for much else! He could spend a whole afternoon in there! :rotfl:

Yay for a short wait time for Soarin again!

OKW sounds like fun, they seem to have lots of activities to keep you busy on a rainy day! :cool1:

I was hoping that you would be making the trip down with your sister and then we could all meet up...well if anything changes let me know!!

That's really funny that you mentioned that :) I read that article a couple of weeks ago and though of everyone on the DIS who references stacey alot :)

I thought it was so funny they had an interview with her.

Sounds like a nice relaxing evening and afternoon!

Survivor on vacation, sounds familiar! ;)

haha yup, even on vacation we can't miss our TV shows.

Yay, you have sunshine coming up!

Okay, love the no bake cookie making! That cookie definitely looks pretty tasty, I have to say.

Yes, FINALLY the weather is going to turn around. It was a nice way to end our trip.

Hey, at least you caught Survivor! Love that show:thumbsup2 The night it downpoured on us was American Idol night, and that was the night they were in Milwaukee! It was a must see:lmao:

I'm glad to see you made to must of a rainy day. Nice cookie!

haha, actually, it was also American Idol results night but Claire for some reason couldn't find the FOX channel. LOL.

I am joining in real late, but am caught up.

Sorry about all your rain and cloudy days! :scared1:
That picture from the contemporary is scary! Hard to believe its daytime.

Sounds like you had plenty of fun too though.
You definatelly sell the early mornings, I love going early, but can't get the kids (now teens) up anymore.

Glad that you met so many characters!
Exciting that you met Pirate Goofy, I don't remember ever seeing him.

The flower & garden festival looks amazing! I'd love to go sometime. We were there before it started this year and saw some topiaries, but it was not the same. You have some amazing photos, especially on the sunny days. The flowers looks so colorful!

Amazing safari experience with the lions. Thats exciting to see them up! Great photos too!

We saw Harry Potter and really enjoyed it. I thought about the midnight showing, but we decided on Friday. Plans got changed and we ended up with Sunday morning, but still made that first weekend. We are going to try to go again to the IMAX next weekend, hopefully it will work out.

Did you see the Universal news on opening night? Wish I had been there! Everyone at the CitiWalk theater was invited to WWOHP for two hours (no Forbidden Journey though).

Glad your next day was back to sunny.

Hi Kathleen! How are you?

We did have a good time as always, just wasn't the ideal weather for a couple of those days. But we managed!

We've always been ones to get up early for rope drop. It's hard to stop now because it's so easy to get a lot done. I can't imagine doing it any other way now. My dad trained us well. haha

It's always fun meeting the characters. Whenever I see a new one I feel like I have to stop and get a picture. As I said, I'm especially glad we waited for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider now that Flynn's gone. :(

If you ever get the chance to go during the F&GF, you should! Epcot always looks amazing and since it's spring the weather is usually pretty nice.

Thanks! The lions were definitely a highlight of this trip!

I did see the story about WWOHP being open for the people who went to the midnight show. That sort of stinks about FJ though since that's the headliner! Still pretty cool though.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the resort. I'm looking forward to spending more time at the resorts and maybe doing a few activities around it on our no-park trip to AKL next month.

It was nice spending some time at the resort. Wish we could've been in a park but oh well.

Turtle Talk with Crush always sounds so hilarious, I can't believe I skipped that on our Epcot day!:headache:

The make your own cookie sounded like a lot of fun! You two definitely missed out on some more awesome rain the rest of that afternoon. I agree it would be a blast to be a recreational CM. You may have already mentioned this, but does your sister know what role she will be doing for her CP? I love hearing what roles people get!

Survivor is awesome:thumbsup2 I've been watching it since I was in first grade. lol And yes Friday was so beautiful and sunny!!! Can't wait to hear about it.

You should do Turtle Talk next time you go. There's usually not too much of a wait and it's worth going just to hear what the kids have to say. haha

haha, I know right? There were a lot of people just bumming around the resort. I think everyone had had enough of the rain! You could definitely tell Friday that people were out enjoying the sunshine.

I've been watching Survivor since season 2 (The Australian Outback!) which is probably my favorite season ever.

The cookie decorating sounds like so much fun! It amazes me all the activities the resorts offer even with 4 theme parks to keep us busy. Glad to hear the weather was going to improve!

Yes, the last day was a drastic improvement over the rain!

I love the Seas with Nemo, but once we do the ride, I'm always ready to run out of there and do something else, and DH wants to hang out and look at all the fish! I like the manatees, but I have no patience for much else! He could spend a whole afternoon in there! :rotfl:

Even if it weren't for the rain I would've wanted to look around. I love all the animals! But Emma is kind of like you-she's ready to move on!

It seems like all the resorts have a lot of fun activities. This was just the first time we ever participated in any of them!

I was hoping that you would be making the trip down with your sister and then we could all meet up...well if anything changes let me know!!

Yeah, that would've been fun to have a DIS meet. My dad has asked me a couple times but it's right before school starts so I don't think I'll be going then. :(

Glad you made the most out of your rainy day! I have to start looking into activities the resorts have, I've been missing out!

You know I'm a big Survivor fan. The first Survivor episode I saw was the season 1 finale. I've been hooked ever since :)

That is funny because that's the first episode I watched too! I definitely remember that crazy speech Susan made. I know we later saw the whole season-it must've been on some random game show channel that we were able to watch it. But Season 2 is when we really started watching!

Oh, I LOOOOVVVEEE the Seas Pavilion! I could just walk around through the aquarium forever and the ride is cute too. I haven't done Turtle Talk with Crush yet... maybe I'll check it out sometime (: And yeah, that Sea Turtle is HUUUGGEE! I'm pretty sure you're right about it being the biggest one ever.

I still can't believe how Soarin' was still a short wait. That just boggles my mind. I know you were in the FP lane, but still, that can be a LOOONNNGG wait. Nice to get to ride it twice in one day :goodvibes

Oh, being in the Community Hall sounds like a lot of fun. Your cookie looks very nice! (I can see why it's called the Bomb-Diggity) And wow, those pictures do look old ::yes:: Glad to see it all turned out to be a nice day even though it wasn't actually a beautiful day, weather-wise. (Survivor, Great show :thumbsup2)

Can't wait to read about another sunny day in the parks! :mickeyjum

Even tho it rained, it still seemed like you enjoyed your relaxing day!

If you like the Seas then you should really try to do Turtle Talk sometime. It's pretty entertaining.

Yeah, I don't think we've ever done Soarin without using fastpasses or going first thing in the morning. Though I do think it would be fun to do the standby sometime to see the games they have in the queue.

Some of those old pictures were pretty hilarious, especially seeing some of the clothes people were wearing. :rotfl:

Even tho it rained, it still seemed like you enjoyed your relaxing day!

Yup, we tried to make the most of the rain and I think we did pretty well.

Friday, April 1, 2011

Well, here we are...our last full day in Disney World. :sad2: I have mixed emotions about starting this day. It's sad because...well, everyone knows how last days can be and I hate how it means my TR is almost over (even if it's taken me 5 months to do so). BUT, I'm also excited because as I mentioned, the weather finally decided to turn around. So now more depressing rain pictures! :thumbsup2

Our plan for the morning was to go over to Hollywood Studios since it was one of the parks we didn't really get to enjoy in the sunshine. It was easy to get going that morning because we couldn't wait to get outside! There were a few other people on the bus but soon we were on our way to DHS. On the way, we enjoyed listening to Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter (hmm...wrong park, but still always nice to hear that song!). We of course had to send Emma a text telling her that we were listening to Harry Potter.

Before long we arrived at the park.

Not the best entrance picture but WHO CARES, the sky is BLUE AND NOT A CLOUD IN SIGHT! Awesome. So even though it was our last day it was hard to not be in a good mood. Amazing what a little sunshine can do.

As we waited in line we heard the audio informing guests about auditioning for the American Idol Experience for the day. Then we were let onto Hollywood Boulevard. You could tell the park was much busier-I think everyone was ready to enjoy the gorgeous weather!

The thing about the bad weather is that it made for some good stories. While we were waiting we started talking to another family (mostly because I noticed the father had a Marquette shirt on, my alma mater!) and we shared our lovely rainy day experiences.

Another Sorcerer Hat shot with clear blue sky. :)

After the opening show, we followed the masses to Toy Story Mania (what else?). Again, we bypassed the fastpass line and decided to go straight in. I don't think it took more than 10-15 minutes. As usual, we enjoyed the ride. Definitely one worth doing multiple times on a trip. One of these days I should bust out our Toy Story Mania Wii game again...

Since I didn't have to worry about hiding my camera from the rain, I was determined to take more pictures for our last day. I spotted this sign for African Cats on one of the buildings. You know how much Dad and I enjoyed this movie!

And more proof that the park was going to be busy...check out the line for Toy Story Mania. It's always hard to tell if it's the fastpass or standby line because they always get jumbled together but still. Crazy!

In keeping with our typical DHS morning tour plan, we backtracked to Sunset Boulevard to do Tower of Terror and Rock 'n Roller Coaster again.

I've always wanted to get a picture of the alleyway because the detailing is amazing but it's also pretty hard because it's so dark (and I don't know how to operate my camera in the dark, LOL). So after a couple attempts this is what I ended up with. I like the dude with his arms up in the air. According to my sister he was trying to get in the picture. haha

Since we did single riders again, we didn't have to wait too long before we were zipping through the Downtown LA. Great ride. Would you believe I used to be terrified of it? Boy have things changed.

Once we were done with those two rides we were able to slow down and take in the rest of the park. Walking back down Sunset, I decided I had to check out the little pin stand to see if they had my Rapunzel pin that I had been searching high and low for all week. The CM had literally just opened the place up and I started searching. I was not really expecting to find it since multiple CMs had told me it was a popular design but on one of the racks I spotted that long golden hair and purple dress. Turns out they actually had a bunch of them. There was no way I was going to miss out on it again (especially being our last day) so I immediately purchased it. I was so excited I even told the CM how I had been searching all week for it. I don't think she really cared. Whatever, atleast I was happy!

As we continued on our way, I stopped to get a picture by the new DHS sign. All smiles today!

So what else did we do on our last day? Stay tuned for more...popcorn::

Awesome update- I looooove RNRC! Riding in the single rider line is always a good move, except when people don't realize (or pretend to not realize) that it's the single rider line and make a fuss. Can't wait to hear what else you do on your last day!

Awww... the last day is always very depressing, even in TR form :sad2: At least, it was all sun and smiles this day for ya :thumbsup2

It looks like the crowd is definitely different from those cold and rainy days. I can't believe how long the wait for TSM after you got off. this must've been the pick-up day after all the storms. It's good that you got done what you could on that rainy day. ::yes::

Oh, the alleyway for RnRC looks so cool! I haven't been on it (total wimping out) and so I've never seen that before. It seems you are zipping through these rides. Another one of the perks of Rope Drop. I got to make sure to make as many of them as I can on my next trip (:

That's awesome you finally got the Rapunzel pin. It looks really nice. I think I need some Tangled pins for my lanyards. Maybe, that will be my pin trading goal for my next trip, well... after villains hehehehehe

Can't wait to read more about your last day ( :'( )! :mickeyjum

Now that looks like a fine Disney day! As much as I love TOT, I hate that first drop feeling:sick:
RNR is awesome, but again I need a mintue to gather myself afterwards!:worship:

I agree with your TSM plan, ride first then get a FP. It what we did =4 rides in 2 days!

Can't wait to see what's next, it's a beautiful day for anything!

Looks like a beautiful day!

I used to be afraid of RnRC too, but once I finally rode it I was hooked - it's such a great ride!

I hate the last day too, but at least the weather was gorgeous that day!! I know what you mean about the crowds being worse though, MK was packed that day.

Love your RNRC pics. I tried to get a pic of the alley too, but yeah I have no idea how to work my camera in the dark either!

And that's awesome you finally found your Rapunzel pin! :thumbsup2

You're so right about the end of a trip being sad for two reasons. At least for us DIS folk it is.

I'm glad that the weather was good for you that day and that you were able to find the Rapunzel pin that you were looking for. I love her.

What a gorgeous blue sky! Glad to see it didn't rain your entire trip.

I've always wanted to try Sum of All Thrills, but the line has been too long so far. Maybe next time.

The No Bake cookie decorating sounds like fun. It's nice that they were trying to make a rainy day less boring.

I'm so glad it was sunny on your last day. A last day is sad enough without being rainy, too. I love how blue the sky looks in the pictures.

Hi Sara! :) Hope you had a good trip. RNRC is a great ride!

Yeah, I'm sure there were a lot of people who probably just stayed in on Thursday and were ready to be outside for a change. Atleast we did everything we wanted to do earlier in the week.

You should try RNRC. Or atleast go inside, see the queue, and then wimp out. ;) But really, it's not that bad. It also helps that it's in the dark. I don't usually like the upside down/loops outside (though now that I've done RNRC I'm more willing to try those types of rides).

I love my Rapunzel pin and am so glad I managed to find it.

Hurray for blue skies! It looked like a BEAUTIFUL day!

It was absolutely perfect, other than the fact we had to go home the next day.

Now that looks like a fine Disney day! As much as I love TOT, I hate that first drop feeling:sick:
RNR is awesome, but again I need a mintue to gather myself afterwards!:worship:

It sure was! I hear ya on needing to gather yourself. The first time I did RNRC was right after I did TOT (also for the first time). And for a thrill ride wimp like me that was enough. I felt like I had jello legs! Atleast now I love them both.

More to come soon...

Looks like a beautiful day!

I used to be afraid of RnRC too, but once I finally rode it I was hooked - it's such a great ride!

It was definitely a beautiful Florida day. :goodvibes

It took me a couple times to finally warm up to it but now it's always a must-do!

I hate the last day too, but at least the weather was gorgeous that day!! I know what you mean about the crowds being worse though, MK was packed that day.

Love your RNRC pics. I tried to get a pic of the alley too, but yeah I have no idea how to work my camera in the dark either!

We went to Epcot in the afternoon and it was pretty busy there too. But we sure didn't mind-it was just nice to be outside and not have to worry about getting soaked.

I really should try to read the manual for my camera and see if I can figure out how to adjust it for darker places. Hmm...

You're so right about the end of a trip being sad for two reasons. At least for us DIS folk it is.

I'm glad that the weather was good for you that day and that you were able to find the Rapunzel pin that you were looking for. I love her.

The good news is I might be able to atleast start another PTR soon...popcorn::

I was so glad to find my pin. I love Rapunzel too!

What a gorgeous blue sky! Glad to see it didn't rain your entire trip.

Yeah, we had enough rain those two days.

I've always wanted to try Sum of All Thrills, but the line has been too long so far. Maybe next time.

I'm so glad it was sunny on your last day. A last day is sad enough without being rainy, too. I love how blue the sky looks in the pictures.

Yeah, it was easier waiting in line when the weather was crummy!

The no-bake cookie was fun and the kids really seemed to enjoy it.

ME TOO! I don't think I would've been able to take it if it was rainy on our last day. So glad the sun was shining!

Looks like a fun day!! I was at DHS on Tuesday :) Is your sister starting to pack yet?!

She hasn't started packing yet but I was reading her CP blog and it sounds like she's starting to think about it. haha
