That spot to propose

I am going to propose to my GF this year at Disney and was planning on doing it during one of our days when we were not going to be at the parks. Grand Floridian? Contemporary? Polynesian? I was thinking that we could have a nice day and enjoy the monorail tour, take in some good food and such and I would propose to her during the course of that.

Not interested in doing it at night or during a fireworks show.

Ideas and locations please?

Do you have any inkling if she wants the moment to be public or private? (Or do you, for that matter?) Some people want their engagement to be a private moment between the two of them and some people like a more public statement.

If you like the idea of a castle view, the marinas at the Grand Floridian or the beach at the Poly would be great locations. I am almost positive I've read about a secret little balcony at the Contemporary where there's a great castle view (and where brides/grooms often take photos) but I haven't been there myself so I can't confirm.

Hope it helps and have fun planning your surprise!! :)

Can anyone else confirm the balcony? I have seen some photos like this but have no clue where they were taken.

I do not think that she "wants" either a public or a private one in particular. I like the idea of the one in front of the castle because there would be CM photographers there to get a photo of the moment. But I can also see some people walking right through the photo or running over my foot with a stroller/rascal scooter.

I have not seen a "spot" at any of the resorts on the monorail line that would be great spots for doing such a thing. Is there a better resort then those 3?

On the 4th floor of the Contemporary, at the back of the Grand Concourse, is an exit with a bridge to Bay Lake Tower. That balcony is usually the one people are talking about. There's also one on top of Bay Lake Tower, but I believe you have to have a BLT room key for the elevator to take you there.

Well... I'll tell you what I am planning to do, but you can do it at a resort too. I'm going to have our caricature done and in the drawing it will ask her to marry me. You have to set it up ahead of time, about a month (they should provide an artist who does this type of thing). They have one in Wilderness Lodge and if you are outdoorsy type people she should love something like that. Plus you get to keep the drawing as a memory of the moment. You could even do it before a dinner and eat at Artist Point (which I love, the mushroom soup is to die for). Good luck and let us all know how it turns out.
