That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

Loving this trip report, great pics and funny too and I'm getting real hungry looking at the cake cups and pork shank - Om nom nom

Well done on the 5k I'm training myself and almost there now in the UK , also digging the eyeshadow styles.

I'm in the middle of getting caught up but I had to tell you that I'm sitting here on my lunch at work, eating chocolate chip cookies and I started reading about your running and training. I immediately felt guilty for eating them. You're an excellent motivator and I bet you don't even know it! Too bad if eaten them already or I would've tossed them!

I hate it when work is busy and I can't keep up on TR's...so I was WAY behind.

I'm with you on the OVER Midwestern winter. Is it too much to ask for a week above 40? That's not a hard task in March.. :beach:

I love your shirts/leggings. I actually looked them up at Hot Topic and may have to snag a shirt for our next trip!

Congrats on the Galactic Hero! I did that our last trip when I was alone in the car AND I took a picture and hubby still doesn't (joking) believe me....

Your dad is so awesome. He makes the BEST face.

I could have sworn I responded to this. :confused3

Yes, I know exactly how you feel about this weather. It is so depressing and just wears you out. It's going to be warm on Friday and then back in the high 30's next week with a chance of snow one of those days. Seriously, can we just move on to Spring now? I finally did updates on my TR...and it took all I had because I'm just so tired all of the time.

Congrats on your first 5K. I LOVE your Kermit hat...so cute.

And I love your leggings...those are just so cute. And great job on the make-up.

I love getting a picture of that Mickey as you walk from the parking lot to the TTC.

Love your dad's poses in the pictures with your mom. And great shot on SM!

Thanks! It was good to get a 5k out of the way for the season. I did several last year, and I didn't like getting out of the habit because it was cold, but I also am not a fan of running outside in the freezing cold!

Those leggings are a pair of my favorites!

Thanks! Man, that cake cup is incredible!

Good luck on training! I'm so ready for this weather to be over, because I want to be outside.

Awww, I guilted unintentionally! :rotfl: I had no idea I would have that kind of motivation. LOL.

subbing, this is an awesome trip report!

:welcome:

I'm glad you're here!

I've felt like that the last few weeks. Work has been insane.

I definitely do not think it's too much to ask for a week above 40! I'm still unsure when we're going to get it honestly.

Definitely get something from Hot Topic. They seriously have the best stuff!

He still doesn't believe you even though you have photographic evidence? What else does he need?! :lmao:

Day 4 - Monday January 20, 2014 Continued.

"Watch Out For Your Toesies!"

We had just completed our ride around Tomorrowland on the Peoplemover. It moved us very effectively. We were approaching our FP+ time for BOG. I was super excited about this! We had dinner there in July. I liked it, but I think it's dinner is lacking a bit. But I'd heard raves about lunch, so I was excited to get a FP+ for this trip.

I had to take a potty break before we headed over, so I stopped by Mickey's Star Traders. And lo and behold, who do I spot?

No no, not a random trash can. It was Push!

I didn't realize at that point that this was the last time I would be seeing Push, but I'm glad I got the chance.

He was so funny though! He just kept messing with the kids in the area, and then it was time for him to head back in. As he was heading backstage, the kids kept running by him asking him to come back. Well, some of the kids got to close, to which Push said:

"Whoops!! Watch out for your toesies!!!!"

Okay, I'm easily amused, but this cracked me up beyond belief. I think it was my Disney high, coupled with the fact that he said it in his high pitched Push voice. It was awesome. I still chuckle to myself when I think about it.

ANYWHOOOOOOOO.

We moved on at that point and started to walk towards Fantasyland for our lunch at BOG. Well, on the way. I saw some movement. Movement of what you ask?

It's a bird......it's a plane.....IT'S THE MINE TRAIN ON A TEST RUN!!!!

Let's just say, many of the other guests thought that I was a weirdo when I started doing this in the midway.

We got to BOG and went to the podium in the front. The CM's there were awesome. The girl tapped the guy up there and went "ppppssssssttttt.....she's a galactic hero!" I laughed, and she told me that she's been trying, but it hasn't happened yet. I told her that it takes persistence. LOL.

Here is a minor complaint about BOG. I think they should mark FP+ better, because it totally looks like you're just blowing past everyone, like "tra la la, I'm better than you!" The line was pretty long, past the end point on the bridge, and we just traipsed right in. I mean, I'm not complaining about walking by everyone. But I still felt kinda bad. For like 2 seconds.

We headed in to our side of the line for the restaurant. All in all, we waited about 5 to 10 minutes? Much better than the more than 30 I'm sure everyone else was waiting.

Here was the beautiful electronic menu. Not that I needed it, because I already knew what I was going to eat.

Now, I was expecting to get a rose with the RFID chip in it, but I guess now that they rolled out the MB's to most people, you don't get a rose if you have a MB. Okay, I guess I can deal with that.

This was the group of people in the area where you order for lunch. During the evening, this is the meet and greet area for the Beast.

Little details while I waited for our kiosk to open up.

Finally we all ordered and headed inside. I wanted to sit in the West Wing, because we had sat in the Ballroom for our first dinner there. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be and the West Wing was full. So, Ballroom it is!

Love it!

Mom and I took our seats while Dad went to grab silverware for everyone. In no time, our food came. Dad and I got:

Braised pork with mashed potatoes and veggies.

Mom got:

Croque Monsieur with pomme frites.

For dessert, Mom, Yeti, and I got:

The Master's Cupcake. A chocolate cupcake with grey stuff on top.

Our thoughts?

Lunch was hands down significantly better than dinner. The braised pork was so moist and tender. Just fell apart when you pulled it apart with your fork. The veggies were crisp and not at all overdone. Mom enjoyed her Croque Monsieur. We did comment that we wish it was a little more of an accurate croque monsieur, Just so everyone understands what they look like in Europe (France and Belgium) in my experience:

Main difference is that there is typically cheese baked on the outside as well. That's what makes it a croque monsieur to me. Otherwise you can just call it a toasted sandwich. Now, it didn't take away from the flavor of the sandwich at all. Just a minor comment on my part.

The fries were incredible. I know because I ate some of my Mom's fries. LOL.

Overall rating: 5/5

Would we return: Absolutely! It was so good. I highly recommend this for lunch.

Dad kept raving about the food, which definitely meant that it went over well for us. Tummies full, we headed back out into the park. But not before I got a picture of this dour guy.

He just seemed to sad.......

Watch Out For Your Toesies! - Part 2

Continued from prior post:

After lunch, our FP+ for Thunder Mountain was approaching. Yes, I know it was very close to having eaten, but I mean, it's not really a roller coaster. It's a baby coaster. ;)

On the way over, I couldn't resist getting some lovely Frontierland shots.

Finally, we arrived at our destination, and it was time for us to get right on!

We waited maybe 5 minutes total in the FP+ line, so no complaints from us there.

See where I get my genes from? Y'all think it's from my Dad. Nope....they're both crazy.

This is my Dad when he gets on rides. He has to point out exactly what's going on. Like in this instance, we were about to go down a hill. Hence the reason why he's pointing downward.

I wanted to take a picture of my Mom and I. See, because she cracks up hysterically on rides. However, I didn't center this one, due to us bouncing around. But can I point out the awesomeness that is the slight amount of her face that's visible? Man....if I had gotten her whole face.....

Laughing.

Oh, it gets better.

Welcome to our family. We are accepting applications if you'd like to join. :thumbsup2

After we got off the ride, we had another priceless family conversation that just proves that people would love to be part of our family. My Mom and Uncle just sold my Grandma's house (she passed away in January of 2013). The house was completely paid off, so everything they got was profit, in addition to splitting some of her investments. So we had a conversation about some of the stuff they wanted to do with some of the money. Roof. Windows. You know, the basics. So Dad mentions how much he wants to save.

Me: What, so you'll have like a slush fund?

Dad: Yes.

Mom: Where will you keep that slush fund?

Me: In his pants.

You would have thought that I said the funniest thing ever, because we got snorting level cracking up from her. I don't know if she envisioned, like, a slushy in his pants? Not entirely sure. Again, welcome to my family.

We had a bit of time before our next FP+ window, so what to do, what to do?

Just the bet show ever!

The Country Bears are polarizing. However, I LOVE THEM!!!

Yeti does too!

My personal favorites?

This guy.

Just because he looks like a derp.

Trixie. Because she's just.......Trixie.

And the whole reason to see the Country Bears? Big Al!!!!

I mean come on! Where else can you hear songs like "Momma don't whup little Buford", and "Blood on the Saddle"? No where I tell you!

We had a particularly good group this time, because all of the adults were cracking up the entire time. Love it!

Up next: The Foo's Boo!!!!!

Today must be updating Monday on the DIS boards! :cool1:

So - yes - you and your mom have identical eyes. Pretty cool.

Hey - you might not have gotten a good shot on your mom on BTMMR but you got a good one of the photobomber kid in the seat behind you! :rotfl:

Lunch did look great. Glad you got a lunch FP. I really DO want to go there for lunch. Can't wait.

I'd be super excited too if I saw the Mine Training running. Very cool. I mean, you know, once it opens you are never going to see it empty again! :thumbsup2

I have never seen Push and that makes me so sad. No even once. boo!

Glad you liked bog lunch better! I think i prefer dinner, but i havent used the fp option at all yet!!

I feel like that sandwich originally had cheese all around the outside and thats why i didn't order it? lol who knows?!

great shots on the rides!!

I am so filling out an application. :rotfl: You are so blessed to have the family you have.
Your mom and I do the same thing, I laugh-scream hysterically the whole time I'm on a rollercoaster, I think my kids think I'm just as entertaining as the roller coaster. :rotfl2: They always get off the ride laughing at me.

I'm so glad you got to try BOG for lunch, it is sooooo much better than the dinner. I'm about to report on our dinner there and it's not going to be good, service was outstanding, but food.....:crazy2:

I love how much you and your family get along, it's really refreshing to see. Especially when you look at my extended family. :rotfl: :scared:
This is why I think of my friends as my family, if you don't have a good family, then make one! :thumbsup2

The Mine Train opening is so exciting and to see it come into action like you did, it's historic!! Think about it....a bunch of us Disers can look back and say I remember when they were building such and such and to know our kids, kids, kids, will ride these attractions for years and years to come really puts things into perspective. :lovestruc

MEK, I never saw PUSH either, not even once. :sad2:

Yay... An update!! I'm loving this TR!! Country bears is one of my favorites too... Just slightly behind HM! Love big al!

I'm very impressed you can take selfies on a roller coaster... I have enough trouble on land!

Still debating whether we'll keep our BOG dinner ressies or not...menu doesn't really grab me for lunch or dinner so maybe we'll just do lunch and have a nice dinner elsewhere...

ANYWHOOO......yes, my family all says this too!!

Keep the report coming please!!!

That's cool that you ran across PUSH. I never did see him. :sad2:

That is awesome that you saw the Mine Train doing a test run! :cool1: So excited for that ride!

Ha, that is an odd feeling in the BOG FP line, just strolling on by everyone. Kinda fun, though. Knowing they probably are wondering how you got to be so special. :rotfl:

Glad you had a great lunch at BOG. We enjoyed it too.

And yay for a ride on Big Thunder. Nice pictures!

Jumping in on these shenanigans a bit late (and all caught up)! :mickeyjum But better late than never.

I've really missed your TRs. You and your family just crack me up. And I was really sad to hear when you said "the last time I would see PUSH". I never knew they got rid of him. I was hoping to try and meet him on my next trip. Boo. Oh well.

Love the photos of your mom on BTMRR! I feel like my mom makes the exact same faces on roller coasters lol And I'm so happy to know once again that I'm not alone in the Country Bears Lovin' Club. Literally, best show ever. :goodvibes

Awwww PUSH!!!!!! I'm sure so many people never had the pleasure of seeing this living legend and now he's gone. Which makes me so sad.

Oh Dani, that's not weird at al. I totally would have broken out the Carlton. I do it now for much much less.

Yeah, not gonna lie. I had no issue walking by everyone with my FP+. I figure they all could have gotten one if they tried, so guilt free me.

I haven't done BoG for Dinner, but honestly, the only reason I can see doing it for me is to meet Beast. Other than that, I'm sure I'd prefer lunch which I thought was fab-u-lous.

Your Frontierland shots remind me that no matter how many times I've walked around MK, every trip I see something from a different angle and it just feels brand new.

The BTMM FP+ return didn't look too chaotic in your photo. Maybe they've finally figured out a fix.

Yup, just let us know where to send the applications. Mine's all filled out.

COUNTRY BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can people possibly not adore this?

Oh, PUSH! I'll miss that little trash can. He was just such a special little touch to MK.
Um yeah, sometimes I break out the Carlton when a song gets in my head so... No judgement for using it on seeing the mine train going!
Mmm I love BOG, we had two great meals there. Glad you all enjoyed yours!
LOVE the BTMRR on ride pics!
If I didn't love my own family so much, I'd apply to join yours. :rotfl:

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I haven't eaten dinner at BOG, but I agree with you, the lunches are really good. Those fries....:goodvibes

Progress on the Mine Train! If they're running the cars (several months ago, at that) then the opening can't be too terribly far away. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll at least have a soft opening by our May trips. :thumbsup2

I think you can tell from the pictures you did manage to take on Thunder that your mom was having a good time. The smile was evident! :rotfl:

Okay, I finally got a couple updates done to my TR and got responses done, so I'm catching up everywhere else again.

I am SO upset about PUSH. Disney is just taking away too many of our fondest memories. :(

I am so glad you enjoyed lunch at BOG. Mark and I are going to FP+ it for our September trip.

I can't wait to do the Mine Ride in May/June.

My application to join your family is in the mail.

The pictures of your dad and mom on Big Thunder have me :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Mark and I really enjoy Country Bears...where else can you laugh at dumb songs?

PUSH :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc so sad he's gone now.

MY CASTLE! I miss it so much.

That's really interesting about the croque monsieur! It's my go-to at BOG but the legitimate one looks even better. And the grey stuff cupcake is amazing!

Hahaha I will gladly apply to be part of your family. If there's an essay portion I'll rock it.
