OMG I'm so jealous you're doing the 24 hour party!!! I was actually just pricing flights to see if there was a way I could do a little 4 day weekend trip that weekend, but...flights are like $750 for the 2 of us and no way am I paying that much. So oh well...maybe next year!

I love those people who do the water drawings! I need to spend more time talking to CM's...well, the pleasant ones anyway, not the ones who hate working at Disney.

OMG talking Mickey! I have to meet him on my next trip, I'm so afraid of the face characters because I don't know what to say to them, but talking Mickey is just so cool!

Yup, he definitely talks now. And to my understanding they'll use the Magic Bands for him to be able to say your name and stuff. Pretty awesome.

Buttercream is heavenly. It's just so good. I could eat it by the spoonful too, I just figure it's more acceptable to have a touch of cake with it.

The MK days just worked out with timing and touring plans. But it is my favorite park.

It was a little strange to see Talking Mickey at first. But it's pretty cute, so I got over it pretty quickly.

That Gaston hat is awesome. It's so fun! I like having him try on hats, because he is unpredictable and can make goobery faces at any moment. Haha!

Hi guys!

Things at work have been pretty busy, and I have to admit, I've been uninspired to do much when I get home from work. I'm not gonna lie, this Chicagoland winter has really been getting to me. I'm hopeful at this point we see some light at the end cold tunnel. It truly has been Chiberia, as they've been saying on the news. We've had more than twice the snow we normally get. It's the third worst Chicago winter in recorded history.

Kathy knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

I've been frustrated, because I've been stuck inside. And I'm an outdoor runner. It's been really hard. I am registering for the Princess 1/2 Marathon for February 2015. I have to register in July. This summer is going to be an intense training summer for me. My goal is to get up to running 10 miles by the end of the summer, and then running 13 miles by the end of the fall. This means:

Mondays - Minimum 3 mile run.
Wednesdays - Weight training (legs / arms / abs).
Thursdays - Minimum 3 mile run.
Fridays - Weight training (legs / arms / abs).
Saturday - Long run. Mile increase per week as able.

I'm so ready. Because the simple reality is, the lighter you are, the better you run. My eating plan is fine. I have not gained any weight at all. But this training program should help me to lose the additional weight I need to, so I can be the most efficient jogger / runner that I can be.

I had my first official 5k of the season on Saturday, with my friend Heather. I didn't have huge expectations, because the treadmill and I don't get along so well when it comes to running. I'm not kidding, my brain shuts off and I struggle. However, I still managed the jog the entire 5k. I didn't get a PR. My time was pretty slow, but that's okay. The first is always the hardest. It's all uphill from here.

I even wore my Kermit hat! It was pretty cold, about 40 degrees. Yes friends. You are seeing something that is a rarity for me. I don't have any makeup on. Please, don't be scared.



And our beautiful city, by the lake, with the many runners around us.



We had tons of fun. There was even beer when we crossed the finish line. Um, yes please!

Just a question. Would anyone be interested in following me on a training PTR for the Princess 1/2 marathon? I've been thinking about doing it, so let me know your thoughts. You can be with me during my progress.

Day 4 - Monday January 20, 2014

"She Has Ariel on Her Legs!!!"

Okay, first and foremost, I forgot to show you guys my pin trade from the day prior. We were trying our hand at pin trading this trip. We weren't great at it, but we did it and I liked it a lot.



We woke up pretty early and had breakfast in the room again. I really do like not having to worry about finding a place to eat breakfast every morning. Makes things much easier for me honestly.

While Mom and I were getting ready, Pop ran down to the Artist Palette to get us all coffee. He's such a good Poppy. He really is. He will run out and get us stuff all of the time. He's even like that at home too. He'll run out, get dinner, you ask, he delivers. Okay, enough gushing about my Pop.

I was happy to be wearing my TOTALLY AWESOME ARIEL LEGGINGS!



Now, I had plenty of other Disney leggings to wear. But I'm gonna be honest, the weather started getting colder, and I never got the opportunity to wear the rest of them. But they will be coming with me in May.

My makeup look today was inspired by Peter Pan, complete with red eyeliner for the feather in his hat.



It was nice and bright this morning in the car.



And wouldn't you know it. Where were we in the row we were assigned. Yup.....all the way at the end. I guess I need to accept my lot in life. But we walked it, because I am pro walking and anti tram whenever you are not dead on your feet.

But walking gave me the opportunity to take this picture.



Never thought a walk through the parking lot could be so fun, did ya?



We opted to take the ferry on this fine morning, instead of the monorail. I love the ferry early in the morning, because it's so much less claustrophobic than the monorail.





While we were waiting to board the monorail, my leggings were the subject of much discussion with other guests. I got many compliments on them, but the best was this little girl, about 3 years old, sitting in her stroller. She yells to her Mom:

MOMMY! SHE'S GOT ARIEL ON HER LEGS!!!!

It was adorable, and cute, and truthfully, made wearing the leggings worth it. I don't care what other people think. Adults tend to be the weirdest, because I guarantee you, they look at me and think I'm too old for it. Nope...I'm not too old for it. You just have an old fart mind.

Another pair of ladies from Argentina on the ferry came up to me and told me they were in love with my leggings. I was a HUGE hit with people from other countries.

Soon we were on our way!



Okay, randomly, can I comment that I miss Discovery Island? I do. I really miss it. We used to go when I was little, and we loved it over there. I really wish they didn't get rid of it. Now I feel like it's just sitting there, useless.....

Sad.

We docked soon and were off the ferry heading into the park. We had FP's for Space Mountain.

I will say that what I have learned from FP+ is that I will likely use them later in the day or in the evening rather than the morning. Because you can still get on rides early in the morning without them. And we go early and take a midday break every day, so it's perfect for our family's touring style.



See? Not too crowded yet.



We headed to our destination and were ready to go!



Yeti was all ready too.



We had about a 5 minute wait with the FP's, so not too bad.

You can see in the below picture that Mom had been laughing. I think it's because my Dad was doing something ridiculous, based on the evidence in his picture. Eating flies? I don't know.



That's a bit better.



Innocent picture and then BAM! Photobombed by a Popadon. Can't take him anywhere.



Mom is hilarious on this ride. I want to film her, but obviously it wouldn't come out. Let's just say she laughs hysterically the entire time, while screaming. It's a unique and funny experience.

Although she doesn't look too excited in the PP picture, trust me, she loves this ride. Yeti and I figured this was a good time to take a brief snooze.

15 minute wait time, so of course we were going!

I put on my game face. This is serious business people.



I asked Mom for her game face.



I'm going to say that's less game face and more "I'm going to punch you in YOUR face..." Just saying.

While we were waiting in line, Yeti appeared to be in a photobombing mood. That little guy.......





Mom and I rode together. My goal was clear. I was going to get another Galactic Hero button. I needed one from 2013 and 2014. And then....the amazing happened. In the volcano room....THE VOLCANO ROOM......this happened.



Word up!

IN......YOUR......FAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!



Then, since I had the rest of the ride to go through.....well....it's just a testament to the fact that you really shouldn't give me a camera when I'm bored.





Mom didn't do quite as well this time around. Now, I remember the targets I hit. Mom sadly, did not remember the targets she hit the last time she was a Galactic Hero.



I clearly had time on my hands.



Pop was quasi focused.



They gave me a ceremony when we had the pictures scanned to our PP. I got my button and they did a huge announcement that there was a galactic hero in their midst.

Yeah, no one really cheered for me.



No worries! Awkward silences do not deter me!

We simply moved on to the Peoplemover. Where they move people.

I love being moved.

Mom and Pop love being moved too.



I had to get another picture of my awesome Ariel pants. I'm a goober.



So this picture....it's totally legit, I'm telling you. I was going to take a selfie, when the Peoplemover moved me around a corner. And subsequently scared me.



Apparently that's my suddenly scared face.

Yeti was also enjoying his ride on the Peoplemover. So I guess it doesn't just move people, it moves Yeti's too!

The Tangled bathrooms are across from where the old Peter Pan bathrooms were. Where the Skyway station used to be. You can see it from the Haunted Mansion too, and it's right around the corner.

Oh, the cake cups are so worth it!
