That Fantasy can't steal our Magic! March 30, 2012

This should make the rest of you feel great -- I just found out about this website, haven't packed a thing, am a first time DCL-er, and only today l learned what FE is (missed that boat...pun intended). Have cruised before with DH, but not with the Mouse. It'll be me, DH and DD (3 and a half, she says vehemently!). I'm in search of...
1. Similar aged-kids DD Mia might get along with. She's not the princess type. Mickey is her fave (if Pooh isn't around). She's a nice kid who likes nice kids. She'll have more fun in and out of the kids' club if she has a friend or two. Any around the board?
2. More info on how to put together an admittedly and unashamedly compulsive spreadsheet on onboard activities...where are they all listed? I'm willing to deviate from a schedule once I've made it, but I hate hate hate going on vacation and finding out on a Thursday that Wednesday night was the only time to do a particularly cool activity. So I'd be thrilled to get the rundown of possibilities in advance.

oh where are these places? I need to take my daughter - she adores Key lime

I am so ready to go

Kermit’s Key Lime Shop is at the corner of Elizabeth and Greene (200 Elizabeth St), not far from the pier.

Blue Heaven is at 729 Thomas Street, on a side street not too far from the Hemingway House.

I’ve also read there’s a stand in Mallory Square where they sell key lime pie on a stick, frozen and dipped with chocolate – that’s going to be our first stop! :woohoo:

For anyone who is just planning on walking around town on their own, somebody over on Cruise Critic put together a nifty website where you can pick what you want to see and it will create a custom map showing you how to get from place to place. http://www.keyweststeps.com

In exactly one week we'll be landing in Orlando!!:banana: (Perhaps I should start packing.....)

:welcome: The best way to learn about onboard activities is to look at some recent Navigators (the daily schedule they give you on board). Someone posted some for us a few weeks ago; let me try to find the link!

Hey PS17, were you the one staying at the Radisson pre cruise? I know someone on this cruise said they were staying there. I can't be the only one.

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed! I was trying to look for a good map online of Key West and this is better!

I've made more than one packing list so it must be getting close!!!

I was just getting ready to say the same that someone else did - check out the navigators from other Western cruises. Keep in mind ours is the only Friday-Friday so the days are off....

If you don't find a friend for Mia before you go, she will have tons of new BFFs after the first day!

Thank you all so much for the welcome and the link to the previous Navigator. However will I focus on work today with all these options to consider??? :cool1:

Welcome!!!! My dd is 5- so your dd will definitely have some others around her age. Brooke likes princesses but she is definitely not a girly girl. She loves Pooh and is excited about seeing Mickey and Pluto and all of those guys (as she says).
We went on a different cruise line last spring break and she didn't really like the kids clubs, so we will see how this goes.
She is a very social person after she meets you, but is initially shy and I think that is why she didn't do well with the kids clubs on the other line. She definitely needs that initial invite into whatever they are doing and then she is fine.
You should come to our meet and greet on Friday and we can introduce the girls :)

Who's leaving first? last?

We are leaving Friday 7:30AM, so we are probably last!

Our plane leaves Wed at 8pm-ish.
We are going to AKL @ WDW.
I thought it would be better to get in late and get up early.
That way the kids get a whole day at WDW on Thurs. instead of flying. :thumbsup2
