Thanx MIB999999

It's funny how so much of MIB9's original tips stick in my mind to this day. Could've never brought my score up without that original list of hints.

Yeah, they still stick out in my mind too!!!

Dogg...how do you know he used your guide, do you know him?

Third, you are talking about 6 pages of posts, not strategy guide. From your previous post you made it sound like he had 6 pages of tricks, etc.

Well, actually, he did write 6 pages of tips/hints...handbook. I just meant it wasn't 6 pages of posts...it's 6 posts that make up his handbook because each page is a different area. If you print them all out, it's 6 pages. Yours is 2, so my point was, stop calling yours "more detailed" cuz it's just not. That's all I'm saying. It's different and has a few pictures which DO help, but it's not more detailed.

About the gun not recognizing the exhaust port, did I or did I not mention in the beginning that the guide works except if you have a gun that fails. If you have a bad gun, obviously it won't pick things up. Common sense explains that.

The point I was trying to make to you was, since your guide is so comprehensive and the best guide on the internet (says you), then you might want to tell your readers what to hit if they can't get the hits on the exhaust port. You CAN still get 9's if the exhaust ports aren't registering, but your guide doesn't talk about any other targets other than the exhaust port. It's not that the gun doesn't work, and can't get you there, it's just that the exhaust ports aren't registering. I have come out of the scan and only had to pop a couple of 20K targets and it really doesn't matter if it's the exhaust port or green eyes. The eyes in the 2nd story window when you're on the right/inside track are gold and you can hit them probably a good 10 times as an alternate target, in fact, it's better than trying to hit the exhaust port, and THEN you can turn back and pop the EP a couple more times.
That's all. It happened alot the other day for us, sometimes the guns work fine throughout the ride, and just don't register those EP's. Your readers won't know what to do then. It was just a suggestion since you want to have the best guide. Many times you can either only hit it straight on, OR from the side, not both too. I understand the other targets might not be the best primary target, but it's a backup plan.

And finally. I came here to just promote my site. Get some people to start to look at it.

And that's great, but not everyone gives out advice and then goes around waving their arms around and plugging it every chance they get...and tell others how theirs is so much better. I know you probably don't mean to, but you come off as a little overbearing and conceited and you might try a little humility.

For the record, MIB9's hasn't been riding MIB for "like 12 years or something" and in fact, really didn't start riding on a regular basis until about 2 1/2 years ago, (and anyway, the ride didn't open till what, 2000?) he is very detail oriented and expresses himself well and put out a guide that still helps people score much better than they ever would have on their own. And I think it's rude of you to show up and act like you have the only real guide out there. He didn't ask for thanks or fanfare, but you seem to demand it...I think you should just turn it down a notch and realize, you've got a nice guide out there, and it's different from Kevin's and Chris' and you are all helping people out. They all offer their own something, and I think people should read all of them because they all give different advice and targets.
I don't think one is better than the other, just different.

If I am coming across that way, I am sorry, you know text is a lot different than talking. That is where a lot of people take me wrong on other threads. No I just wanted for people to check out the guide. I thought to myself, I can start a thread and try to promote it. Then I thought, hey this is at least some what related to MIB so I'll post it here. I am not trying to like throw it out there on every thread.

And about my being "so much better." It is like say you go to b & n and go to the strategy guide section. Prima might have a guide that says Super guide, best on the market, Premium with all the tips and tricks. Now another thing could be there for the same game and say Ultra Ultimate guide that is a must have. They all say are the best, but the reader has to decide that for himself. I am just doing that to make mine look appealing.

I understand your reasoning, but you aren't trying to sell it and if someone has clicked the link to your site, it's because they want to see your guide...you already have them. Maybe you might try saying something like "everything you need to know to get the top score on Men In Black" at the top, or something like that...just a thought.

I know if I see a place (whether it's a business or a guide or whatever, unless the "Best guide ever" is a quote from some newspaper or personality or whatever, I always make the comment under my breath "yeah, says who...THEM?" I think companies that call themselves the best whatever are obnoxious...let someone else call it the best, then I'll pay attention! :)

I understand you're excited about your site and you did a great job...I just think you come on a little strong is all. People that are even remotely interested in Men In Black on here probably read your early posts specifically on the topic...

Maybe you should think of a peppy name for your guide...and make it searchable...whatever that means! LOL

If I were to do that, then I would have to make a brand new guide just for that. I am basing this on a good gun. Most of them are, I see what you are saying. but if you have a bad gun to begin with, you have very low odds of even getting close to 999,999 right.

Wouldn't you just have to add in some text?

Anyway, MIB9's and I rode 3 times the other day and on 2 of my 3 runs, the exhaust port wouldn't register and on the other, it would only hit from the side (which is often the case). MIB9's had similar problems, but was at 9's anyway, so it didn't much matter. (we haven't ridden for ages, but he's like an elephant in that he forgets no details!) It isn't that the gun is bad, either because throughout the ride, I racked up big points, it's just that for some reason, very few hits on the exhaust port. Nothing like having 500,000 points or so and not being able to get those exhaust ports!

All of the targets in that area are for 20K points, so there are still plenty of points to be had. And when the other car is spinning because you hit it, you can pop those eyes about twice in the time it takes to spin.

There ARE other reasons you would want them too...sometimes the cars on the other track aren't timed right and you don't have a car to shoot at.

That's ok though, I just though you wanted to give people the best advice on the game, so I was trying to help.

Oh my God isn't that the worst. I hate that so much when there is no car to shoot. Not only can you not get points, but it ruins the game. It is so boring because you don't have anything to look at and you see a plain track. That is the worst. Ruins the game. That happens when they add cars onto the track. It ruins the cpu's memory. After 1 run, the cpu learns the new layout. Same happens on spiderman. Oh my on spiderman if that happens, that is the worst thing. The whole magic behind that is all revealed. It is the worst.

Actually, the worst would be if the aliens shot back (paintballs, water balloons, etc.).
I bet Creative people are working on that now.

Actually when there is no car to shoot at and i already have 9's i just admire all the detail that makes up this ride. I can ride it and leave the gun in the holster cause i just like the ride and seeing all there is to see. That was my big concern when i wrote the handbook. I love the ride first, and can max out a gun second. i was afraid the handbook would make it to easy to max out and that the ride would become boring for some. For me the ride, if the gun is working, or if it is not, is never boring. :smooth:
