My hubby and I got to Disney every year in September. We've also gone in February and May, but these are also low crowd months. This year our friend wants to plan a trip with us and his 10 year old son. We are trying to plan around his 2008-2009 breaks or inservice days, but the calendar is not out yet. We were thinking about going over Thanksgiving becuase he will have a week off of school. Can anyone that has gone this time of year please help me out? I'd like to know of crowd sizes and anything that could help us.

I'm interested in this too. We have arrived the Sat. after Thanksgiving twice and have had a wonderful week. We are thinking of going the week of this year due to two of our kids being in MS and me teaching full time. This way we will only miss 1 1/2 days of school instead of 4. However, we are worried about the crowds that week. Thoughts?

That is when we are looking at going as well. The information I have found says that Thanksgiving week is the 2nd busiest week of the year for WDW. Second only to Christmas week so yeah, busy. Busier than Spring Break or Summer. That said, we've been three times over Christmas week and had a fabulous time each trip. We've used TourGuideMiKE each trip and we've never stood in line more than 10-15 minutes for anything at all and we've always done everything we wanted to.

It will be crowded but if you are prepared for the crowds and you set your expectations accordingly you can still have a fantastic time!

bad bad bad ... Wal to wal people, but the temps are perfect:thumbsup2

We went this past Thanksgiving week (2007) and we had the most amazing trip (and this was our first time in 11 years).

We got there the Thursday evening, a week before Thanksgiving, and stayed until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Thanksgiving were definitely less crowded. But even with the crowds during the week, using TourguideMike's advice, we never stood in line more than 15 minutes for any ride, and we rode all the big things at least twice. The longest lines by far were for Character autographs, but we had a lot of character meals, so we just go them there. We did have to line up for Fantasmic (which ended up being all of our favorite) about 40 minutes early, so we sat and waited for that, but it wasn't a big deal.

I highly recommend this week, as long as you do your planning. Tourguide Mike was a life saver, I will never do another trip to Disney without his planning .

And the weather was perfect, it only rained for about 2 hours on one of the days we were there. But do take a jacket, it can be a little chilly in the morning and evenings.
