So sorry to hear that Lisa. I hope you are doing better and your poor arm heals quickly. :goodvibes

Well only 5 days to go until we are off sailing on the Magic. :cheer2: :cheer2: I am thinking of getting the internet package while on board. Has anyone done this? I need to email my DS while we are gone.

Mary-thanks for the good wishes!! Enjoy the Magic!! We always get the internet package on board--works great! :thumbsup2

Oh Lisa! OWWWWWW! I can't believe that people just went on about their business. What happened to common courtesy, and helping others? :sad2: Any ideas as to how long before you'll be able to use your arm again? I'm sure it's frustrating for you at times. Mason sounds as if he's enjoying showing how he can be a helper. Just keep thinking ahead to your Wonder Thanksgiving cruise.

Wish we were sailing with your family this Thanksgiving, but the airfare's too high right now.

Keep us posted on your progress. Sprinkling some pixie dust your way! pixiedust:

Priscilla-Thanks for the pixie dust!! The Dr. won't give me any predictions. He wants to "wait and see". Mason is being a great helper!! :thumbsup2

Lisa, you went to work after you broke your arm, THEN went to get it checked out AFTER the hearing? You are one tough gal! Are you sure your not from Texas? :rotfl2:

Tell Chuck that REAL MEN are not afraid to load and unload the dishwasher! That is what Kelli has been telling me, anyhow..... :rolleyes1

Anyhoo, I hope your arm is not too painful. Get well soon!
At least you can lift that Bahama Mama with your other hand.

Willie, I laughed out LOUD when I read that. :lmao: It's so true! Rob's parents were originally from Connecticut, and you should have seen his reaction the first time he attended a family reunion (my mother's side) in Tyler! Definitely, uh, strong women. (Vocally, and physically as well. Similar to the matriarch in the movie 'Giant', if you ever saw that.) I tell you, the 75 year-old woman who coordinated the reunion every year went home at the end of the day and pushed a lawnmower! (This was in June, 85 degree heat.) :sunny:

Lisa, I meant to ask, didn't you, Chuck and Mason go to NY recently? How was it? :)

Priscilla

I hired some guys from out of state to help me finish off all of my remaining damaged trees from Hurricane Rita a few weeks ago. While they were here, Kelli and I were working in the yard. Mowing, weeding flower beds, moving the flowere beds around, etc. When I was paying the guys, they were amazed that my wife would be out in the yard in 95 degree heat working her tail off right beside me.
I told that I still help in the kitchen and she still helps me in the yard. I got the better deal!

Willie

Willie and Priscilla-I guess we all have to be "strong" to live in the South--w/ the heat and the storms!! :sunny: :thumbsup2 I was raised by very strong parents--they rarely complained about anything. I try to learn from them!! Chuck actually helped my w/ the laundry and the dishes this past week!! Shhh...don't tell him I told you!!

We did visit NYC last month (luckily b/f the injury)!! It was wonderful!! We went to Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Empire State Building, Macys, etc...We also took Mason to his first B'way show-Tarzan (of course a disney show!!) He loved it!!! :thumbsup2 Thanks for asking!!

Lisa

Today I had a good luck day!! :cool1: As you know, we were booked on the 10 holiday cruise this year. Then, we learned that we could not get the time off from work so we had to cancel. We then rebooked for the Thanksgiving Magic. Since we booked so late we needed to book a cat 11 to save some $$$. Today, I stayed home from work to give my arm a rest. I went on the DCL website...one of the cat 10 secret porthole cabins was available!! :thumbsup2 Sure enough, we booked it!! :cheer2: I hope ya'all had good luck today too!!!

Took the family down to the main post office yesterday to apply for passports. Had to get it done before school starts, since they only do them between 9 and 3 each day. The lady there said they are already getting swamped with applications. She said that next spring it may take several months to get them processed. With the new requirements, they are expecting ALOT of apps.

Are the prices the same as last year? I know when I first got mine years ago it wasn't that expensive, but last year DS alone was $$. I was just curious.

Mary,

I believe it was $92 for adults and $87 for my 11 year old. We brought our own photos, or they would take them for you for $15 more. It was really a pretty simple process, other than the fact that both parents and child have to be there to apply for the child. The paper work was not too bad. I have been putting it off for a few years, so I was glad to get it over with. I never really liked traveling other countries with just a birth certificate.

this will be post #253 on this thread. 2006 turkey day is at #85. it's pathetic that this year's group is so apathetic. the views are barely over 1000, but that's less than 1/3 of this thread. oh well, the TDG will sail again in 2007.
