Good morning everyone. Just letting the car warm up outside. It is cold cold cold here this morning. Not so much the cold but the wind is really blowing. We have our year end meeting today so I get a free lunch at least. Not the worst Monday ever I guess. Hope you all have a great day.

guess i'll forgive gant for putting the kabosh on the steelers , all we had going for us was our home record. There was a movement afoot to take up a collection & fly our creepy new mascot "Steely McBean" to the away games; heretonow he was our good luck charm. Not sure if yinz guys have seen him - imo, dead ringer for ex-coach - Cowher.

an abomination, no compliment to "real" steelworkers.

OT company asked DH if we wanted to deliver steel (on icy roads) or "take it easy" and drop down several job classes/pay & sweep the switches today...i.e. grab a broom & go outside in sub-zero weather with even colder wind chill; and start manually clearing the railroad tracks...he's still laughing.

mac - SW opens their schedule this week, need to book flights to LAX. Miserable numerous connections only - crap. Family lobbying to fly into Midway just to "check it out"

mic - hope the BD celebration went off without a hitch 75 is quite an accomplishment! Wrapping presents by candlelight - if i squint hard enough i can imagine it could be romantic

pam - sorry to hear of the losses, DSs team tanked too on Friday. 3 games afterschool this week. DSs coach called the house yesterday & indicated that practice was moved to directly after school. I indicated that DS would be making up a test he missed while on vacation, got one of those long-drawn out sighs. He will only miss 1/2 hour, it's a long one stretching 3 hours today with weight lifting. Felt like telling him that he'd miss it entirely, since he's traveling 3 hours today during school to compete in a academic game competion and his brain will be too tired.

ocm - you kidding? I made a pilgrimage to VS to pick out that outfit just for you and as i recall it looked swell.

Morning Testers.....crunch week here. Work 4 days then off until Jan.2nd. Gonna play golf on Friday at Shingle Creek Resort here in Orlando. Been wanting to play this one since they opened but didn't want to pay the BIG BUCKS to play it. Got a deal to play Friday for FREE !!

I'll fly out of here on Saturday afternoon to Memphis and will be there until 12/30. Looking forward to getting back home to see the family. I can't believe it's been a year since I went home. I won't let that happen again.

Got nailed pretty good yesterday with snow -- we came out of Cam's basketball game (he scored 4 more baskets ) to a white-out. No snow day today, though.

I'm still getting over the stomach bug -- it kicked back in Friday night, with a vengence.

Here I is....sometimes in the morning, not sure if it's my aol or what, the Dis just loads so slow for me and I don't have time to wait...

Sounds like everyone is out from under the snow, we got nilch but still quite windy and chilly today. Another busy day at the paradise I call work but the light at the end of the tunnel says only 4 days left and we get a 4 day weekend. Christmas party for work is Saturday, so that is kinda putting a wrinkle in kicking back and doing nothing, but it should be a fun time.

Went out at lunchtime and put my SS in the mail YAY me...sorry it's a tad late getting out, but I seem to be late with everything anymore...should arrive on time, sent it priority

My new printer came today and boy did I need one, my other one was driving me nuts. Got this one all hooked up and running. Will read the manual later to see exactly what it can do. I'm just glad it prints, my old one printed one page of a 2 page letter I typed to a friend it would print sometimes and sometimes it wouldn't...and colored stuff came out all faded looking...anyway, I'm happy I got a new one.

KS, did you watch Survivor finale? I didn't care for that guy that won...and I watched them all, but really couldn't get into this group. Big Brother comes on again in February...guess the writers strike is starting to hit the shows.

Bob, glad you are feeling better.....Pam, how is that throat doing.

Tony, have an awesome trip home and enjoy your family, I'm so glad you are getting to go home for the holiday.

KS, cool beans on the trip to Orlando!

Keisha - that is the funniest thing about DH's job. I'm glad your DS got into Nationals. Have him help by doing fundraisers. Or make him your slave boy until he works it off. (He is going to hate me now)

Bob - Ugh...this is not a good time to be sick. I hope you feel better soon.

TVT - I hate pictures of me. If you still have it..throw it out.

Nico and I are in a football pool and so far, he is kicking my butt. It was $10 for the year and he is ranked number 5 out of 35. He is the only kid in it, but he is loving it. It was worth the money, even if he is winning. With the Redskins winning last night, he needs the Bears to win, or at least cover the spread, and this will be the 3rd week he has won. I picked the Vikings, but now I have to root for the Bears. Besides, if the Vikings lose, it will only help the Skins get into the playoffs. It's a long shot, but it still could happen.

Sorry about the Steelers, but I was happy since we picked the Jags. I was happy Miami won, but I really wanted them to get their win beating the Pats. Hopefully they can pull a rabbit out of a hat next week. That would be awesome.

On a completely different note, I couldn't remeber who had who last year for Kris Kringles. I thought I had Keisha, but it turns out..I had Deena. I went back and looked it all up today and it's amazing to read up on what people got. I will try to be good this year and not tell who has me until everyone get's their gifts. I still can't believe I can't remember who I bought a present for. I blame it on my age

Mic - I am so happy that you got your new toy and it's working properly. I just got a laptop a week or so ago and can I tell you what an absolute difference it makes. I LOVE getting new adult toys..laptops, printers and others. It makes life so much more enjoyable when everything works fast and correctly.

mic - congrats on the new printer; i'm challenged - don't know how to do anything on our other than copy (not scan or print pics-shameful). New years resolution is to educate myself on uploading pics all by myself . Never did get trained on full Word suite (used a sorta hunt & pick method on last version I had years ago). Had to open it up yesterday to type a letter , i'm lost. Evidently, has power point & excel too. Couldn't find a tutorial, perhaps an online course? Anyone know Edit - forgot to mention, no survivor for me...never did watch it; repulsed by all that bug eating

i've given up on football pool, steelers are underperforming (ala 'da bears) - dread this Thursday night's game...nothing like a national whupping to complete a lackluster season.

pam - hope you had some "me time"
