Keeping the foot propped up with ice on my ankle as directed. Pam, I didn't fill the prescription for pain stuff...I hate taking the stuff unless I need it, so if it starts throbbing badly, I'll send dh to drug store to get it filled. I took some Motrin earlier. It is more of a throb then what I would term pain...but I have to expect that. I peeked a couple times during the surgery...after he made the incision and right before he started chipping on the bone. He said he saw some arthritis in the little bit of bone he removed, so it's a good thing I had this done. The spur most likely came from some sort of trauma to my toe, falling or something years ago....which could very well be the time I took a nose dive on the sidewalk while walking from our hotel to Disneyland the first time we went to California...... and I do remember my husband laughing at me.......... , but whatever, the extra bit of bone is no longer...back to lie down, don't want my foot dangling and swellling any more than what it is. It looks like a mummy, lots of wrappings on it...I might put a red bow on it for work Monday Oh, and I will figure out something to put on it, I will NOT wear this monstrosity surgical shoe to work.........

Trent is coming home soon!! We were going to go to the funny bone tonight with some friends but decided against it. We wanted to spend some time with trent tonight. I do have to finish up the baby contest that i am incharge of. Our 4th of July fireworks are tomorrow night so my family is coming over tomorrow to eat dinner and then we will be off to the fireworks.

trent is home and it looks like he has been eaten alive!!! He has soooo many bites on him, but he had a great time so i guess that is the main thing.

Well, my tale isn't THAT exciting...but ya know, nothing ever happens in our house til someone is sick, hurt or had FOOT SURGERY...then ya know some crisis arrives.....this is starting to sound like mac's fridge saga

but, dh went down to the freezer in the basement, the door hadn't closed tightly, so half the crap was defrosted and the door wouldn't close cause of ice forming at the top...so I figure it has to be defrosted...so we try and ram what stuff isn't totally thawed into the fridge upstairs, throw a garbage bag full of other stuff out and start defrosting...it's melting so I have to put a plastic grocery bag on my sore tootsie so it doesn't get wet, it's starting to hurt a little cause I'm up and down the celler steps...THEN the stinkin phone starts ringing and it's my Dr. to check on me...so of course I lie and say everything is fine.. and I'm resting as directed ...but we got it defrosted quickly, it is so warm here it went quick, cleaned up the mess and its on getting cold again............BUT only in MY house does this crap happen........

Got my foot propped up on a trash basket so I can sit here for a bit...I usually have no problem laying in bed, but because I HAVE to, I'm bored and miss my friends...so here I am for a bit. I'm wearing down though, so will go back and hit the ice pack again and try and sleep. Figure tomorrow will be the day the darn thing will start to ache.

Poor Trent, bug bites are nasty........give him some TLC tonight..

Mic - I think its fine to lie to the Dr. But you are right..only right in the middle of a mess that the Dr called would be your luck.

I'm still hanging out mac....only Motrin for me so far, I hate taking the real stuff unless I have to...now tomorrow is another day and we'll see how I feel.....

Some of the food had to be thrown out from the freezer, some wasn't thawed out too much, but just a mess........I do believe something got hooked on the door, and it didn't close tight, but it was not the parent's who did this

I am off to bed, should sleep well, so far, minimal pain. I try not to be a wuss, but you know what, it's ok to be one.......if you are more comfortable getting knocked out, then it is a good thing......I live in a house of men, so I have to be tough......even if they are not when they get a dumb common cold... Any minor throbbing tonight could not feel any worse then when he stuck all that novacaine in my toe......OUCH....it hurt like heck I told him so too...........
