Hi Terry! Happy New Year!!

It sounds like you are ready for this marathon! If you have anymore room (or lime green Mickey heads), can you take me with you? :cool1:

Have a wonderful day!

Tracy

Happy New Years!!!

Good evening WISHers!! Just enjoying a lazy day at home, which is a good thing after yesterday! My DSis and I walked 11 miles yesterday as a trial run. We woke up at 5 am, put on our walking gear, headed to the trails just to discover it was TOO dark to walk! LOL! Neither of us were comfortable walking through the woods without any light, so we waited for some light and did some stretches. Hey! It is just like the marathon is going to be!

When we could see a little, we took off and walked 10 miles in 167 minutes with an additional mile of cool down. I had a good walk, despite TOM joining me. We both have our outfits worked out. Food and water are under control. Fanny pack is ready. We are READY!! :jumping4:

Yesterday evening I was sore, but iced up and kept moving slowly. Today I stretched more and feel much better! I guess moving around MGM Sunday night is going to be slow, but moving around the airport will be fine! Rats. ;)

Erin,
There is no way I am leaving the WISH journals after this marathon! You ladies have been here with me during my training, and I would miss each of you so very much. I will be shifting my focus to weight loss and continued exercise (might incorporate yoga for my MS). I want to keep physically fit and moving, and I think an exercise routine will help keep me strong throughout any MS flair-ups. I hope so!

Tracy, welcome aboard!! Glad to have you along for the walk. ::yes::

We plan on taking lots of pictures along the walk (we will have 2 disposable cameras with us!) and I will try to get a pic with my Mickey heads. I will definitely be posting some pics when we return!! :cheer2:

:flower1: Good morning, Terry, and Happy New Year! :flower1: It sounds like you have some terrific plans for keeping yourself in tip-top condition for 2005. You go, Terry! :cool1:

A few months ago, Doreen and I walked 11 miles and I felt like my hips were cast in cement late in the day, but it went away. :D Icing is a GOOD thing!

I'll be looking forward to those pics!

Erin

HAPPY NEW YEAR TERRY!

Terry,

You are definately ready for the 1/2 marathon. Just take it easy tomorrow. You have a tendency to push yourself. (You are in good company on this board. )

I know that 2005 will find you healthier despite the MS. You are a determined woman, and I admire that.

Take care.

Beth

Good luck in the Marathon. You will do great. I wish I was coming along. My husband would have my head if I even suggested it though. 4 trips in a year is way over the top for him. Me I see nothing wrong with it! ;)

Have a great day and take it easy on your walk today. :cool1:

 Hi Terry,
Happy New Year! You will do awesome with the half marathon :cheer2: ! And I'm sure you'll manage to sneak in some fun WDW time as well, right ::yes:: ? Good luck and I'll be thinking of you :flower1: !

ACK! We leave on Thursday!

I still haven't started packing BUT the Christmas decorations are coming down. Slowly but surely. It feels weird to start taking stuff down now - we always wait until the Epiphany - but I don't think I could handle coming back from the marathon to a house full of Christmas, so down it goes. The tree is empty - now it has to be disassembled and put back in the box. Does everyone take their tree apart? We always have, but my mom says I should just cover it, and put it in the basement. Wow - that would be easier! Never had a basement to do that with. Not sure how I feel about it either. Thoughts? Opinions??

I got my shot last night and WATP'd 4 miles with my sister. I feel hung over today so not terrible, but not great. TOM is here so I am not surprised. I have noticed I feel worse when it is TOM and shot time.

It has been a chore trying to get everything coordinated for leaving. Isn't it funny how my dh can leave and it requires no effort on his part, other than packing. I leave and I need to create calendars and spreadsheets with practice times, game times, phone numbers, etc... I guess men will never be as organized as women!

School starts tomorrow. It is going to be hard getting up early again! My body has been craving sleep and I have been listening to it. Unfortunately that means we have all been getting a late start each morning! I love to sleep.

Hi Terry - Sounds like you have a lot to do still. Take your time and remember to breath :earseek:

We use to always keep our tree up till Epiphany too (it's my birthday), but I find over the years, after New Years Eve, I am SO ready to get it down. I've actually thought of the "putting a bag over the tree", but its not that big of a deal to take it down and DH puts the box up in the attic (we also have a basement that holds all the decorations)

Well atleast your TOM is now and not in 5 days  I hope your all done with that when you get there so you can enjoy yourself :earboy2:

And NO, men will NEVER be as organized as women :cool1: My kids went back today and that alarm at 6:15am was a VERY rude awakening :earseek: :earseek: Good luck tomorrow

:cloud9: Ahh, sleep IS a good thing, isn't it? :earboy2: At least you didn't have to send the kids back yesterday. . .it was a rude awakening for DD when her alarm went off at 5:40, let me tell you!

I say that if you have room in the basement, put the tree away FULLY ASSEMBLED and just cover it with plastic. Bring it up next year, plop it in place, and let the decorating fun begin! As long as it's dry down there, you've got no worries. We always take ours apart--we just don't have the storage room.

Have a good day, Terry. Hope you're feeling better today. :D

Erin

I decided we are going for the Put the Tree Away Assembled plan and guess what? It won't fit down the stairs! LOL! Oh well. It was a thought and now I know it won't work.

I spent sometime this morning checking out Target clearance deals (holiday stuff is 75% off now) and found some items for Jessie's classroom store. Containers of Legos - 99 cents. Stuff by Hilary Duff nailpolish sets - $1.24. Small metal lunchboxes filled with sour gummies - 99 cents. I also found some fleece throw blankets for $1.99. I bought several cream ones. I use them in a basket for the teacher's Christmas present. Add some microwave popcorn, a movie box of candy and a Hollywood video gift card - done! Pretty nice gift for under $15!

I am trying NOT to take a nap today, so my body will be more prepared for travel and the marathon. Of course, I WILL be napping after that long walk! :earboy2: Just have to get back into the early to bed, early to rise routine. I better get back to list making/packing!

Hey Terry!

Isn't it amazing what we moms have to do in order to go away for a few days. Of course, my DH doesn't EVEN pack his own bag when going for a weekend with the guys!! I get the last laugh though - the other men all make fun of him for that! :rotfl:

You are going to do great on Sunday Terry! You should be so incredibly proud of yourself for accomplishing this! :cool1: WTG!!

Happy packing and list writing!!

Hi Terry,

I was going to warn you about the tree. My Mom had no problem getting her tree down the stairs, but broke the top of it bringing it up the next year.

You are going to do great this weekend. I'm sure that DH will be able to chauffer everyone without a problem. It is his problem this weekend.

If I don't get back here before you leave. Have a great time and good luck. I'll be :cheer2: :cheer2: for you.
Beth

Terry, can't wait to meet you this weekend!! I hope your travel is safe and uneventful, in spite of the lousy weather out your way.

We're gonna do GREAT!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I had to promise my husband that we would have no plans the day of the marathon after it was over. He plans on going right back to sleep when we get back to the hotel. Of course I plan on hitting the pool and hot tub before taking a well deserved nap.

Have a good day today and see you marathon day!

~Amanda
