Teresa's WISH Journal (AGAIN)

Hey Tera! Today is your first WW meeting, right? How was it? WW for me yesterday was good, I lost 2.8 pounds for a total of 13.8 since I started (for the 2nd time) the week of Thanksgiving. Thought that was pretty good considering I made it through Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm hoping for to hit 15 next week but we'll see. I'll be happy with any loss.

That sounds like a good deal, being in school 9 weeks then getting 3 weeks off. How long has the school been doing the year round thing?

Hope you had a good day and enjoyed your WW meeting!

Yes, move on and get to work again. Rehashing the past is a sure fire way to kill momentum on the future. Let it go. Start over.

I'm loving the WiiFit. I have to battle DS to get on the gaming system though. He goes back to school tomorrow so that will end. Got a rechargeable battery thing for the motes and the board today so I should be all set.

Here's hoping that your meeting tonight is positive and motivating. Don't get bogged down in comparing today's numbers to past numbers. Just move forward. Forgive yourself and begin anew. Let us know how the meeting goes...

Hey Ladies....

I can't believe how tired I am today. Crazy day at work. Kids haven't quite gotten into the swing of things just yet (probably in another 6 weeks when we're getting ready to track off again).

Went to WW right after work. Tons of ladies in line to weigh-in. Took me about 20 minutes and missed about 15 mins of the meeting. My starting weight was 200.6 which is heartbreaking since I was at 152.8 just 3 years ago. Where the hell did I go wrong?:confused3 Not sure how I'm going to be liking weighing in so late in the afternoon since I obviously need to eat during the day. Miss those early morning meetings before I eat. I'm actually considering hitting a 7:00am meeting before work on Wednesday. Maybe when the weather starts to warm up some (like in April). So its done and now I have to work on getting it back off. My original goal weight was 144, which I hit 4 years ago and lasted for about 8 weeks. I'm shooting for about 155-160 now. Just don't think I have it in me to keep stuggling to keep it under 150.

I did go to the gym after the meeting, even though I am/was dead tired. Just did some weights and then the bike for a total of about 40 minutes.

Donna - Congratulations on your weigh-in. I think that's awesome that you got through the holidays and still loss. That's the toughest time. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you to get to that 15 next week.

I'm not sure how long my school has been doing year round since I've only been there since July. My old school did it years ago, but changed to motified traditional about 5 years ago.

TxRabbit - Thanks for the encourgement. I know we shouldn't let the number get to us, but you know how it is. I actually had them start me all over instead of having to see that I was 40+ pounds up. Just gives me a new goal. Have fun enjoying that Wii all to yourselves when your DS goes back to school ;)

I do know how it is. My number is 194 according to the Wii. My scale is not accurate at all, so I'm going off the Wii numbers. I did get down to around 155 about 3 years ago also. I understand the heartbreak about it all. I know that I didn't journal then. I think that the journaling and the daily recording of calories, etc., will really go along way towards figuring out what the deal is with me and food. I've always read that the daily food logs is a key factor in losing and maintaining. I believe it. Make the commitment to do it and you will be able to head off any backsliding in the future. ;)

You made the first step tonight. Way to go! Knowing exactly where you are is key to help you get where you are going.

Good for you for getting to the gym even tho' you were tired. It's so well worth it, even if you just do a little workout. It keeps that habit strong.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Well its Wednesday, so the week is half way over. Its also my 43rd birthday. When did I get so old?? I actually feel good. When I turned 40, my goal was to be in the 140's which I did, just didn't last long. I still think I look better than I did in my 30's, so I'm okay with it.

Bowling is tonight, so I need to be strong. I'm sure there will be a few birthday drinks in there, but need to make sure I eat before bowling and not order anything there. That's the killer as far as I'm concerned.

So did anyone watch The Biggest Loser last night? I love that show. If that doesn't motivate you to lose weight, nothing will. I've never been as high as some of those ladies, but I can definitely relate on how hard it is growing up when your heavy. When I lost my weight (the first time) I was on top of the world. It's funny when I watch that show and how much water I drink :) Looking forward to watching some of those big guys drop the weight (30 pounds in 1 week.... I wish)

Have a great day!!!!:cool1:

TxRabbit - I think tracking was key and I did get lazy about it. I figured I was at goal, so I didn't need to do it anymore. Big mistake. I actually love this nutrimirror.com that I'm tracking on. I think this is almost easier than doing the points. Once I have all the food I eat mostly, its been easy. Tells me how many calories I'm allowed for the weight I want to lose. I'm thinking this time I'll do better because now I'll know how hard maintenance is and I'll have to be more aware about everything that goes into my mouth for the rest of my life.

inkkognito - I figure if I can get a minimum of 30 minutes of something every day, that's good. Today no gym, but I do walk a lot at work and I have bowling tonight (does that count? ;) ). Tomorrow I'll hit the cardio hard to make up for it.

Happy Birthday to you! Happy BIRTHDAY toooo youuuuu! HAAAAAPPPPPYYYYYY BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRTHDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TEEEEEEEEEEEEEERAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Happy birthday to you!!

Have a great time tonight!!! Remember that the present you can give yourself tonight is to continue on your healthy journey. Maybe grab an "indulge" treat to take with you to bowling so you aren't tempted to get food there?

Happy Birthday Tera!!!!!! :cool1: Hope your day is wonderful and you kick butt at bowling tonight!!

How did you like your WW leader? Did you get a chance to make a decision since you missed some of the meeting? I can totally relate to not liking to weigh in so late in the afternoon. My meeting is at 5:00 and I really wish I could find one close to home where I could go in the morning. I think your goal weight of 155-160 is very reasonable, especially if that's what you're comfortable with and feel like you can maintain long-term, those are the most important things. Good luck with everything, we're ALL here for you!

I watched The Biggest Loser last night. It's my favorite show so I always have to tune in. The guys (and even some of the ladies) really had some big losses. I agree, it is very motivating and really keeps me focused on my goals.

Again, have a very Happy Birthday!!!

Hi Tera! Just wanted to wish you a good day. Hope you had a great birthday yesterday :)

Tera

I just wanted to say that you are not alone, I have gained 40lbs over the past few years.

the 190's SUCK!!!

We can do this!!!! 150's by summer!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I don't watch Biggest Loser myself but DH is addicted to it. I think he bought a couple of exercise books based on the show.

Stay strong tonight. :thumbsup2

Hi Tera (and everyone else) :goodvibes

Happy Birthday a day late! Hope it was a great one!

I just found your journal and am subbing in. Congrats on getting started again! This seems like a good thread for me to follow as I have also gained back 40lbs that I had lost approx 2 years ago! :confused3 I don't feel like I'm alone here! :thumbsup2

Thank you for mentioning NutriMirror. I just went there and signed up! Looks wonderful! I won't start logging everyone on there until Saturday - my start date - but once I get weighed and measured on Saturday, I'll plug everything in and get going! I'm sure it will be a great help!

Thanks guys for the birthday wishes. It was a good day for me. Work was crazy as usual and I was so proud of myself that my co-workers bought me a German Chocolate cake and I had 1 teaspoon of the icing (I'm more of a sugar freak than cake) and put the rest in our teachers lounge :thumbsup2. I knew I was bowling and wanted to save any points for that. Now bowling I didn't eat, but I did have 4 shots of tequila (I didn't buy them) I did make sure to drink my water. My DH had some friends buy a cake, which I didn't have one piece of (but did eat a little of the icing -I did mention I love sugar ;) ). I actually bowled awesome considering how much I had to drink. Made sure to get tons of water in before bed.

Got up this morning and I was actually down a 1/2 pound  You gotta love it :thumbsup2

Today was another busy day. It's been so cold here, that the kids haven't been able to go outside for recess (this was day two of that). They are bouncing off the walls. We put in a exercise DVD and did that this afternoon (can't get enough exercise in) and that seemed to help. Thank God tomorrow is Friday though.

Tomorrow we're having neighbor and friends over for a "happy hour". I plan to pick up some shrimp since I know I can eat tons of that for little points. Also will have a veggie tray, so hopefully I don't blow my hard work (and sacrifies) in one evening.

Donna - I liked the WW leader, but since I missed about 15 minutes of the meeting, didn't get a great feel for her. I plan to leave work earlier next week so I can catch the whole thing. It's important for me to hear about what other people are dealing with on a daily bases.

Thanks CantWait - I like your idea, 150's by summer :thumbsup2

Kidsrfun - I'm glad you like that website. I've been using for a couple of days now and really love it. I'm good about adding items that are not on their list to make sure I get an accurate number. Since I bring food for my day, I put everything in first thing in the morning and then add anything I might have eaten when I get home. It's been great so far :)

Hope everyone has had a wonderful day. One more to go!!!:cool1:

Good for you, Tera for just tasting the icing on your birthday cake(s)! That's a huge accomplishment in my eyes and would have been nearly impossible for me. I'm a sugar freak, a chocolate freak, basically a sweets freak lol! ;) Ok...4 shots of tequila? I would have been sliding down the alley with the bowling ball at that point!!!! Sounds like you really did a great job navigating your way around the food and sweet stuff on your birthday. Good job on that and being down a half a pound. Every little bit counts and adds up to the final goal so way to go!

Good plan for Tuesday to leave work just a little early so you can get to WW earlier than last week. I agree, the meetings are so important and really help me as well so I know I wouldn't want to miss much of it either.

Have a great weekend and enjoy yourself. You're doing a great job (look at those exercise minutes you're racking up already!!!) :thumbsup2

Excellent control on just tasting that icing!

The shrimp and veggies sound like a good plan for the get-together.

Morning....

I can't believe it's already Sunday. Where does the weekend go? :confused3

I've been bad about posting on here. Just trying to get into a routine with working out and then finding time to do stuff around the house. It was all so much easier when I was a stay at home mom.

Friday I had a bunch of friends over to celebrate the birthday. Had tons of food and I think I did well eating lots of shrimp & veggies (dipped in some guacamole) but did have some cheese and some other small appetizers. Didn't over-indulge. I did have some drinks.

Yesterday I met a friend at the gym. We did 35 minutes on the ellpitical & then some weight lifting and then sat in the sauna for about 20 minutes. Hoping I sweat off about 20 pounds *lol* I was up 2 pounds after Friday night, but I'm not too worried about it. Think it was more of a lack of water.

I am going to the gym again today. That'll be 5 days this whole week. Probably more cardio and sit in the sauna again.

My tracking has been really good. Writing (typing) everything down. Finally signed up for my eTools from WW. Very cool! I found last night was tough actually getting all my points in since I earned at least 4 just from working out.

Thanks again ladies!!! I always appreciate your thoughts.

Have a wonderful day!!!:thumbsup2

Me again....

Wanted to post that I went to the gym again today :yay:. Did the treadmill for 35 minutes and tried running during that time. I am SO not a runner and could only do about 3 minutes at a time. Guess that can be a goal for me. Even though I did weights yesterday, I did a few exercises for my arms. I can tell by my clothes that my arms are bigger. Finished up with 20 minutes on the stairmaster. That machine kicks my butt :worship:

Been watching some football playoff games today and just enoying sitting and relaxing.

Hope everyone else is having a nice day

Hi Tera! Sounds like you had a fun weekend. Good for you for going to the gym both Saturday and Sunday. Woohoo!!!:thumbsup2 You're really moving right along with those exercise minutes, that's awesome! I really need to pick up the pace and plan to do around 75-80 minutes per day the rest of the week. That's what I usually try to do but have been slacking since late last week.

Was supposed to go to my WW meeting tonight but had to miss it :( Youngest DS wasn't feeling well, oldest DS is lifting weights after school and DH had to work late so guess I'll have to wait til next week to see if I've lost 15 pounds since I started back in Nov. I've lost 50 total (over the period of almost 2 years) so that's the clippie I'm using. Can't wait to hear how your weigh in goes tomorrow, I bet you did great!

Hope you had a good day at work and a good work out at the gym! :goodvibes
