Teresa's WISH Jouranl (Comments Welcomed)

Hi Tera!
You are doing great! Don't get discouraged...it's a marathon, not a sprint!
You're doing the correct things and you are healthier! No obsessive with the EVIL scale from the Black Lagoon...the Creature that wouldn't budge!!! :smooth:

Hi Teresa,

I've noticed you are WAY past half way to the 5 lbs in January Challenge. You are doing fantastic. If you've hit a plateau if probably just means your body needs a little time to "reorganize"!!!! With all your exercise and careful eating you'll see the scale move in no time flat! :flower1:

I'm ready for Spring, too. BIG TIME!

Sundie

I agree a loss is a loss. I know it is frustrating because I am frustrated right now with the evil scale myself. We'll both get through it. Onward and downward right? :cool1:

Thanks Aurora - I know your right and I should know better. I guess because I've had this great pace, but all good things have to come to a stop... or atleast a slow crawl :guilty:

Hi Sundie - I like that... my body needs to "reorganize" :earboy2: It better hurry up! :D

Hi Wilderness - You and I and that darn scale :earseek: I'm not going to freak out over it anymore. Joined the new scale challenge, so the only time I'm going to know my weight is on WI days. I'm going to keep plugging away at the gym, watch what I'm eating and see how it goes.

Well today has been pretty good so far. Got up and went to the gym after dropping kids off. I did 20 minutes on the bike and then took my first class at the gym. I've been going there for over a year, but never took a class :earboy2: Did the yoda/pilates class and enjoyed it. It was nice to be able to stretch out those poor muscles from yesterdays weight lifting. DH was off again today (he's trying to use up some of his sick time in case he gets laid off on Saturday) We went to Red Robin for lunch and I had a chicken faijta salad and some fries. I'm not sure what the points are (salad had chicken, lettuce, corn, black beans, shredded cheese and green & red peppers). I drizzled little dressing, so I put down 15 points in my book. I know that's a lot, but I'm having my 0 point veggie soup for dinner, so this still gives me a few more for a snack later and toast with dinner. I will be drinking down four 32 ounce bottles of water between now and bed time.

I've taken the scale challenge, but it's going to be hard to stay off that thing between now and February 14th. If I can do that, I can do anything

Maybe you're right...maybe I should join the scale challenge. What a way to start off my "diet" But then again, I'm trying to do the NBC....hmmm...I need to think on this :scratchin

Keep up the great work!! We got a Red Robin a couple of months ago...I liked it a little too much  Bottomless fries! They are so evil

Hi there woman,

I just wanted to pop in and say have a great weekend. I also wanted to thank you for inspiring me to do an extra 30 minutes on the elliptical. Thanks the help.

Take care,
Beth

Tera, sending you lots of strength and will power to stay off the scale! I know I won't do it so I'm not even going to join the challenge! :crazy2: I do weigh just about every day but it actually helps me I think to stay focused and watch what I'm eating (not that I've done a very good job of that this week! ). Anyway, you can do it!

Since this is the tv thread. :teeth:

Anyone watching Celebrity Fit Club on VH1? It just started last Sunday night. I think it's going to be pretty interesting, probably a bit more comical and over the top than Biggest Loser since it's got "celebrities" on it. It will be interesting to see how they do.

ME! Guilty as charged!! Tera, if you aren't watching Celebrity Fit Club you are going to have to start now. Sorry!

Tera, I love that salad at Red Robin. I think 15 points is more than enough for the salad if you drizzled the dressing, otherwise it would be 4 points JUST for 2 Tblspns of their dressing. It is yummy though.

That yoga/pilates class sounds great! I need to find some options like that. DH and I are going to visit a couple of different fitness places this coming week and the Y is one of them. Maybe I can fit some classes in as well. :)

Tell me more about yoga!!! Everyone at school talks about it... Maybe it is something I should do for me!

Hi Everyone! Seems like I haven't posted forever :earseek:

Beth - Great job on doing that extra 30 minutes of the elliptical :cool1: You know that's why I'm here, so inspire :flower1:

Gail - Glad you joined the scale challenge. It was tough yesterday, but I got through it :earboy2:

Michelle/Terry - I actually did catch the end of that Celebrity Fit Club. I was just flipping channels while putting laundry away and there it was. I didn't see all who was on there, but caught the last two people picked (the Sopranos guy and the Snapple lady). I'll have to check out the website to see who else is on there.

Hi Sarahsmom - This was the first yoga class I've ever taken and I really enjoyed it. My arms were SO sore the next day though, because of some of the "poses" they have you do works that upper body. Yoga is to help with strength, balance (and inner peace :earboy2: just kidding) and a lot of stretching. It was actually a great class to take the day after doing weights since I was very sore and it helped to stretch my muscles out.

Okay... here's how I've done the past couple of days. It's been hard to stay off the scale, but so far so good. Yesterday I didn't have a lot of time at the gym, so I pushed myself and did 60 minutes on the glider type machine and burned 715 calories!!!! Had to take my Dad to the eye doctor and then the grocery store to pick up a few things. Once home, I had a tuna sandwich for lunch (I was STARVED!) and spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning house (yet again). DH and I decided to let the kids to go to the rec center for Rec & Rock where they have 10 -14 year olds locked in to swim, dance, play basketball, etc from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. Katie isn't actually 10 for another 3 weeks, but they never asked. Since this was their first time, we let them stay till 10:00pm and DH and I went to Fox and the Hound (bar/restaurant) for a few hours, had a couple of beers (I think I had 4 or maybe 5 :earseek: ) I had a chicken quesadilla and then DH and I split this DEVINE chocolate cake. I'm not even going to try and think how many points I used last night. I had 19 to spare, but I'm sure I went into my flex points. We picked the kids up at 10:00 sharp and they had a blast. Came home and sucked down water :earseek:

Today we have our fantasy football awards, so I'm sure there is beer in my future yet again today. I'll have my veggie soup for lunch and dinner and save as many points as I can. Tomorrow I will drink water like I've never drank water before :earboy2: :earboy2:

Going to the rec center is big there huh? My girlfriend just moved to Broomfield and her son has already gone. Sounds like fun. Have a good weekend. :flower1:

Wilderness - This was our first time, so I don't know how popular it is. Since it's so cold, I guess having indoor activities for kids is popular.

We went to Fox & Hound again today for our fantasy football awards and I had 3 beers (6 points) and split a couple of appetizers with a friend. It's so hard trying to figure out what the points are for restaurants not in our book or online. I think I did good, but who knows. I had one Mike's Hard Lemonade with diet sprite later and a half of a beer at the bowling alley. I just hope I haven't really killed my chances of losing something on Tuesday. Staying off the scale has been tough and I want to know what I might be on Tuesday. Tomorrow I will do my soup or something else that's low in points and lots lots and lots of water. Monday I will have a good workout, maybe just cardio and sit in the sauna.

I think that once in a while s night like that is ok... I think maybe that us why I fell off the wagon the last time! I NEVER allowed myself one bite of anything I shouldn't... I bet you'll be fine ... Besides today is a new day and you already have a plan! Good for you!

Sarahsmom - I totally agree with you on that. I guess maybe because I did it two days straight that is bumming me out. WW even talks about not depriving yourself of a special meal or treat once in awhile. I plan on doing that, but because of last weeks disappointing loss, I wanted to make up some ground.

Here's my post for today:

Well today is the day I will be trying to flush everything I've eaten the past 2 days out of my system. I made 3 egg whites (0 points) and 2 slices of wheat toast (1 point) for breakfast. I made a bag of popcorn for a snack, but didn't eat the whole thing, so 1 point there. I just finished lunch, tuna in a wheat tortilla with tomato & lettuce. That was yummy and costed me about 5 points. I'm just finishing up my first 32 ounce water, but had some this morning too. Tonight I'll probably have the rest of my soup and some toast and maybe even something for dessert. The kids are off tomorrow, so I'll sleep in till 7:30 and then head to the gym. I'm planning on some weights, but mostly cardio and then sit in the sauna for awhile. Tuesday will be the first time in a few days that I'll get on the scale and just pray pray pray that I'm down about 2 pounds. No more... no less

Sounds like you are having a good day! Just keep focused! The weight will come off! Your body is just being stubborn!

Keep it up!

Jen

Tera...you really shouldn't worry about it! As many calories as you burned this week in your exercising...2 lbs shouldn't be that hard. Just continue the flush today and tomorrow and Tuesday should be fine! Maybe your body needed this shake up! The good thing is that you have gone back to plan. Guzzle that water.

I watched Celebrity Fit Club...I liked it. It comes on so much. Today was the 2nd episode..I haven't caught it yet. I'm sure it will be on over and over again!

Went to Applebees yesterday and had food from WW menu...it was so good! Had the french onion soup(3pts) and shrimp tempuri(5pts)...it was just awesome!!! I don't know if it was because I was starving or not..I will have to try that again sometime.

Thanks so much for being such a motivator! You are doing great!

GOOD JOB. I too have joined WW and am on my way!! I lost 6.2 this week  I hope you meet your goal and continue to have success in your journey.

Tera, try not to beat yourself up too badly, you overindulged, you recognize that and you are back with the program now. You might think your loss last week wasn't up to par but there is no such thing as a bad loss, you should be celebrating every ounce!

You have been doing great with exercise and I can only recall you ever having a gain 1 time. You are in control girlfriend, don't let this drag you down. Kick it back into high gear and I'm sure you will see a loss on Tuesday, but if it's not the 2lbs. you want you are not to sulk about it, understand? If it's an ounce loss we will still celebrate like it's 10lbs. :cool1:

I forgot to add my celebrity fit club comments. LOL

The contestants are Judge Mabelene (Divorce Court), Ralphie (some comedian, I don't even know his last name), Kim Coles (In Living Color, Living Single), Wendy Kauffman (the Snapple Lady), Biz Markie (rapper), Daniel Baldwin, Mia Tyler (Model, Steven Tyler's daughter) and Joseph Gannascoli (The Sopranos).

I already saw today's new episode but I won't give any spoilers in case others haven't seen it yet. It was interesting.
