Teresa's WISH Jouranl (Comments Welcomed)

 Don't be so hard on yourself Tera. You are doing absolutely wonderful. You may not be where you envisioned yourself...but look how far you've come in 5 months! Even if you aren't at your goal weight by your cruise...look back at where you started...be happy that you are so far from that weight! You will have so much fun on your cruise.

You are such an huge supporter of so many! :cheer2: Sounds like TOM has got you down. But just remember that he goes in a few days and so does the bloat.

Enjoy happy hour tomorrow!

Hi Michelle - Thanks for the  It helps. I'm sure it just those darn hormones going wild. Hey, that can be a new reality show "Hormones Gone Wild - See women go crazy battling weight loss, family and TOM. Tonight at 7:00" :earboy2:

Hi Beth - You are so sweet. Always wishing someone else to take it easy and your the one that keeps us all going :D I realize that this is a life change for me and I need to just CHILL :earseek: The boots weren't such a big deal. I know my calves are big and it's going to take more than 5 months to get all these extra inches off. The shorts were a little more disappointing, but I know I'll get into them by the summer. I almost bought them, but they weren't on sale and wasn't willing to pay $25 for something that didn't quite fit. I'll try again in April... Thank you

Hey Gail! Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it. I keep thinking to myself that even if I'm not at my goal, I'm still 30 pounds lighter and will be close to 50 pounds lighter than last year. That's HUGE (like my butt :earboy2: ) I always told myself that last summer would be the last one that I was going to feel and look fat and I am determined to get down as much as I can by then. Anything is better than last year.

I just realized my last post was number 1,000. I joined the DIS board in March of last year and I've posted 1,000 times. I think I have a problem :earseek:

You are doing such an awesome time! I think it is difficult being a woman as we have the whole monthly hormonal issue to deal with! It stinks! You can and will do this! Today is a new day! :flower1: Besides it's Friday ~ so TGIF! I hope you have a great day!

Hi Tera,

I hope you are feeling a bit better. There is nothing like a Friday evening to cheer one up.

If you have a problem with the DIS, I think we all qualify. I try not to look at my post count. It makes me dizzy.

Havea great weekend,
Beth

Thanks Sarahsmom and Beth!!

Well today has been a long day. Got up this morning and walked Katie to school and then walked to the gym (about a 30 minute walk). It was a beautiful (but chilly morning). Did 45 minutes on the elliptical machine, 30 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the stair master. I felt tired, but good :earseek: DH picked me up and we headed to Sam's to pick up a few things. After we headed home and I got cleaned up, we went to Fox & The Hound for lunch. I had 1 beer and a chipolte chicken wrap. DH and I split the world's best chocolate cake for dessert. I had estimated about 18 points for that meal. I'm sure I overestimated, but better safe then sorry. Came home and actually took a nap. Headed to happy hour about 5:30 and had 3 Mike's Hard Cranberry's and Diet Sprite and then one taco for dinner. I think I did okay overall, not great, but could have been way worse. Tonight I will drink some water and then tomorrow I'm determined to do good. Jessica has her Feis(Irish dancing competition), so we'll have lunch at Applebees before and then I will pack good snacks to get me through the day. The next few days are critical if I want to get that 1.4 pounds.

Drinking water now and then off to bed I go....

I also was looking at boots and they had these calf high type boots 70% off and I thought, "those would be cool to have". I put them on and couldn't get them all the way up my calf.

Sorry about the boots, Tera. I don't know if it will help, but I got a pair of totally cool 'go go' boots when I was in grade school. Santa brought them for me. I was SO excited (I was probably in 3 or 4th grade) until I tried them on and they wouldn't fit over MY calves! If boots can't fit over the calves of a normal sized child, then you shouldn't despair. That's probably why they were marked 70% off! No one could get them on!!

I thought our post count was something we tried to get higher??

BTW, I have a Jessica too! She only goes by JESSIE though. Jessica is too 'girly' for her, she says.

I hope you have a great day! You really are doing a great jobe so be sure to give yourself some credit today!

Enjoy your day Tera! You're doing great...I was reading about you walking 30 minutes to the gym..and all I could think was.."she's gonna have to walk home after that major workout"...but then saw your DH picked you up..but still you are a dedicated person to take that walk! You go girl! :Pinkbounc

I've been avoiding alcohol...and I really don't miss it..right now anyway. It really helps that it's winter time and we really aren't going out on the weekends. But when spring/summer approach..that will be a different story! But by then I hope to have lost some of this weight and enjoy a nice cold one!

Gail

Hi Terry - That is too funny about the boots. I don't think I've ever been able to wear those either since my calves have always been big. I think I might just buy those darn boots and use them as a guide for my weight loss. Hell, I think at 70% off, they were probably less than $20. They would probably look great next Fall with a skirt :earboy2: How old is your Jessie? Mine is 12 and we call her Jess sometimes, but mostly Jessica. I actually call her Pumpkin :p

Thanks Sarahsmom!

Hey Gail - I'm not sure I could have walked home since it's mostly uphill and I definitely was dragging when I left the gym :earseek: I wish I could totally avoid alcohol, but I don't see that happening while the kids are living at home :earboy2: I have definitely cut back from normal, if you can believe that  And when I do drink it, I try and "water" it down with a diet soda. I know what you mean about the summer though, it's definitely going to be harder, but we'll be celebrating our weight loss by then :cool1:

Well here's todays post, as short as it is:

Well today I feel officially like crap. Slept terrible last night and woke up to cramps. Lucky me!! Went to Applebees for lunch (had a WW salad) and then off to Jessica's feis (her Irish dancing competition). What a long day..... Got there at noon and left after 4:30pm. She got two 3rd places out of 7 dances. She was a little disappointed, but it will make her practice more. I did well with snacking (had 4 rice cakes and a granola bar) and drank lots of water. We're kicking back now, watching a movie. I had some of my veggie soup with turkey and toast for dinner. I'm so stinkin' tired, bloated and just ewwwwwww :crazy2: Wish I would just start my TOM and get it over with. Tomorrow we'll be hanging out at home, cleaning up the backyard since all the snow is finally gone (before the next storm) and getting ready for the ski trip on Monday. The girls are both skiing with their schools and me and a friend are chaperoning the bus and plan to snowshoe during the day. I just hope I feel up to it. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh... did I mention how crappy I feel? Must be time to pop a couple more Midol :earseek: :earseek:

Hi Tera!
My Jessie is 11 1/2 now. Have the hormones started raging over there yet? :earseek: Sometimes sweet as pie, sometimes it is just scary! :scared:

TOM will be here soon and you will be feeling better! Promise!!

Tera

Hope you feel better! Sorry you had such a rough night! I hope today is a better day!

Hi Sarahsmom - Unfortuntely another bad night, but I'm sure it'll get better (or I'll kill myself :earseek: )

Hey Terry - Definitely the hormones are going. She was/is always my "good" kid, but man, when she is in a mood, she's in a MOOD :earseek: She hasn't started her TOM yet, but the doctor said within the next year and God help us all :scared1:

God, do I feel like crap today. Another terrible night of sleeping, which is weird for me. I woke up with craps again this morning, but still no TOM. Really having a hard time getting it together today. Finally got into the shower at 11:00 and I feel a little better. My emotions today are really screwed up. I'm so stinkin' sensitive and feel like just breaking down. God I love being a woman.... :earseek: :earseek: Tomorrow is the ski trip and I'm so not looking forward to it. Need to make sure I have gloves, hat and stuff and get my bag packed tonight. Tomorrow I'll need to get up at 5:30am, so I'm sure I'll be a happy camper. Feeling bloated today and I'm a little nervous for my weigh in on Tuesday. I'll be drinking lots of water today and do what I can tomorrow and just keep my fingers crossed.

Football playoffs are on this afternoon, so I'm sure I'll be sitting on my butt most of the day.

Hi Teresa,
Ugghhh! It WILL go away. Just keep telling yourself...

Enjoy the ski trip...make sure to pack some Midol or maybe a tranquilizer  I'm in PMS mode too right now...my poor family...they can't do anything right  I keep going to hide because I know it's me.

Thanks everyone!!!! Feeling a little better and I'm sure I'll be totally fine in another day or two.

Well I'm tired as heck now. Got up at 5:00am today and went on the ski trip. We got up to Winter Park around 8:30am and after all the kids got to their classes, my friend and I went snowshoeing for about 2 1/2 hours. Fitday.com says I should have burned over 1000 calories :cool1: Eating wasn't too bad... cereal in the morning before we left, half bagel on the bus, granola bar on the trail and an open faced pot roast sandwich for lunch. I know the sandwhich wasn't great, but I had burned tons of calories walking. Tried to drink tons of water and know I got in atleast 80 ounces up there and then more once I got home. My friend & I walked around for a little while and then found a seat with a big picture window looking at the ski slopes. We watched for awhile before heading back to the bus. Trip home was quick and quiet (gotta love DVD players) I am soooo tired and will slep like a baby tonight. DH is cooking dinner tonight and I will have grilled chicken and lots of veggies. I finally started my TOM, so I'm not sure what my weigh in will be like tomorrow... we'll just have to wait and see.

1000 calories?!?! :earseek:
Now THAT'S a workout!! I hope you had fun while you were snowshoeing? snowwalking? Whatever it is called! LOL You can tell snow activities aren't my piece of cake. I am too afraid of freezing! Yep, I admit it, I am a snow wimp.

Here's some :wizard: for a good week and a great Tuesday WI. I bet you will have a GREAT night's sleep tonight!

Teresa, I'm hoping WI was a pleasant experience. If not, take heart! Next week, after TOM is good & gone, I'm sure the number will be better.

Just stick to the basics - water, food, exercise! Amanda has been chanting this and it has really stuck in my head. It works!

Hope you have a great day! :sunny:
