Teresa's WISH Jouranl (Comments Welcomed)

Thank you Michelle! I really REALLY appreciate yours and everyone else's support. I know I must sound like a big baby  I guess I just want to stay on track so badly so I can feel and look great on our cruise and I've totally become obsessed with it. I always told myself that I would lose weight slowly so I would be able to keep it off and I'm doing the complete opposite. I also want last year to be the LAST YEAR that I'm ever ever EVER fat again! I picture myself in cute tops and small size shorts and even a cute little swimsuit. I know I have plenty of time, still over 3 months till our cruise, but I admit, I'm a very impatient person

I need you and everyone else on here to keep me inline and focused on those little weight losses instead of the BIG picture :earboy2:

Also, I did actually catch some of that Celebrity Fit Club (or CFC) today. My DH was laughing at how I always seem to find all the weight challenge shows. Well HEY, I'm trying to LOSE weight :p I did see their weigh in's, but that was about it. I need to find it and put the reminder on so I won't forget.

Thanks again Michelle

I understand being impatient!!! It seems so frustrating when you are working so hard!!! You are doing such a great job and are going to look great on your cruise! :wizard:

Thanks Sarahsmom!!!!

Well today is Monday... why does the weekend go by so fast??? :guilty: Kids were off today, so I set the alarm for 7:30 and enjoyed the extra hour sleeping in. Kids were still asleep, so off to the gym I went. I got about 20 minutes in on weights and some time chatting with a friend  I did only 15 minutes on the stair-from-hell machine because my Mp3 player died :earseek: I got in 20 minutes on the bike and that was about it. Kids wanted to go to the mall, so after picking up Jessica's "friend", we went up there and walked around. I bought a WW cookbook at the bookstore and then Katie and I had lunch in the food court. I had a veggie sandwich on whole wheat and besides the dressing, I think it was pretty darn good for me. Katie and I continued to walk around a little more, trying to work off lunch. Speaking of Katie, she has put a lot of weight on lately and we've trying to incorporate the WW with her. She had topped off at 115.5 pounds (she's almost 10 years old and about 48 inches tall) She's got a big tummy and has a hard time finding things that fit. Anyways, today she weighed in at 114, so she was VERY excited. I made a goal if she could get to 100, that we'd go shopping for her formal dress for the cruise. She still about 15 pounds too heavy, but if she can maintain that, she would get taller and thin out.

Anyways, yesterday Michelle mentioned about being excited for every loss I have. I found this on the WW site that someone had posted and thought it was appropriate for me.

"Sometimes I'd get frustrated if my weight hit a plateau one week, or if I lost ounces instead of pounds. Now I realize that all of those ounces added up to lots of pounds! Every little bit is a part of the ultimate goal"

Katie has swimming tonight, but not sure if I'll swim myself or not. Might walk on the treadmill for a little while since I didn't get much in today. Tomorrow is weigh in, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Tera, I understand your frustrations, I so do and that's why I just don't want you to feel discouraged about small losses.

You had a really great day! I can't see myself ever eating a veggie sandwich so I have to give you props for that! ::yes::

If you find any good recipes in your WW cookbook make sure you share them with us.

I'm glad to hear that Katie has lost a little bit of weight. It really is best for her to get it off now before it gets worse, believe me, I've been there! I hope the formal is a great motivation for her, I know I want to look smashing in mine! :teeth:

Good luck at weigh in tomorrow, we'll be waiting here to party with you!

BTW! Everyone remember to watch The Biggest Loser tomorrow night and American Idol too! :teeth:

Sounds like you had a good day. I can totally relate to what you are going through with your daughter. Remember, I was doing the same with my daughter Amanda...and it sounds like they are right around the same age. It's so hard when things just don't fit them. Clothes for young girls are made so form fitting these days. I'm sure with you helping her, that she will be very successful.

Good luck at weigh in today!!

Hi Michelle - Thank you for keeping me in line. I really took to heart what you said about a loss being a loss and so on. It really helps :flower: There is NO WAY I'm going to forget about TBL & AI. Those are two of my girls FAVORITE shows (besides Lost), so we'll be in front of the tv tonight :earboy2:

The veggie sandwich was way better than I thought it would be and I will probably order it again (w/o sauce). I don't know how many points it was, but since most was veggies, I'm thinking pretty low.

I'm hitting the bookstore later this week for cooking light type books, so I'll definitely pass on any good ones I find.

Hi Gail - I know Katie and Amanda are pretty close in age and I think height and obviously both battling the weight already. I just wish I had done this last year when she first really started gaining, but I guess better now than when she's in her teen's. She was very excited about the loss and we've got rewards (not food) when she gets there.

Well... my weigh in was good, not great, but good. I lost 1.2 pounds for a total of 33.6 pounds in 21 weeks since start WW (8/24/04). I keep telling myself "it's a loss... it's a loss..." I have lost 5.1 pounds so far for the month of January with one more weigh in to go. Not too shabby :smooth: I have about 29 pounds to get to my cruise goal of 145. I was able to get 45 minutes in at the gym before and I'll be heading out to bowling in a few minutes. This week should be good for me since we have nothing special planned and should be able to stay OP. TOM is expected next week, so we'll have to see how it goes

Teresa, you are doing GREAT!! I know each little ounce doesn't seem like much but look how far you've come!! 33.6 pounds and lots less inches - you should be very proud of you! I also think you should be proud of the healthy habits you're creating, because they will stick with you for the long haul and help you get to goal and then maintain!

Hope you bowl well and enjoy your TV night! :sunny:

Hi Tera,

I will be watvhing AI with you tonight. It is about time that it is back on.

Congratulations on the loss! That is awesome. You have lost nearly 34 pounds! CONGRATS!

Good for Katie. I think that you are approaching this the right way. If you can get her to 110 and maintain it, she'll grow into the weight. I'm trying to incorporate more exercise into my Katie's life. A new dress is a fabulous incentive. Spring dresses will be coming out too!

have a great evening.
Beth

WAY TO GO, TERA!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That is a super loss and so close to what you wanted this week. I'm betting you will be getting your 35lb. clippie next week! You have come so far in such a short time! You also reached goal on the challenge this month! :cool1:

I have several Cooking Light cookbooks and I love them! Cooking Light is one of my favorite magazines too. ::yes::

I'll check in tomorrow to compare tv notes! :teeth:

Tonight is actually one of my fav parts of AI. The "tryout" shows! You are guranteed a few laughs!

Now we all have to promise. NO SNACKING during the show!

OH MY GAWD... We are watching AI right now and I can't stop laughing :hyper: :hyper: I just can't believe some of the people that say they are soooo good and they STINK :earseek: :earseek:

Don't forget the last episode of TBL is on too. Those guys look so great. Especially Aaron and Andrea.

Thanks Beth - Wow, almost 34 pounds is pretty stinkin' good when you think about it. :earseek: Wait till we celebrate 40 and then 50 pounds :cool1: :cool1: Thanks for your support!!

Thanks Michelle - I've heard great things about the Cooking Light magazine. I'm going to check Barnes & Noble and also Sam's Club for books/magazines.

Hi Carol... Thanks for stopping by. I was good with snacking, low fat string cheese and some green tea :flower:

Hey Tera! I taped AI so I won't get to watch it until tomorrow, glad to hear it's as hillarious as always! :p

I had a feeling Dave the evil one was going to win tonight. I was hoping Aaron could hold on to it. Oh well, Dave deserved it, he did a great job I just don't like him! LOL

Good job with your snacks! :D

Michelle - Your going to LOVE AI :jester: Of all the people, Dave was my least favorite :sad2: I was hoping Aaron would win too, but Dave definitely got rid of more fat :earseek:

Well today started off pretty well, got in 30 minutes on the weights (working mostly upper body), 40 minutes on the stair-from-hell machine and 30 minutes on the treadmill. I felt good.... Went up to JCPenny's to look at luggage for our cruise :cool1: I saw that they are starting to put out swimsuits (in JANUARY! :earseek: ) and I needed a new pair of swimming shorts (to go over my swim suit and cover my big butt). I thought, "I'll try a large on... they might be tight, but they'll fit". Well, I could barely pull those babies on :guilty: So much for losing all this weight and feeling good :guilty: :guilty: I also was looking at boots and they had these calf high type boots 70% off and I thought, "those would be cool to have". I put them on and couldn't get them all the way up my calf. It just put me in a "I'm feeling fat" mood :sad2:

Anways... I had tuna in a wheat tortilla for lunch and trying to drink lots of water. I'm going to walk up to the school in a little while to help out and then Katie and I will walk home. Trying to get her outside as much as possible while the weather is nice. Oh oh oh.... it's in the 60's here!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc suppose to be 68 tomorrow :earseek: :earseek:

:grouphug: Teresa!!!!

Don't let the size on the garment tell you how to feel! I know exactly how it feels, though. I had a similar experience at Old Navy a few weeks back. I tried on a pair of jeans, well at least I tried to try on a pair of jeans but they wouldn't go over my hips. I was shocked and instantly felt fat. Swish those self-defeating thoughts away!!!!! As for the boots, you probably have big calve muscles from the stairs-to-hell machine :earboy2:

Really, don't let it get you down. You have made TONS of progress and it shows!

As for your weather... I am JEALOUS! It has just reached double digits here (up to 12 def F) with a windchill of ZERO. Blah, blah, and more blah... Enjoy it while you can and get Katie out there to soak up some rays :smooth:

Sundie

Hang in there Teresa~~~ You have done a great job and will continue to do so!!!

Sundie is right. Don't feel blue...you have come a long way :earseek: They make those clothes so small...I don't ever think I will be able to wear the hip huggers. I don't want everyone seeing my undies.

Enjoy that nice weather. That was the kind of weather we had up until a few days ago...now we have snow...enough to make a mess of things. We even canceled bowling.

Cheer up  You're doing great!

Thanks for the support. It's almost that TOM, so I'm sure that's why I'm feeling this way. I have done well and it's been less than 5 months, so I should be happy. I'll get over it, I always do :earboy2: Oh, weather is STILL gorgeous and we actually hit 70 here today. What's up with that?? :earseek: Saturday a cold front comes in and then back into the 60's for a few more days. I've got Spring Fever so bad now, but I'm not ready for(and nobody is ready to see me in) shorts :earseek:

Well today has been a pretty good day, but I'm tired. Got up this morning and weighed myself (bad Teresa VERY bad) and the scale said 175. I think that thing is broken and I'm determined not to weigh myself again till Tuesday. After kids left, went to the gym and did 45 minutes on the treadmill and then an hour yoga class. Definitely feels good to stretch out those muscles I worked so hard yesterday and think I will try and do this class every week. Now I just need to try a cardio class. Came home and actually got to kick back a few hours before heading up to the school to help out for a New Family coffee for PTO. Was up there for a few hours and came home. Food was good today, toast this morning, spaghetti squash for lunch (I think I cooked it too long) so I had the little hand size soup and toast and then veggie soup with some chicken and toast. You think I'm eating too much bread :earseek: :earseek: Not sure what I'll have for dessert, but I'm sure it'll have some kind of chocolate in it. It's almost that TOM and this is the first time in awhile that I've really been craving it.

I have realized I will not get to my 140 goal by the cruise date or even 145. Now I'm shooting for a 150, but that is getting really hard to do too and not sure I'll get there. I still realize I will have about 15 more pounds to go to my final goal when I get home, but that's okay. Tomorrow is happy hour and plan to be really good, especially with drinking.

Tonight I will have some green tea and plenty of water.

Tera, I'm sorry you were feeling bad about the clothes/boots you tried on. That's the worst.

You just sound like you need a big hug.

:grouphug: Tera,

My first word of advice is that DZONE is not the time to go shopping. Swim shorts are small, and the calf boots are really tough to get to fit. The only reason mine fit is that they are adjustable with a buckle. :grouphug:

It is really hard to accept that you aren't going to make a goal in the timeframe you have set. You are doing this very gracefully. You WILL make your goal. This is a life long stuggle for us, you have to tools needed to reach and maintain your goal.

Boy were you busy today. I hope you get some good rest tonight.

Have a great weekend,
Beth
