I have been looking around for some different restaurants to eat at this time around for Free dining and I came across Teppan Edo. I have never eaten at this kind of Japanese restaurants before, ones that cook your food in front of you. :) I read a great 2007 review http://www.mousesteps.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=123&Itemid=90 on the restaurant.
What is your opinion of Teppan Edo?
Do the chefs ever leave like when they are done cooking?
Who takes your order?

Sorry if these are dumb questions...:upsidedow

THANKS!

This is a great place to eat at. We love it here. It's a must do every trip. Not like the places at home. It's good food & fun. The waitress takes your order and the chef comes in a cooks and has some fun with everybody. Go you will have fun.:thumbsup2

Loved it! Ate there twice last trip.

The chef leaves after all the food is cooked and served. You are seated with 8 people. Typically in a room with 4 tables so you can watch other chefs cook too.

It is very entertaining and the food is great!

We love it there - we've had wonderful, fun meals everytime.:thumbsup2

We love it! The chef leaves you alone after he's done cooking. It's so much fun! Fantastic food, it's a must-do for us now.

This is a must do for us too! It's such a fun time and the food is terrific!

We love to eat there. They have waitresses that take your orders and refill drinks and such. Then a chef comes in to prepare the food. Once he is done, he will leave.

They do a very interactive show and is big fun!

Do you tip the chef?

No, you tip the server. I don't know if it is divided up behind the scenes.
Also, DH loves the salad with ginger dressing, the salad is extra, not included in the dining plan, but we order it anyway. We love this place too.

We ate at Teppen Edo last Friday. It was a great dinner and a lot of fun. The desserts were a little week IMHO though.

Tom was our cook and did most of the typical stuff like the Mickey volcano made from onions but nothing real special.

Depending on the size of your party you will be seated at a grill for 8 so you might be sharing it with other families. If both parties our out going this can be a lot of fun.

I really like Teppan Edo. I will be skipping dessert and ordering sake.

Thanks to everyone for the great reviews and pics. I think we will be making a ressie! :goodvibes

Tom is a great chef! No monkeying around for him, just great food and great conversation!

We eat there every trip - It's a must do for us! We love it!
