We are thinking about trying Teppan Edo when we visit in August. Is it like a typical Japanese Steakhouse where they cook the food in front of you on a grill?
I am also looking for info from people that have eaten there, specifically with children. We will have a 7 and 8 year old with us. They both like sushi and the Japanese Steakhouse in our area.
Looking forward to your comments...thanks!

Hi
i visited this restaurant in November last year. You are seated at a table of 8 with the grill in front of you and the chef cooks everything in front of you!!The food and atmosphere was great it was our favorite meal of our holiday .I am going back in April and this is on my list of must do's, also lots of kids there too

I've heard a mixed bag on this. The Podcast guys thought the service was sub-par. However, we had friends who went this past November and didn't just like it, THEY LOVED  IT! The had DS10, DS8, DS6, and DD3. Both the parents and kids said it was the best meal they had all week.

Thanks for the info...we are going to try it! Having the food cooked in front of you is always FUN!

I enjoy it.

They have a kids' meal that is served in a dish shaped like a monorail car.

We dined there last Saturday and it was terrific! It was our second favorite dinner after Narcoossee's. The food was so good and fresh. The service was wonderful, as was the chef. We had a lady as our chef, and she was very interactive and friendly! My 12 year old son absolutely loved it!

Our chef was male, half American and half Japanese and wearing a name tag that said "Thor - Dusseldorf, Germany." He was a riot.

we are thinking about going too...i have some picky eating kids though, do they offer any "plain" stuff for kiddies,? i looked at the menu and it did not appear they did. DH and I will love it i am sure, but not sure about them.

We were there 2 weeks ago and we REALLY loved it. The service was excellent. Our table chef was a young woman and she was very sweet and funny. There were also two other servers who brought our drinks and kept coming by to see if we needed anything. We felt very well taken care of.

Our kids are 3 and 5 and good eaters. They had the kids chicken meal which was the same as the adult chicken meal, just smaller (chicken, white rice and zucchini/onion/mushrooms mixed with noodles). They absolutely loved it! They also give you individual trays with 3 dipping sauces and my kids enjoyed trying those. They even used chopsticks and loved it so much we had to stop in the pavillion and buy a family set of chopsticks for home.

We would definitely recommend it.

The Food is adequate

If you have never eaten at a Hibachi restaurant - you will probably love it.
If you have been to Bennihana or any other local Hibachi Restaurant (weve been to several) - you will probably find the Chefs at Teppan Edo are not as entertaining and the food not as good.

But it is still worth trying. But we love our local place so much more we probably will not go back.
