Tell us what rate & dates you got with the new codes!

Saved $283. for our Dec 11-17 trip to ASM :cool1:

Thats great! I just switched from pop to ASMu for 12/11 to 12/16 Maybe I will see you there. I got airfare from richmond , Park hopper, diningplan and room all for $928. A 200 dollar savings over POP. Great price I though for a solo trip.

I was under the impression that since I had booked before the price increase, the discount would be applied to my existing reservation - at the old price. But I've noticed that I am paying the same price as anyone else who is currently booking using the fall discount code.

Is this correct? I know it's silly but I feel kinda disappointed that I am not benefitting from the discount based on the old pricing (am I making sense?).

I'm not sure what you mean. Did the rack rates change after you made your reservation?

So I'm trying to figure out why everyone always seems to want to be sure that any new discounts "can be applied to an existing reservation"? Since there is no benefit I can see to doing that. Or why would anyone worry about it since you could just as easily book a new reservation.

The benefit is that you do not have to worry about trying to get a reservation at the last minute. Saying you can "just as easily book a new reservation" really isn't true - many people have found they couldn't get their preferred resort/date. Now, if I were only travelling because of the code, and couldn't afford to go without it, I would probably wait and make a reservation after it came out. But in my case, we're going with or without a code, so it wouldn't make any sense to wait until the last minute to make a reservation.

The ticket prices changed I think?

Exactly! I couldn't have booked my resort at all with the discount. But I was able to apply the code to my existing reservation (don't ask me why or how and I'm not going to complain! :) ).

Also, I feel like it's an advantage, for me personally, that I've been making payments to my reservation for the past several months. So, I already have $3k of my total paid off and a little over $1k to go. That's much easier for me to swallow than a $4k bill right now. IYKWIM! ;)

Well, I guess I'm confused because I can still go through the Disney website and punch in my dates (oct 30 - nov 7) and using the code get the discounted price. There does not seem to be a shortage for that date at POP. However, my TA said that to get the special I had to switch to standard room (I don't mind), but I can book a reservation through the website with a preferred room. Plus I've read other posts about this time period and have heard that the rooms at POP were sold out at 7:30 on Thursday morning. So I'm wondering what the deal is about that?

And, is the special fall discount only really for the room? In other words am I only getting a break on the room? I thought it was also on the tickets. I booked before the price increase so I guess I assumed that whatever discount percentage was offered would be applied to my original reservation at the old price. Right now my price is the new current one at the increase.

In other words I'm not understanding the urgency and the need to have it applied to an existing reservation when there seems to be plenty of availability. But that may just be for the dates/resort I'm looking at. Not sure about other times/resorts. It was just my impression.

And of course I am not trying to sound like I'm complaining - I did save a nice amount on my trip!! The total for two rooms at POP was a savings of $980.00. Of course that's not accurate since I was switched from preferred to standard, so the actual savings is closer to $780.00.

Anyway, I guess I was wondering if there was an error and maybe try to squeeze a little bit more of a savings out of it.

Can't blame a girl for trying! ;)

At first she was only able to find a preferred room but I didn't want that, I wanted more discount! So, she said let me look at something again, and she was able to find a standard room! I think I figured the numbers correctly. Can anybody verify that I figured it out right? I was trying to figure the disc. percentage, but keep getting lost, it's late, late! It almost seems to good to be true!! :cheer2:

I'm glad to see that there were some preferred rooms at CBR available. I'll keep checking to see if one becomes available for our dates.

Has anyone else had any luck getting a preferred at CBR?

Yes, the break is only on the room.

I have two separate reservations. Both are for the exact same type of room at BC, but one room has 4 people (and 4 tickets and 4 dining plans) and the other room has 3 people (and 3 tickets and 3 dining plans). After applying the code, I saved almost exactly the same amount on each reservation. If the discount had applied to the tickets and/or dining plan, the reservation for 4 people would have had more taken off than the reservation for 3 people.

OneBadApple,
I got two ajoining preferred rooms at CBR w/ DDP, 8 day hoppers for $3.9k. 2A, 3C, Nov 20-27.

It took a few days of trying but the discount finally opened up for us at CSR. We are going Nov 30-Dec 7th, with DDP and 8 day base tickets for $2,320.

Thanks for all your advice to keep checking.

What code did you use? I just returned from WDW and tried to book bounceback offer for any Value resort for almost these same dates in Dec and I was told there was nothing available. I tried to book on Sat 8/16 our check out day.

I used the QXD code. That is for a magic your way with dining package. There are other codes posted around here for different options just check through the threads. I got lucky on the airfare (not part of the package) A friend of mine told me about it. It was what caused me to book the trip in the first place

Well, after much switching around, we are back to the original resort we started in! We originally booked POR for Nov 21-29, 7 day MYW with park hopper, and basic dining plan. 2 Adults, 3 children, total $3600 (approx)
With the QXD code, my total now is $3031.99!
SAVINGS of $568.00!! I am thrilled!!:rotfl:

Plus, I cannot believe I got this good of a discount for the week of Thanksgiving!!!!

After calling every day since last Thursday, today I was finally able to apply QXD to my Pop reservation for Oct. 15-20!! The reservation is for me, DH, and DD7, we have 5 day PH passes, and the dining plan. Original price was $1784; new price with code is $1502!! Yea!! Definitely keep trying if you haven't been able to use the code yet!

I am home today due to Hurricane Fay and thought I would check out BC rates for November. I can never get in. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got the BC for $302/night for 11/14 to 11/17 with a Florida Resident Rate......I am so excited. Its one of the last resorts I have not stayed at and I am so happy.

Hi Everyone,

We got Dec 12-20, 2008 (8 nights) with 2 adult 7-day park hoppers at Pop Century for $1,115.98. With the code DGL. I'm so excited. Without that discout we wouldn't have been able to go.

Had to push trip back by a week, but was able to get the code!
Was at Pop Oct.19-25 7 nights preferred room
2 Adults/8 day park hoppers/deluxe dining
Price: $2476

Now: at Pop Oct.25-Nov.1 7 nights preferred room
2 adults/8 day park hoppers/deluxe dining
Price: $2031

Total savings: $345
Not a ton, but extra money for souvenirs!!! :yay:

We could save about $100 more if we downgraded to a standard room, but I'm really crossing my fingers for the 60's poolside, which is preferred!
